Riggs actually pulled the trigger in the building with Roger after the roof jump. Roger's thumb was in the way of the hammer, that's why he says "ouch!".
My favorite joke from many in this movie: "What did one shepherd say to the other shepherd? Let's get the flock out of here!" This is my favorite Christmas movie. Actually, the whole series is great.
True. But the sequels never rose up to the level of the original. Die Hard at least had 3 great films in the franchise. Die Hard With A Vengeance is actually a good contender for the best Die Hard film
@@Tyu-f1s Unlike Die Hard, the decline is quality in the Lethal Weapon franchise is gradual at least and it never dips too far. Not like A Good Day to Die Hard.... OH MY GOODNESS
I never knew Roger's wife is Darlene Love. She used to come on David Letterman every year and sing a Christmas song. In December 1988 Gary Busey smashed his head in a motorcycle accident. He was never quite the same after that.
This entire series is so much fun, and the story of Riggs gets played out in all of them. They show his lowest point to his redemption. You're gonna love the series Miss Emma!
Two things. First: when I first saw this i the theater, I was so happy when Riggs invited Joshua to fight - in an action movie, I always felt disappointed if the hero badass didn't prove himself mano-a-mano against that villain badass. Second: I loved the characters so much that I was up for seeing them again even in a non-action movie - I would have totally been willing to watch a movie about Roger's family dramas or Riggs putting his life back together.
Emma, These Lethal Weapon movies are all good and keep getting better as we go on. They're a LOT of fun. It's so wise of you to realize you're going to do all four of them. And to let us know.
My favorite line is after Riggs gets shot by Joshua while wearing a vest, and while being propped up by Roger he says, "Oh Rog! Now I'm really pissed!" All four of these movies are great and number 4 is my favorite.
When I first saw this movie "I'm too old for this shit!" was just a funny line. Now when I'm past 50 it goes through my head almost every day. Still funny though. This is a great series of four movies that was good all the way through when Richard Donner was directing. I have little hope the fifth one will be as good though. One of the biggest reasons I think was that they weren't afraid to shift the sequels over to more comedy but still keeping some darker elements. I still have vivid memories about going to see the third one with great expectations and having a great time.
The "heroic" statement is for a scene that was cut from the theatrical release, Riggs shoots a gunman in a school while seemingly trying to get killed.
Movies 1 & 2 are great. Movies 3 & 4 are decent sequels. Altogether, still a good film series. Kinda hoping we get a 5th installment that returns more to its original roots to give a more proper conclusion.
@@bossfan49 I know the one he gives to Riann with the red bow is a full metal jacketed round, but I don't remember seeing what he loads into the chamber in his trailer
Hello Emma, always very nice to see you!😊 The Lethal Weapon films are that rare collection of films that are actually worth watching the entire series. Definitely one of the most successful buddy cop film collections. This is where that phrase "I'm getting to old......." originally came from, as you thought Emma. Great reactions to your very first Lethal Weapon film!!!🎬👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Looking forward to you reacting to all the Lethal Weapon movies! You will enjoy them!😊
Mel Gibson was MAD MAX too, you should see that trilogy and then follow up with FURY ROAD, the fourth and FURIOSA, the recently released 5th film in the MAD MAX saga.
I Luv Riggs and Murtaugh together! Great cop buddy duo! You are going to love this series Emma! The movies just get better and better! My favorite is Lethal Weapon 2! My favorite quote is simple..."I'm to old for this Shit"! - Murtaugh.… Thanks for sharing Emma ❤️💛
One of the interesting things about these films is Danny Glover is really only 10yrs older than Gibson but it's played like he's old enough to be his dad. "I'm too old for this shit"
Hello, Emma. Darlene Love, who plays Sgt. Murtaugh's wife is a famous singer. She started with a girl group called The Blossoms back in the 195o's. Love also sang on records with Elvis, Tom Jones, Sam Cooke, and Sonny and Cher. She starred in a documentary for which she won an award and is inducted in the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame. For many years, Darlene Love dropped by the Late Show with David Letterman to celebrate the Holidays with her rendition of Christmas (Baby Please Come Home). Perhaps you will consider the song for your music channels this year. I will definitely lift your spirit. Guaranteed. Keep going and enjoy.
Miracle on 34th St, Rudolph, Elf, Home Alone, Bad Santa and Die Hard, Lethal Weapon is up there amongst the Xmas classics. The soundtrack here is the unsung hero, the smooth sax sets the mood perfectly.
It makes me laugh every time they talk like mercury switches are some exotic device. In the 1980's my thermostat and washing machine both had mercury switches. Radio Shack used to stock mercury switches.
So when Done LW1,2,3,4 Watch Maveick..Mel Gibson,Jodi Foster, and a Fun cast of others based off the TV Western Starring James Gardner who also in Movie
First of all, I have always enjoyed your reactions, Emma. It seems like you put yourself in the characters situations and you show malice to the main characters (this is why I love your reactions. You HUMANIZE ME almost EVERY TIME I SEE YOU REACT to that, which I grew up with). Second, I believe you are going to enjoy THE FRANCHISE of these LETHAL WEAPON films. The FIRST ONE was my favorite.
So many great movies from back then Back to the future Beverly hills cop Ruthless people Trading places! Coming to America But...please watch Purple Rain
Brilliant movie from the 80's, parts of GTAV were taken from this movie franchise, but not this film itself, Riggs is a maniac in this, I'd act the same way as Murtaugh with Riggs as a partner lol.
4:21 it’s weird she’s wearing it out then. Most girls I knew back in the 80s wouldn’t wear a dress for a specific occasion prior to the occasion. 27:40 there’s an early 90s movie called “Air America” that stars Mel Gibson & Robert Downey Jr.
Hi Emma, beautiful reaction, this series of films are great entertainment in the same vein as the Die Hard series. Sending you positive vibes and hugs 🥰😘
“I’m too old for this shit”. The show How I Met Your Mother had a funny episode called the Murtaugh List based on things you shouldn’t do after a certain age. Really funny.
Emma, I think you'll like the entire franchise. In my opinion, they just get better from here. This is a movie I watch every Christmas. It was funny that you didn't comment about the absolutely HUGE cellphone Murtagh was using on the freeway overpass. It was the only place they could use it and get reception. Technology has come a long way since then. Also, you mentioned that you have a turkey in the fridge and that you need to cook it soon. Why not make a video of that? You can talk all through the process and share your own ideas and recipes for it. It might be fun to shoot a video like that. Take care and keep smiling!
I love the first two movies in this series, I think that they started going down a little bit afterwards, but I’ll let you decide for yourself when you watch them. Shane Black, who wrote the first two movies, wrote a couple others I think that you should check out, they are The Long Kiss Goodnight and Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang.
Hunsacker was telling Murtaugh about the military group Air America. In 1990, Mel Gibson starred in an action/comedy with Robert Downey Jr. called Air America about smuggling drugs during the Vietnam War.
After the suicide jumper scene, Riggs says he has a special hollow-point bullet to shoot himself, but in the earlier scene in his trailer we can see it's just a regular bullet.
I love Riggs. He's one of my favourite cops. The other is Dirty Harry. I can relate To how Riggs is feeling. It's hard to lose someone you care that much about. When you watch the rest of the series, many things will become clear. My best friend is x-Canadian Airborne. He had a guy on his team that could shoot like Riggs.
No chance of shedding a tear just watching this movie , and then you hit me with that background story . Here to watch the movie however , and it's a great one . Godfather a duet . Austin Powers a trilogy . So now Lethal Weapon I believe there are at least four installments . All but one are great , but I won't say which is not .
Riggs actually pulled the trigger in the building with Roger after the roof jump. Roger's thumb was in the way of the hammer, that's why he says "ouch!".
You are going to absolutely love this franchise if you choose to watch the rest.

Heads up for mention of Air America 1990 Mel Gibson, Robert Downey Jr.😏
Two great Mel Gibson movies:
Bird on a Wire
Conspiracy Theory
back in those days food allergies were almost non-existent.
When I first saw this movie "I'm too old for this shit!" was just a funny line. Now when I'm past 50 it goes through my head almost every day.

Hi Emma. Peter McCallister was played by actor Mitchell Ryan. He was Jim Carrey's boss in Liar, Liar.
One of my top 3 favorite Christmas movies. Good vid
The "heroic" statement is for a scene that was cut from the theatrical release, Riggs shoots a gunman in a school while seemingly trying to get killed.
14:02 This guy is the biker nut from "Mad Max" (1979), the last guy Max got revenge on, right at the end.
1 Best story, 2 best action, 3 best mullet, 4 best villain.
And lastly, your accent is so hot.
this is one of the movies of the 80s, undeniable.
Movies 1 & 2 are great. Movies 3 & 4 are decent sequels. Altogether, still a good film series. Kinda hoping we get a 5th installment that returns more to its original roots to give a more proper conclusion.
Part of the iconic 80s.
If you go back and look at the scene where Riggs jumps off the building, the handcuffs weren't even attached.
And Rigg's hollow point bullet is just a regular round when he loads his gun in the trailer.
@@bossfan49 I know the one he gives to Riann with the red bow is a full metal jacketed round, but I don't remember seeing what he loads into the chamber in his trailer
Not the first "buddy cop" movie...just the best!
I thought 3 and 4 were ok, but u have to watch all 4 to close out the story! 1 is great, 2 is a total gem! Joe pesci makes it!
ok, ok, ok..... whatever you need, Leo gets!!
I have watched this movie many times when it was out on blockbuster lol. Many memories. Thx Emma. Have a most beautiful day.
Not for nothing the won the Oscar for "Best on Screen Duo". The both are Graet Together!
lol Oscar for Best on Screen Duo.
I remember when this franchise first came out. Everyone loved these movies. 😊
My favorite line is after Murtagh says, "God hates me, that's what it is," Riggs replies, "Hate him back, it works for me."
They did musical accents for both Roger and Riggs Roger is old school sax and Riggs is guitar
How did I not realize that until you said it? I've only seen it 20 times! 🤣
While I cannot speak for others, I must say that I love this series of movies
