    Mike - Good video. I don't like single track either. I'll take "regular" dirt roads any day.
    Cheers !

    Hey thanks for the tip on the voyager , I’ve noticed my RPM is doing the same thing. I also ride a 430 rr-s 2022. The rough start in the beginning with these bikes, they are tight out of the box . The break in gets better with time . Keep the rubber side down. Like the videos.. Thank you..

    At last some Beta action Mike great to hear you are enjoying it.
    A wake up call doesn,t do us bikers any harm from time to time glad you both survived relatively unscathed although sounds like your ego took a bruising.
    Bit too much pecker info there buddy😅

      That's fair. Saying such things ensures I'll never get monetized which will keep me honest.

    Loving the reviews on the Beta 430. My bank account, not so much, so maybe next summer. :)
    BTW If you have not seen Ryan from FortNine video "How Pigeons Explain a Common Motorcycle Crash," it is well worth the time. I have been riding for over 40 years and found that when I force myself to fully turn my head so I can use both eyes when checking for traffic, I do detect moving vehicles quicker and with more accuracy, including dark vehicles in the shade or against the sun when low in the sky.

      Thanks Rick! I'll have to check out that video. I'm a big fan of his content but haven't seen that one. It was a wake-up call, couldn't believe I could make a mistake like that. The 430 is a great bike! Thank you for taking the time to comment.

    That's a gorgeous area to be riding in - too bad the surface of the trail sucks! I just bought an X-Trainer and am liking it a lot. It's more than enough for me, being a slow rider. Managed to get it street legal here in WI for getting to the closest trails. If I start going farther, I may end up with an RRS someday, though I'd lower it. The X-Trainer is very comfy and easy to ride!

    • @chasingtrail
      @chasingtrail  2 роки тому +1

      It is a beautiful area, for sure. The X-Trainer looks like a blast! We can't even get OHV stickers for 2-strokes here in CA anymore. Plated bikes guarantee I can ride wherever I want. It's very difficult to get a bike plated here unless it comes that way from the factory.

      @@chasingtrail , I live on the MN - WI border, and just to show the differences in states, if I lived in MN and went to a KTM or Beta dealer in MN, they could sell me a 300 XCW, or a 300RR AND get a title and plate from the DMV! Living in WI, my closest Beta dealer is in MN, and they sold the bike without charging sales tax, but I was on my own getting a title and plate. Had to do a song and dance at the DMV but with no physical inspection, I pulled it off. Next time I'll prolly go through SD to save some headaches.

    I think that wandering is your tires. Love the sound of it.

    • @chasingtrail

      Yeah I think you're right. Sounds pretty good for a stock exhaust!

  • @AKAOmnivore
    @AKAOmnivore 2 роки тому +3

    The maxxis tires on these are great as most stock tires go but my rear is chunking after about 250 miles in some spots. I'm over on the wet side of the hill 95% off road. Loving the bike though 22 500 rrs. Beta makes a great bike

    • @chasingtrail
      @chasingtrail  2 роки тому +2

      Agreed, it's a great bike and well setup from factory. My tire is wearing pretty quickly, too. Nice choice on the 500, I came REALLY close to getting that one.

    • @sactoeazy
      @sactoeazy 2 роки тому

      I swapped mine out at 30 hours on my 390. I had slight chunking but nothing really bad.
      Still seemed to work alright but i wanted to get some fresh (non dot) rubber on the bike

      That is the Sacramento River. It begins just a few miles north of there at the Shasta Dam. This is in northern California.

    I've got to get myself out there on the Chappie and actually test my beta 500rs out.. so far it's been all street or highway so I have no idea as to how well my motorcycle will do . Perhaps one day we'll get a chance to hook up and ride but that's not going to happen until I either figure out my Rekluse issues or I take it back to oem clutch.. best 2 u chafing trails lol jkn

    Are we still loving the 430 RR? I was up a the local dealership last weekend, and I am looking for a reason not to buy one!! :)

    • @chasingtrail
      @chasingtrail  Рік тому

      I had to sell it for financial reasons but I still loved the bike and have no reason not to recommend it.

    How do you like that steering damper setup. Does the vibration damping work? Considering one for my bike but cant decide between this or the regular under bar mount.

    • @chasingtrail
      @chasingtrail  2 роки тому +2

      I only rode it once briefly before putting the damping mount on. I didn't notice many vibrations then, either, but I was coming off a KTM which vibrated like crazy in comparison. I got this setup because it's what was available through the Beta Accessories website and the dealer gave me a discount. The only vibrations I really feel are a little through the seat.

    Nice bike. I'm considering to buy Beta 390 or 430. could like higher rev, more sporty 430 but how about fuel economy.
    Is it more thirsty than 390. How is average fuel consumption for your trips.

  • @Racer18crf
    @Racer18crf Рік тому

    I'm stuck between a 430 and a 390. Which do you think would be better for road use to and from trails and slow speed offroading?

    • @chasingtrail
      @chasingtrail  Рік тому +1

      I have only ridden the 430 but most of the feedback I've read/watched suggests the 390 is the easiest to ride with the long stroke motor and lots of low-end torque.

    What gas tank did you buy there ?? And how did you relocate the mapping buttons??

    • @chasingtrail
      @chasingtrail  Рік тому +1

      The gas tank was ordered from the Beta Accessories website. It came with a handlebar relocator for the mapping buttons. Getting the mapping buttons off the default plastic was a bit of a pain.

    Mike, Love the vids. Your mention of a hot starting problem reminded me of this UA-cam video where Beta has a warranty fix for hot starting problems: ua-cam.com/video/V7mEjmbZ1Bw/v-deo.html. It is a pretty simple fix. Might want to talk to Dan about it if it keeps doing it. I had a chat with him yesterday re a Beta RRS 500..sparked by your videos. Throttle on, dude!

    • @chasingtrail
      @chasingtrail  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the heads-up, I've watched a number of his other videos. Good to know. My buddy ZenDiime said his did the same thing on the first ride but hasn't happened to him again since. I just did my first oil change and I also recalibrated the stepper motor so I'll see if it happens again next ride, which I'm planning for Saturday morning. If it's still happening I will definitely reach out to Dan. My local Beta dealer said they were happy to do any warranty work as well.
      I had a very difficult time deciding between the 430 and 500. Glad you've enjoyed the videos. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, I appreciate it!
