Great stuff Wayne I’ll have to buy me a badger brush and thanks for all previous information have a great new year eve evening and hopefully the new year goes well for you guys thanks and cheers 🍻
hi - christchurch based chap here - was wondering im wanting to use a similar process to add atmos fade on a landscape - but im using acrylics (not oils)...just learning using acrylics, but love your process of adding mist etc, not sure if liquin would suit on acrylics? or if can suggest what medium might be best....for applying a thin coat on top of dry base painting, so i can blend in some nice mist and very subtle atmosphic haze etc...any suggestions super welcome....just self learning in traditional after many years in digital matte painting etc.
Some artists are using acrylic as a base painting and then completing it with a layer of oil paint. I've painted for sixty (eek!) years, I would not hesitate to do the fog in oil as the final layer. It's like house paint: you don't paint acrylic over oil based paint and get a good bond, but you're o.k. with oil based over acrylic. Have fun painting, you never stop learning! Best regards, Michele
@@micheledagenais770 awesome - thanks for the tip, yeah i was chatting to a very experienced portrait artist at the christchurch art show last weekend, he had similar suggestion - also said sometimes he will seal off the acrylic base with either varnish or even clear gesso, then go oils on top.....definitely something i will be experimenting with next - thanks for the tips!
Short and straight to the point, answered my question in less than 2 minutes.

Would a goat hair brush work as well? 🤔 When I look for badger brushes all I get are beard brushes
