Doing those floor slides for overhead mobility for the last ~3 months has made a HUGE difference for me. After years of injury on my right shoulder, I'm finally at a place where I can hold a barbell for squats without pain. Yeah, it was that bad. Still working ankle mobility, and will definitely try that wall stretch today.
I’ve been doing a lot of your stretching/mobility routines recently (while of course modifying what I felt needed to be modified for my own benefit) so this comes at the perfect time 🥰 Your routines are probably the only ones I’ve ever done that are actually functional where I feel like the stretches my body needs are actually included!
Wow... I didn't realize how bad my overhead mobility was until I tried to do those floor slides and I couldn't get my hands on the ground definitely gonna be working on this
Great video as always Justina :) I just have a quick question: why don't you like fabric bands? I have latex bands but was considering buying fabric ones hahaha but your comment stopped me!
Hi! I am so glad I found you! You help me stop being afraid of lifting heavier weights, saved me from a bad youtuber exercises and introduce me to the good ones like you. I am starting to feel strong and have a lot less back and knee pain, so muchas gracias! On a side note, why you hate fabric bands? Is just the feeling or they don't work as well? and about foam rollers, can a person use a foam roller with texture or spikes on it the same way as one without texture? Thank you again!
Ha! I spied couple that I can do even with my restricted movement. Got my back surgery done and let me tell you, the amount of movement allowed is super boring. Also really slow going as to what can be started. Basically it's 4 movements and walking. Boring af.
Great content! Since watching your Pilates videos I would love to hear your opinion on various Pilates UA-camrs, esp Linda Wooldridge. Thank you for all you do to guide your viewers on their fitness journey!
Thanks Judith! Unfortunately not many Pilates UA-camrs are certified, which is a huge red flag for me. I just looked up Linda (never heard of her) and I can't find any certifications on her website, social media, or "about" section. That's typically an indicator that she does not have any.
I love this! Absolutely going to do these mobility drills. Justina - I love your channel and content. Could you do a video on your thoughts on F45? Its a “functional” 45 min exercise class gym and I’d love to see your thoughts!
Thanks! I had one a while back but I think I deleted it bc it was terrible 😂 overall, I love their programming! But the coaches really vary in skill at each location.
@@JustinaErcole haha definitely agree with this! I started in June and LOVE it! Great to get people unfamiliar with functional strength training into fitness!
Hey! I've never tried her app but I really dislike Lilly's business model. She makes false promises and misleading clickbait AND is a physiotherapist. It's incredibly irresponsible and insulting to others in her position.
I’m a yoga teacher and I have my students still do the yogi squat but I make them sit on a couple yoga blocks to elevate their bums a bit. Seems to help.
I personally chose a foam roll that’s not too hard as my first one since some foam rollers are really hard and I think it might be difficult for someone who’s not used to them, kind of like how you don’t wanna pick too heavy weights when you’re practicing your form But again it’s all about preference! I just figured I’d mention it 😊
@@JustinaErcole makes sense I like them for doing certain things but the one you use is definitely more versatile! Thanks for making such great content I’m slowly starting to workout more after recovering from surgery and I missed working out with you via UA-cam!
Hi Justina, love this video! Do you have any drills / exercise suggestions for uneven hips and scoliosis (maybe can even make a video about it)? I've seen many PTs but unfortunately with little improvement. I lift very heavy relative to my weight and I'm never sure if I'm exacerbating my imbalances through heavy lifting, or I should be more relaxed about imbalances as long as I'm not in pain. Thanks!

Christine that's amazing!
This is amazing, so helpful. Thank you!
You're so welcome Sara!
Thank you for this! I'll definitely be trying those overhead mobility suggestions. I've been struggling with that.
Hope they help!

I just don’t find them super versatile. Ask what you want to do with them and then that can influence your decision :)
I have been needing this. -Signed, My hips and my ankle!
hahaha my regards to your hips and ankles :)
These are VERY helpful. Thank you Justina!!
You’re so welcome!
I'm putting these in my daily routine!!
Love that!

Hey! So I don’t like fabric bands because I don’t find they’re as versatile. And I would suggest picking the roller you enjoy most :)
@@JustinaErcole Thank you for your response and for sharing your knowledge!
What can I say? BINGO! I have all 3🤦🏻♀️ At least now I know how to fix that, if I am being consistent.
You got this!
Do you still use your chirp wheel for the back?
Yep!
Ha! I spied couple that I can do even with my restricted movement. Got my back surgery done and let me tell you, the amount of movement allowed is super boring. Also really slow going as to what can be started. Basically it's 4 movements and walking. Boring af.
Better to recover than hurt yourself again though!
If you have a mild rotator cuff injury, would you still recommend the overhead stretches in the video?
Check with your physical therapist :)

If I can’t keep my heels on the floor during the yogi squats should I skip them or keep trying till I can do it?
Work on your ankle mobility first :)

How do I know which foam roll to choose? Would you like to mention this in your next video?
Whichever one you prefer! I'd recommend trying them out and seeing which type you enjoy.

Hey! Unfortunately I’m not qualified to work with scoliosis. That’s definitely more in the wheelhouse of a PT. Sorry I’m not more help!

Hahaha I mean, it’s not attractive lol
👍🥰🥰🥰
