I'm so glad this high quality video was posted. I was at this great show and Dweezil had some great guests play with the band. When he introduced Phil X to the crowd I was elated, but Phil only got a smattering of applause. I was shocked, but I figured that a Zappa crowd probably isn't familiar with him. Then they played... by the time the song was over, it was an audience of Phil X fans! Standing ovation!! Go Phil!!
Dweezil is using AXEFXIII with 4 QSC K2.12 PA speakers. 2000 watts each with a single 12" driver with a titanium horn. What a crazy guitar rig. 8000 Watts? Sickness.
@@Starch1b2c3d4a What do you mean he's getting Van Halen studio album tone on steroids and he plays all of Eddie's shit like a surgeon. You're either jealous or dumb or both.
Holy Hanna, that was so good I didn't need coffee this am! You guys ripped the floors up non that. Great interplay w Dweez & Phil. Mama aZAPPA Lifer so I am giving total creeds!
@@tbone1780 why? Phil X is just overplayed nonsense. There’s more to guitar than shredding and chugging notes. Something I’ve certainly learned on my guitar journey over the past 30 years.
@kingsecho3351 why don't you give us a link so we can check out your virtuosity on the instrument, then we can figure out for ourselves which hole you're talkin out of.
😳 that was incredible! Thank you so much for posting. Seriously, I believe that was the most amazing piece of musical talent I’ve ever seen and heard. Frank is smiling and that I am sure of.
Dweezil can you offer us some historical insights? Was it really Jack Bruce who played bass on the original record? And it was just him and your dad jamming? Also, why the name Apostrophe?
BTW, you should do an interview with Chanan Hanspal. He got a doctorate doing a thesis on your dad's classical compositions and knows his writing at the most in-depth level. He's already interviewed Steve Vai and Andy Partridge of XTC. You guys would have a lot to talk about!

@@WOTHFPV yea your definitely not. Most people are too scared to say what they think and I understand why. As a guitarist and multi instrumentalist of 30 plus years I can say it’s not about the number and speed of notes it’s playing notes that fit and serve the song like a landscape . I like to pull out the shredding stuff every now and then for surprise. I have never once thought I would like to learn how to sweep pick.
Phil X is the over enthusiastic talented friend you had growing up who could only be tolerated for the evening. Some people have cool and some try to have cool, Phil is the latter. Side note. whoever mixed this Phil's guitar was not as loud as Dweezil's. Long Live Bon Jovi lol!
Thank you, Dweezil, for keeping your father's music alive and for inviting so many talented guests to play it with you!!!!
Phil X is a beast. Dweezil is a master. Wild combo, incredible results!
Phil X and Dweezil ,possibly the planets two most psyched guitarists, thanks fellas!

The technicality of Dweezil combined with the wing it of Phil X! Magnificent! Now all we need is the lunacy of Corey Feldman!
😮😅🤣😂
No we don't.
Corey Feldman 🤣🤣🤣
Phil is such a natural rock star. Great display of playing by everyone involved
Thanks for bringing ROCK back! Awesome!
Bout time. Loved the Beato interview
Dweezil, that guitar, in your hands, sounds magnificent!
Phil is an absolute beast. This is exceptional.
Dweezil is so goddamn underrated!
to hear this music run through modern equipment and gear is frickin amazing!
Love you, Dweezil. Great performance.

Love the sound of Franks SG with the phase phucker switch
Nice metal dualling🔱
Now that’s rock n roll. Play some more of that!
Seriously incredible and awesome 👏 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
When the entire band has old school curly cables you know you are in for some serious psychedelic rock.
Nicely done, Dweezil! Camera shots look fantastic ( editing is perfect )! Sounds superb. Looking forward to the whole enchilada!
Wow! That was fun. Rock some more please.
Yes!!!!! More of this !!!
I just smiled all the way through that 😊

PhilX said some interview he likes of surprises.
In this solo a lot of them❤🎸. I heard even AC/DC Thunderstruck😂🙏.
Gosh, that sounds incredible!
Phil is amazing but damn, Dweezil, you are on a whole other level.
Love it!!!

The way I see it, Barry.. this should be a very dynamite show.
Save some rock ‘n’ roll for the rest of us 😂
This is what I was going to say, I literally enjoy these super bands/ colab. much more than other ((well known very famous bands)).
I ❤ APOSTROPHE'
F*ck, that gave me the bumps. That smile on your face looks good Dweezil, you should do that more on stage....
That was incredible 🤘🤘
Amazing!!
OK...this FUCKING ROCKS! Two beasts on the guitar - love it!
Dad's old guitar still sounds pretty good!
Cuts like a knife. Phil X guitar sounded thin and weak compared Dweezil's. Even both are SG models ?
YEAH MAN! 🤘
Pardon my French.. FUCK!!! That was badass!!! Awesome!! Totally Awesome! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Fantastic!
Holy f*ck!! Outstanding!!
Those notes at 3min 58- 59 sec in video are truly special and magical. Sounds mean and nasty when it eases on out. Way cool!
DAMN ! The boy can play, he rips !!!
SUPER ❤❤❤
Intense!
That was fun.
Love this!
Dweezil has amazing tone
Awesome
My guitar is going directly to the bandsaw.😳
Or just practice more.
😂 But it depends on the goals. I play for my mental health🙏

thank you for the Video !!!!
More?
Dweezil's adaptation of what wasn't meant for guitar in Frank's music has made him a one of a kind guitar player! Totally unpredictable!

A Drumeo tem que chamar esse baterista. Ele é muito bom.
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious !!!
I think Phil copped that move at 4:43 from Ruth Underwood. Never underestimate a vibraphone player.
Bring on Terry Bozzio on the next 😁👍🏻
Dude you and Irwin are gonna slam!
It's time for Dweezil to let that cool hair of his grow long again. It's been a while. Time for a return of the long hair. 😃
Ain't nuthin' wrong with that!
Thus was great! Being a drummer myself, I like to know who the drummers are in the bands I am watching. Does anyone know who he is?
Ryan Brown, the best drummer Dweezil ever had, I think he joined in 2013, check him out
Does fun belong in music? 😉
Yes and humour👍

The song and the context allow that attitude. It was just his choice.
