    While the Eastern Sierra has an endless amount of incredible hiking trails, Kearsarge Lakes may be the most beautiful one yet. The hike meanders under stunning jagged peaks up to Kearsarge Pass, which offers panoramic views of the stunning Sierra range with its multi colored turquoise, green and blue lakes in the valley below. We got a chance to do this hike just after a fresh snowfall, and the views were just absolutely magical! We can't believe this hike is not more famous. What a California hiking gem!

    My husband and I send our sincerest condolences, as I’m sure Aunt Gail’s loss still hits hard. The beautiful part of this is that she’s doing one better than a UA-cam comment and she’s backpacking with you both. May your aunt and mom both guide you and hope you always feel their support.

      Thanks very much to both of you. Yes there is just a kind of empty space where her constant texts and emails used to be, but that space gets filled with beauty and memories whenever we are out at any mountain lake or waterfall. I quite literally feel both of them with us in these places, which draws me to them even more than before. ❤️ --A

You have so brightened my life through not only your adventures, but your love too! I know if my wife were here she would 100% totally agree. Elise is definitely no hobgoblin, but we definitely can say that Adam is a Pop Tart goblin fool!🤣 Right Elise? How can this spectacular scenery not be some of the best in world. Elise your voice makes these videos truly memorable. Thank you for bringing this old guy along! It was magnificent! I love you both dearly! So sorry for your loss Adam! Stay safe please! ❤️

    Grieving is a process that requires time and space, I hope you get both Adam....and Elise. Nature is a great space. Aunt Gayle was a fan......I can't imagine why? Was it the fantatic locations? Was it the wonderful videography? Was it the sense of adventure? Or was it the infectious charisma of the both of you together......all of that is what brings me here. Thank you for sharing. My prayers for you both.

      Thank you so much for your kind words, and you are right -- there is still more grieving to be done. With that said, I'm so blessed to be from an outdoors family where every time I'm in a beautiful place like this I feel the spirit of my ancestors with me. It makes me less forlorn to know I'm carrying them along on every beautiful adventure, and I really hope my kids will continue the tradition one day! ❤️ --A

    We are all passing thru this life -- sometimes much faster than we originally planned.
    Hopefully these special places will always remain, as places of solace for those who dare to find them.

    Years ago my friends and I hiked over Kersarge into Charlotte dome. Big hike in with gear. Next day ascent up the "dome", down in the dark, headlamps went out. We made it back to camp, and the next day hiked out in a light snow storm. What a memory. I haven't been to the Sierras like in 5 years. Hopefully next year I'll have my friend along and I'll take her there. Peace.

The fall colors, winter dusting and beauty along with summer sun! wha???!!! Amazing! The reflections and lake colors... everything was epic! Thank you sooo much for sharing!
    How do you guys ensure you warm up enough after a cold plunge that far from more clothes (even a towel), or a fire?
    Much love to you two and cheers to your loved one's celebrating your amazing lives with you! 🎉❤🥂🧘‍♀️🙏💖

    • @LiveHardxLoveHard
      @LiveHardxLoveHard  7 місяців тому +1

      Thanks very much, Lorina, and that's a great question. You might have noticed that sometimes on our winter hikes we'll come across an unfrozen or partially frozen lake, but if it's too cold outside we won't jump in because we don't want to risk hypothermia. We do always bring quick dry towels with us, so although we usually don't show it we immediately towel off after getting out. And we also have outer shell jackets, so if it's a cool wind and we're shivering we will put those on. But mostly, it's just movement. Exerting a lot of physical effort warms your body up really fast, so if we're cold but start hiking fast we warm up in just a minute or two. ❤️ -- A

    My hubby and I spent four nights up in the eastern sierra last week. One of our (car only, sadly) adventures was to that trailhead! We were there one week ago today, and although I had thought about doing just a tiny hike up the trail, I was feeling too fatigued, and just standing at the altitude, I could feel it. Oh well, at least we got to go. We stayed in Lone Pine, and watched every sunrise religiously. It’s so beautiful there!

    Here, in the Swiss Alps both September and October gave us a gift of extra two summer months, but now the fall is finally here, and hiking ceases until the next one...

    • @LiveHardxLoveHard
      @LiveHardxLoveHard  7 місяців тому

      That is lovely that you got some extra summer -- has the snow already started to fall now? Will you be able to snowshoe on the hikes still, or will many of them be closed until spring? We feel so lucky to still be able to hike to these places in the Sierra, and if it doesn't snow too much this winter and create avalanche danger then we will snowshoe to some of them as well! ❤️

    • @Bodikdereka
      @Bodikdereka 7 місяців тому +1

      @@LiveHardxLoveHard Yes, now there is snow above 2000 m and higher, but that's very recent in the Swiss Alps, because it was very dry. Not so much snowshoeing for me, but I believe people do it here, even though it is not as popular as in the US. You should definitely come and try and film several snowshoeing trips here. That would be fun to watch!
      But the skiing season will come in a couple of months. Hoping for a good one...

      Thanks very much, Kim. It was a shocking loss, but it's very comforting to feel both her and my mom still with me so strongly, especially in beautiful natural places and even more especially in beautiful lakes. I was full of joy the whole hike back from this one because I knew they were both with me. ❤️

    That was fantastic as always. I can't believe that I have actually done something that you guys had not done before, namely getting to Kearsarge Pass three times over it once (had my dog with me the other two times) but did not go to Kearsarge Lakes, a fantastic job on the video. And Adam sorry for your loss a great way to pay tribute to your aunt.

      Kim how did you not tell us about Kearsarge earlier?!?! You gotta set us straight when we're overlooking something this amazing 😂. But seriously, very glad you've gotten to experience it, and you're right it was absolutely the perfect place to give honor to Auntie Gail -- it would have been her ideal spot. ❤️

      @@LiveHardxLoveHard Sorry about that. Little Lakes Valley is pretty cool as well especially up to Ruby Lake, Adam might have a problem finding a good snack spot however. There might be a good one towards Mono Pass. But then again, you really can't go too wrong in the Sierra.

And the sweat to payoff ratio is off the chart (ie very easy hike) The hike all the way back to Gem Lake is a huge jackpot. It could be your recovery hike after one of your suffer-fests :)

    Enjoyed your video very much. Have walked over Kearsarge Pass three times and your video reminds me how beautiful it is. So I'm planning my next trip to Onion Valley and up over the pass. Just beyond the Kearsarge Lakes, Glen Pass to Rae Lakes is also a phenomenal hike. Thanks for the documentary of your walk!

    Sorry for your loss Adam. I went hiking today and it was nice and sunny in the 70s. I was all alone in the Nature Area all day. I saw two people in the parking lot when I arrived and one person in the lot when I left. I did not see another soul all day. There was lots of water and I even had trouble getting through on one trail because of the water and mud but got through later from the backside of the loop. I don't recommend going in the water here in Florida because we have alligators in just about all the water except maybe the ocean and Intracoastal waterway. You two are so lucky to live in such a beautiful area. The scenery and your videos are just so well done, it's like being there! Thank you and again Adam, I'm sorry for your loss and it looks like you were very close to your aunt!

    So sorry to hear about your aunt Gail. I am sure she is in a better place now. I've never been to Kearsarge Lakes, but I did climb University Peak about 20 years ago! Unparalleled Sierra beauty! Btw I think McDonalds egg and sausage McMuffins are right up there with pop-tarts as the finest nourishment for adventurers. Cheers!

      Haha this is my kind of comment, David! I think I've definitely done enough groundwork to show that Pop Tarts and McMuffs provide superior adventure fuel, and I'm glad you concur. We haven't done University yet, but absolutely plan to -- it looks amazing. And you're right about Gail. She totally knew she was headed to a better place, and although it was tragic and far to soon, at least she was ready in a way that most people aren't due to her spiritual maturity. ❤️ --A

Anything can happen to any of us at any time, so it's best to be grateful for the time we have and enjoy it. you guys seem to have that down!
