It's actually kinda sad . He had to tour most of the time to make a living . Moon Unit hardly saw her Dad . It was her idea to do a song with him and she just wanted to spend some time with him . She is one of the oldest kids , which meant she had to be like a second mom of the house while he was gone .
In the last 20 years or so I've come to view Frank Zappa as not only a brilliant musician and thinker, but in many ways, a type of prophet. It's so sad that he was taken so soon.

Actually, aspartame breaks down into two chemicals in the human body. Methyl alcohol is one, formaldehyde is the other. But at least the soft drinks that contain it are low in calories, that’s what is most important.
David Brenner and Frank Zappa were two of the nicest, warmest men you could ever met! ( I say this because I was blessed enough to meet them both, honestly! ) ~ I miss them both terribly! ~Thank God for their wisdom and humor!!
Moon and Dweezil obviously love their genius Dad, then and now, but I couldn't help notice it was hard for them to answer what their favorite memory was growing up in their house. There's a good reason for that. I recommend anyone who's a fan of Frank's to read Moon's new book "Earth to Moon", it's quite a journey and gives a fuller picture of their family life.
Seeing this makes me realize Frank wouldn't be happy that Dweezil and Moon have been treated dismally after Gail passed away regarding estate control and use of the name Zappa. The estate should be in Dweezil and Moon's hands along with Ahmet and Diva and I'd prefer Dweezil be in charge of the vault instead of others like drummer Joe Travers.

It's pretty wild how grounded Frank's kids were. Frank never let celebrity even register. By chance I saw Dweezil decades later on Celebrity Wife Swap, and it was nuts: he and his wife were so normal and down to earth, living in a small house snd charitable in such a hands-on way, while the other family was your typical wildly excessive celeb family. A family of genius
Huge mind, obviously.
Watching this after reading moon units book. Tragic story.
I don't know about you, but I want to join up for life insurance with Colonial Penn. Great to see a really old ad without all the bells n whistles.
Ed Mc Mahon!
He really was ahead of his time. A wise man.
I am in the process of listening to Moons audiobook.
And this is probably some of the most interaction that they’ve had with Frank.
Notice when David Brenner asked them what it’s like having Frank as a parent,
They are totally dumbfounded, to know what to say.
"Cereal murderers?"
Watch out, Captain Crunch! 😮
I always like to say "what would Jesus say" I think if he was to come back now, there would be hell to pay! Oh almost forgot, love you Frank Zappa! Rest in peace!!
hoffer54 Jesus thinks you’re a jerk
Brenner seems like a genuine person, down to earth - good engaged host. Too bad his show didn’t last ... or did it?
whoa - - didn't expect to see Alexander O'neal in the Band !!
saw zappa in '81 and '88....still the best concerts I ever went to....only john mclaughlin came close, overall....
Frank showed me music should be fun but also you can convey a message, he never poked fun out of people who didn't ask for it or deserved it. Who needs organized politics or religion, listen to zappa bowie reed Lennon marley to name but a few
Came here for the information on Colonial Penn.
Back then everything was opposite when it comes to politics.
"In the future, we'll be able to control our environment"...
in a radio interview just prior to one'a his showsFZ reveled he was pro-draft bcuz he believed an all- vollunteer army was incredibly dangerous
This is so sweet
If aliens came to earth and saw just the first few minutes of this, they would conclude that humans have huge noses...
Zappa was a genius
First concert I ever went to.
frank lol he was a good shit
A very sound human being.
Respect ✊
Ed McMahon was HOT!! :)
If nothing else, I forgot David Brenner had a talk show once ...
Never knew David Brenner had his own talk show.
I knew, but forgot for like over 25 years!
I wonder what Frank would think of Trump
My sentiments exactly. I know, at the very least, that he'd be having a ball making fun of him. Probably release a whole theme album on his ass.
Well he is a jew , so naturally , he would despise him.
odenirongiant I don't think he was jewish
....and muslims? Religion?
odenirongiant maybe you’ve been enlightened to see Trump is a huge fan of Israel. Unlike Obama.
fz got me all pamphlet+obsessed
It's pretty wild how grounded Frank's kids were. Frank never let celebrity even register. By chance I saw Dweezil decades later on Celebrity Wife Swap, and it was nuts: he and his wife were so normal and down to earth, living in a small house snd charitable in such a hands-on way, while the other family was your typical wildly excessive celeb family. Credit to Frank and to Dweezil. Here's that episode (not free, sadly): ua-cam.com/video/OrlE4KXDL90/v-deo.htmlsi=1qkYl7bWIJooOWci
Like oh mya gawd
Those 1980s hair styles are funny.
Why are people not talking about the Colonial Penn Life Insurance advert? lol. The way the actor looks at himself in the next room.
Mark Latham I remember those ads. I wonder if that was a genuine company or a scam. Ed McMahon said ages 50-80. Back in 1986 those were people born 1906-1936 in 2019 1939-1969 ( Dweezil’s age) . I wonder if people put $6.85 a month back then how it would accumulate in 2019?
@@analogkid4957 I've never lived in America, never saw the ad before, but I believe that Americans have been scammed by insurance companies for too long.
Yes weird shit going on with Ed Mcmahon.
he would of been ,The Best PREZ
