Doesn't fit. I've had ringing in my ears since about 6 years old; I am now 69. I am not a stressed out person at all. I don't know what the big deal is about ringing in the ears. I just deal with it. I compartmentalize. I've never let it get me down. Mind over matter, that sort of thing.
I got mine afer a head ingury. Its only on one ear but its so loud that I can hear it over any noise. Its like someone is hamering an ice peak in to my brain al day long.
Hi Julian, I’ve had constant 24/7 tinnitus for a month and a half. i’ve done a hearing test and apparently i have hearing loss in 4k frequencies. Doctors tell me the tinnitus is from my ears trying to replace the frequencies that i’ve lost. Do your teachings and advice still apply to someone who has hearing loss? I must admit though that i’ve had depression for about 10 years, i have ptsd now from my preteen / teen years (im 21 now), and i’ve had a very stressful past year. Ever since the tinnitus started a month and a half ago, i very easily get migraines and i have never been the type of person to just get headaches before this. im a musician and now i found it very difficult to be in music settings for longer than an hour, it starts to irritate my head. i just want to know if there’s hope for me to hear silence again.
Or course there is hope for you getting better. Many people with hearing loss get better. I am a good example of that. Its true the brain can overcompensate and put sound in where the hearing has been lost, but this is just the first stage of the process. The central nervous system will filter this sound out again the more we come out of fight or flight and shift our attention away from the noise. Craniosacral therapy can help release the buzzy charge in your system. Ask for plenty of contact around the ear area. Hope this helps, best wishes Julian PS If you would like to have a one-to-one session to talk this through in more detail, please contact me on info@juliancowanhill.co.uk
After a bike accident I have very loud tinutis and hypersensitivity to some frequency's in one ear. Its been 2 years and somehow Im still here on this world🌍 ... It
@@tomf4612 I think I just got used to it somewhat but its still there like day one. There are days when I can handle it, but then there days when it totally takes over me. When Im stressed out or when I have a busy day or I need to concentrate hard it gets louder.
Hello Julian, I've been following you for a year now, sept 2023 was when my tinnitus got loud boy did I feed it Fear for 2 good months then I had hearing loss in the ear which is my left ear..and I've been getting CST weekly for about 4 months then biweekly for 2 months..now once a month..was also doing yoga Taichi often..and I've slacked off the yoga but I need to do it again..we seem to need that body based exercise..its very helpful..my question is ..for about the past 2 week my tinnitus goes in and out..like loud then quiet like a breath..sometimes when I plug one side or both sides of my nose then tinnitus will whistle whistle..have you ever experienced that? I do see an ENT for my hearing loss and tinnitus, he says hearing loss is permanent but tinnitus maybe not permanent..and I believe with all my heart ❤ it can go quiet again..I thank you for your videos and advice..you are a wonderful man. Sincerely Esmeralda Vanderhoof from Fresno California. May God Bless You always ❤🙏
The ear nose and throat system is very interconnected. When your activation levels come down then everything calms down in my experience. Cranial work practising buteyko breathing and doing lots of yawning and face massage can help all of this settle. Hearing loss is permanent but Tinnitus is definitely changeable. please remember that it is the central nervous system that is ramping up the sound sensitivity and that can change. I hope this helps. If you need any personal support with this then please get in touch by email on info at Juliancowanhill.co.uk I hope you have downloaded my app where you can find loads of techniques to help. www.quietenapp.com
Ok, I will absolutely do your suggestions, I never thought of yawning or face massage and breathing ..I trust your advice ..I thank you so kindly..and being able to reach out you..have a Blessed day ❤Esmeralda
Brilliant analogy, Julian. I have improved so much since the Sardinia retreat in Oct 23. I have to say that 80% of the time tinnitus is no longer on my thoughts or in my mind. When it is there, I don’t get all wound up over it anymore.
Ciao, Julian. How are you? I am one of your long time follower and you’ve had a huge impact in me in healing tinnitus. 🙏 Now I’m pretty good and my tinnitus is reduced to a very soft hiss to which I no longer pay attention to. ❤️ We also had a private online chat one time. Anyway, lately I’m hearing some screeching and noises in my left ear when I swallow, eat or drink. Do you think it can also be a stress related condition as tinnitus? Thank you for you help. Grazie mille! 😉
Glad to hear the information has helped you. Sounds like your nervous system has become a bit activated again. I would have a cranial session on your head, face, ears and throat areas. You could also practice the boatmast meditation and the face and yawning and humming exercises on my app in the First Things First section. www.quietenapp.com These can make a huge difference. Also if you lie down and rest your fingers and thumbs gently around your throat area comfortably for a good ten minutes this can help the whole area free up. Hope this helps, best wishes Julian
Send my love to beautiful Italy. I have fallen in love with Sardinia and want to live there. I would be there now if it wasn't for Brexit!!! Keep your fingers crossed for me. For now I must stay stuck on this North Atlantic island that prefers to be apart from Europe.....
