Thanks for the informative video - I also like a compressor at the end of the chain. In fact, I used to put a compressor at both the front and back of the chain -
Thanks a lot for this video it was extremely helpful and informative. I was thinking about getting the Pedaltrain Novo 24 at my local Guitar Center and I needed one didn't understand the specifics until I came upon your video. Thank you.
I bought the Novo 24 together with my 3rd pedal ! Still got a few spots free for new stuff. If it gets too small , I'll sell it and go with a bigger one by pedaltrain :) Great Video :)
Great video! I purchased a Novo 24 today and just got finished setting up my pedals on it a few hours ago. I only put 3 items on mine. A Boss ME-70, a crybaby and a Line 6 wireless unit. Everything fits perfectly on it and this is going to make setting up and tearing down so much faster! Looking forward to gigging with it in a few days.
Thanks! It sure does make setting up a lot faster and easier! If you're only using 3 effects, you probably could have gone for a smaller Pedaltrain but you definitely have room for expansion!
I tried smaller ones but none of the smaller ones could fit my stuff. The reason is the ME-70 is pretty big. It's a pedalboard in itself, but adding my crybaby and wireless unit to my setup created a need to somehow tie this all together for easy setup/teardown. The Novo 24 worked perfectly! I'm so happy with it.
Thanks for the tip about turning the BOSS base around! It was a bit snug fit on my FZ-2 and TU-3. Hopefully the extra pressure doesn't damage the pedal :/ One thing I found about wah pedals is that the screws for the feet are regular #6-32 UNC screws, which are very common in PC cases, e.g. flat head variant such as this one en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_case_screws#/media/File:PCscrew6-32-large.jpg With such a flat head the velcro should be able to provide grip without further mounting hacks.
Boss pedal trick did not work for me.. Blues Driver.. the rubber "foot" presses against the DC jack input, wont sit flush. It was good in theory. Maybe some work and some don't.
A compressor is a colouring device meaning that "in general" you'd go Guitar, wah, compressor, OD, Dist, Fuzz, Motion devices, Echos, Reverbs etc, Amp...but hey go crazy and do what you like.
I unscrewed the back of my Boss RC-3 Loop Station but its seemed like the *motherboard was too close the base of the pedal. I felt like I might crush the motherboard if I tried screwing the back plate on that way. It's the only Boss pedal I know, so I am not sure if the other Boss pedals are different. *Motherboard... is that what you call it? I have no idea.
Hi Harry, you have to remove the black rubber part from the base of the pedal, then you flip it over and screw it back on. The circuit board is pretty close to the base on most modern boss pedals.
Great video and thanks! Which side of the velcro did you attach to the pedal board? The hook or the loop... my eyes are getting bad. :-) I'm guessing the loop?
i too tried flipping the cover over long before seeing this post (tu-3), but it wasn't really a good fit. the circuit board was so close it almost had to be forced down to make it work. i wasn't sure how this would affect the pedal in the long run, so just ended up pulling the rubber pad off completely. it most likely going to be on a pedal board of some kind anyways. don't think ill ever need the pad.
Love Pedalboard planner. What a great tool. But he did it "old school" - which also worked. I thought it was an informative video. I am doing a new one this week.
Ooh, I hadn't been familiar with that utility and was excited to see it; but it doesn't look like they're keeping it up to date and it's missing some popular boutique makes like Red Panda and Montreal Assembly.
The tip on turning around the boss label on the back of the pedal was such great advice!
Great tip on applying Velcro to the Boss pedals. Never would have thought bout just flipping the back cover. Gives me something to do today.
I've used Boss in my line up for 30 years and never thought to flip the back plate---what a great tip! THANK YOU😁!
I'm glad my video was helpful!
Damn right that's a great tip! It's always annoyed me that I can't get my boss pedals to stick properly. Problem solved!
I agree with your point on the compressor being last. I used my Keeley like that when I ran it in the chain. Great video.
Thanks for the tip on flipping the pedal bottoms. Nice little maneuver that will certainly be employed.
Great demo and Layla made me smile.

GGHaj12 I’m glad my video was helpful. Happy jamming!
Great idea about laying out pedals on paper! Can't believe I never thought of that...
Wow, flipping the bottom thing.. I was looking for this exact idea! Thanks. I will try it now!

Thanks for the video man. Its helpful.

Love your CD collection, BTW!
Nice tip on flipping the backing plate on the Boss Pedals!
Thanks for sharing your pedal board tips :)
very nice! looking forward to this pedal board too, plenty of space.
smart choice to lay them down on a paper, well done sir!
That first tip with the paper seem so obvious when you see it done, but is really a genius idea!
Use a hairdryer to heat up the glue on the Velcro before sticking it on to anything.
Great video, thanks for sharing!!!!!!!!!!!!
nice video!!!! i think is the only novo on youtube!!! congrats!!
it would be nice to see that edalboard on action!!!
So helpful.

I'm gonna try the tip for the Boss pedals, but I'm also a bit skeptical as the width of the rubber side is substantial...
Great vid
Layla rules! Great video, thank you
Hey question, I'm considering hard or soft case. My question is does the soft case mess with the knobs on the pedals? Especially the ones at the top?
Your dog is so cute lol!

I have a video with the model of brackets you need for the voodo lab 2plus.
Coolio 💜
Can you tell more me about the case now that you've have it for a while? Does the soft case hold up to travel well?
Hi Zachary! Yes the soft case has held up well for me but I am careful with how I pack it in my car. I am happy with the case.
Great video and thanks! Which side of the velcro did you attach to the pedal board? The hook or the loop... my eyes are getting bad. :-) I'm guessing the loop?
I attached the loop side to the pedal board and the hook side to the effect pedals.

you are smarter than you look . just kidding! I am really impressed with the way you figured it out, simple but smart.
Thanks for the idea.
Yeah that Boss hack is a game changer
How did you put the pedals without falling on the board ?
Is that magnetic ?
You need to use velcro!
excuse me layla but I am currently making a film. thank you.
Dog approved!
You should have just gone to pedalboardplanner.com
DRockT123 Agreed, but I was completely surprised that there is no option for a Fractal MFC-101 midi controller in the pedal menu.

Wah wuh
bad cable management
9:48 - You know you're not making any fuckin' sense...izzat what you were gonna say???
This would be great if you didn’t talk so much...great info but takes too long to get to it.
