  • From Kotobukiya, we review an all new model kit line called Hexa Gear Alternative! This new Sneak Sight is both compact in size, and easy to assemble. Dave attempts to add some sparkle to this kit by painting the parts that are all molded in the same color. Things may not look exactly like the box, but it still makes for a great experience. Check it out!

I really like these Hexa gear models, but for their size they are so pricey!
I had to wait for a sale to start collecting them slowly lol I have a few of the governor series now and always on the lookout for more deals!

Seeing it sitting on the Haro shows best how small it is.

Wouldn't have thought it was a tiny kit, there's a lot of detail on display there! Painting looks to be a pain though, I'm terrible at it, haha...

Just use regular automotive acrylic primer in future, far cheaper, lasts way longer and as long as you keep the nozzle clean and spray from 30cm away in a booth with an extractor fan you get an even durable coat that is resistant to cracking etc.. I've been doing that for 30 years or more. If you're getting into painting a spraybooth with extractor fan, small compressor and dual action airbrush are must have; also painters' masking tape (narrow and wide) and liquid mask, basically latex in a bottle are a must too.

Not sure why you decided to paint it like that yeah always test your cans before applying. So are all the parts cast in the same colour? I was under the impression the Hexagear kits came coloured, is that not the case? Next time would be good to show the complete sprues as they appear out of the box.

You make a good point; we've stopped doing much paint work on the channel. We don't always show the sprues before assembly, but do try to where we can. In regards to color separation, yes, Hexa Gear comes molded in color, so you generally don't need paint unless you want to improve the overall look, just like Gunpla.

Does Hexa have any dog like kits? Had one idea with another kit of having like a guard dog or something.

Lord Impulse and Rayblade Impulse are sort of dog-like:

considering what they do with governers you would think this would be colored, but it's only black from what i have seen in the review
