Love this album. Personally I prefer his solo work over emperor by a large margin so I’m just happy to hear ihsahn sound like ihsahn as the quality of artists is always high. And I totally agree with you about Surgical steel but feel like At War with Reality was just OK. Tomas can sound pretty different from album to album. Ihsahn brings it every time
So confusing when the intro doesn't flow in pilgrimage to oblivion 😂 but the promethean spark definitely needs to be the first track ... feels like watching the opening credits to a movie ... 007 title song kind of vibe 😜
I became aware of Ihsahn due to his work nine years ago on the Trivium album "Silence in the Snow", and I started to check his stuff out, including Emperor. Suffice to say, guy is in a lot of side projects and keeps himself busy, so Emperor being "done" doesn't really affect him as much as it would the diehard fans. However, all that to say, that this album of his solo material is really strong and I feel that 4/5 grade you gave it. I feel as if I went through four or five entire genres of music during its time allocation, and I really was hooked to pretty much every song, including the intro and outro. Also, meant to comment this before but I love the Idle Hands shirt, a shame they had to change the name but still one hell of a band.
You really do great reviews. As such I have a request. I know you said after their last album you just were done, but….would you please PLEEEEASE review the new Six Feet Under record when it comes out this year. I know I know, but it’ll probably make my day 😂😂. Take one for the team bro.
“After” is one of my favourite records ever in any genre. He started losing me with Das Seekenbrechen and the subsequent albums, which all kinda blend together for me. This one sounds interesting though.
Some of Ihsahn’s strongest solo material to date, even though I will always miss Emperor, I do respect what Ihsahn does and I do respect Ihsahn not wanting to make new Emperor material. Still think Emperor Top 5 black metal band for me all time.
This album is Freaking Awesome!! I have been listening to it all Day!! Tell Chompy to put the headphones on and enjoy, there is a lot of moments that definitely remind me of Emperor with a lot of other cool elements and it’s Great
I am board where is that job for a cowboy album review at is this job for a cowboy album moon healer worth it worth buying worth purchasing or adding to my collection is it worth it to add to your collection for any one l 1
@@themetalmeltdownofficial just waiting feels like I am thinking of feeling a little cured I never got into this band I really want them to beat me up and convince me they are worth it and fucking worth it
Im sorry y’all but this album sucks , yes there’s quality in the instrumentation and composition, but there’s something so cheesy about it , can’t stand this shit
People were hyping this up to be the next emperor album and it couldn't even live up to Ihsahn's first 4 solo albums. Just pathetic riffs and an orchestra. Disappointing.
Best Ihsahn material since Emperor days.

Just heard the "main" version of this album this morning, and I really freaking enjoyed it. This is everything I want in symphonic metal IMO
If more symphonic metal were like this, I'd probably talk about more symphonic metal ngl lmao
So far it's been worth the very long wait. Feels like he's upped it a few notches. He's a musical genius.
He outdone himself in this one, mergin all of his influences but really focused. Fantastic album.
Will check this out thank you for posting!
The singles for this new Ihsahn album have been awesome! Excited to hear it in full.

@@7riX7er oh, yeah, for sure! Maybe he can do the orchestration for the next 007 movie!
An exquisite album
Between this, the new spectral voice, necrowretch and hulder joints we’re getting spoiled at the start of 2024.
Its been a great couple of weeks so far.
Promethean Spark, Pilgrimage into oblivion and Twice Born back to back is just a fantastic sequence of brillance. What a record this is.
Another comeback album, that was on par, if not better than their classic debut 'Focus', was Cynic's 'Traced in Air'; a masterpiece... 👌
Top i love this album ❤❤❤❤

the best album of Ihsahn
Emperor albums are bangers and untouchable
and poor Chompy😢
He'll be ok, he's a tough one.

So Sparagmos held best album of the year for a record breaking 7 days. Damn you Ihsahn
I mean, for me, its still Sparagmos. But who knows - 2024 has only just begun, anything can happen

This album completely sucks , it’s really cheesy
It’s a boring Disney movie featuring Emperor. 😂
I'm not gonna lie I'd watch a Disney movie with Emperor lmao, can't be any worse than Strange World and Wish so fuck it.
