Activity in the tropics is increasing

Fox 13 meteorologist Tony Sadiku is watching the Pacific and Atlantic as Activity in the Tropics increases. Tony says Hurricane Hillary is closing in on California. The storm could cause significant flooding in parts of Nevada and California. Tony is also watching one system expected to stay around the Caribbean. He also says that a tropical disturbance which is currently by the Caribbean, could bring rain to Florida and Texas.

Here in Palm Beach county, where I've been a full time resident for over 50 years, we are experiencing daily storms unlike anything I've ever seen before. On 8/18/23, we experienced another thunderstorm that brought tropical storm winds and rain, even though it lasted about 15 minutes. Many residents were afraid, hoping it wouldn't inclue DEW fires like the poor residents of Lahaina experienced. NO ONE is safe anymore. ANY town or city could be next in line for a deliberate DEW or manipulated weather ATTACK!

It’s Hilary not Hillary and not everything is about politics
But just for all poops and giggles, for the list of names used in 2021 in the Atlantic, Bill was one of the names (which replaced Bob from 1991) and this year we had Don in the Atlantic. So yeah.
The United Nation’s World Meteorological Organization names Tropical Cyclones for all seven ocean basins. But NOAA’s (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) National Hurricane Center with its Headquarters in Miami, Florida monitors the Tropical Cyclones of the East Pacific and North Atlantic which are named as Hurricanes (even tho Hurricanes, Typhoons, and Tropical Cyclones are all, well, Tropical Cyclones, the one of 3 main kinds of Cyclones meteorologically). When a storm is really bad like Katrina, Sandy, Ida, Ian, etc. it’s name is retired.
