I have a dodge avenger 99. I love it. My mom had hers for 10 treats till she crashed it. Still runs. We Have another one which is mine. Bought it for 1800 in San Marcos. She runs like a champ
Does Dodge avenger returns it has a 2.5 l V6 it's made by Mitsubishi as you can see it's got the Mitsubishi logo from this generation of the Dodge avenger as you can see it's got the Dodge logo and it has an AM FM radio with CD and cassette player
Very common; including in many cars that get old. The throttle bodies and IACs need to be cleaned and sometimes they fail. Certain IACs are just a portion of unit while sometimes you need to unbolt the whole deal from the throttle body and replace the entire thing. A cost from 30 to over 120 bucks and then some depending on the design. Not a hard fix, but can render a car feeble if you cannot two foot it constantly.
@saabkyle04 the 2.7 V6 engines are the ones that give the sludge problems along with Timing Chain/water pump failures. Some people get them to last 200k+ but most seize up and are locked way before that. Whats surprising is when those engines are running fine they're silky smooth. As smooth as a the VQ30 engines in the Nissans.
Try and find someone who needs it for a parts car I don't see these cars at all and i assume if theirs any running examples left the owners would appreciate being able to find new body panels and other more crucial bits.
ohh had a 97 with carbon fiber hood cold air intake 3 inch exaust black with grey lether 18 inch black rims with falkin rubber and custom front clip I miss it every day
If its the 2.5 , Its probably the Crankshaft position sensor. I dont know exactly what the car is doing but mine suddently acted weird 2 times since i got it. Just missfire alot when reaching normal operation temperature and eventually stalls. Then start just fine. Never did it again.
See, mine was on a Geo Prizm (Corolla rebadge) and the whole IAC cost me over a hundred bucks. No one ever bothered to clean the throttle body or IAC, and it made things annoying making the thing "relearn" its own idle. The primitive computer literally requires you to idle in D for upwards of 20 minutes as it stumbles bumbles and finally smooths out. I thought it was a lie that something would take that long to "learn", but it really does in some cars.
Strange. I read up on past Dodge vehicles and the Avenger certainly didn't do well with Consumer reports in terms of reliability or engine performance after a long period of time (years)
At least that car would have stalled in a parking lot. We had an '01 Honda Odyssey that had a transmission issue, the transmission overheated in the middle of a major highway and the car would not accelerate at all. The D4 light kept blinking, the transmission slipped, knocked, it pretty much was totaled. LOL
I have a 1998 avenger es and it has 180,000 i have never had a major problem with it. Sometimes when i gas it and let off the idle drops kinda low but it has never died.
***Classified*** if you watch that guage further in the video it appears as if itd broken, no way the car stalls out and keeps oil pressure not running.
I am having the exact same problem with my 96 avenger, im thinking IAC i am going to change that and see if it works. Did you ever pin point the problem?
Sorry but I have a 96 avenger es well over 160,000 on it never had a problem and mine is one of the fastest cars on the road in Philly sorry to say I didn't change much just put work into the shot that's stock on the engine and trans unbeleivably smooth unbelievably fast
-Takes car to mechanic-.... Kyle: Hi sir, Im here to pick up my 2000 avanger. Mechanic: Oh yeah! It took quite some time but we were able to diagnose the problem sir! Kyle: Well what seems to be the problem sir? Mechanic : We have determined a major issue with the motor sir. Kyle: What is it sir? Mechanic : Its a mitsubishi motor sir! Kyle : Uh oh! As you can see im really bored. LMAO!
He did a Awesome job 👏 on the detailing all he has to fix where once you start it up it stays on
Its good to see the old dodge avenger , they domt make them like that anymore, i own a dodge avenger 2014 brand new for my birthday :) .
I have a dodge avenger 99. I love it. My mom had hers for 10 treats till she crashed it. Still runs. We Have another one which is mine. Bought it for 1800 in San Marcos. She runs like a champ
Wow, that's a lot of treats!!
"Dodge Avenger Returns"... here to avenge its death.
Does Dodge avenger returns it has a 2.5 l V6 it's made by Mitsubishi as you can see it's got the Mitsubishi logo from this generation of the Dodge avenger as you can see it's got the Dodge logo and it has an AM FM radio with CD and cassette player
So nice to see these cars again, really weird though that it just dies like that and then idles well.
3:37 I like that startup
I love that chime!🔔

@saabkyle04 the 2.7 V6 engines are the ones that give the sludge problems along with Timing Chain/water pump failures. Some people get them to last 200k+ but most seize up and are locked way before that. Whats surprising is when those engines are running fine they're silky smooth. As smooth as a the VQ30 engines in the Nissans.
That not a 2.7 that the 2.5 6G73 engine form Mitsubishi
I think they didn’t offer a 2.7 at that time
@@alphadiallo7787only in the LH II (Intrepid and Concord)
man when alabama comes in the radio you let it play
this is great now the driver never fall in sleep while driving
Try and find someone who needs it for a parts car

That engine was used on the chrysler cirrus, dodge startus, chrysler sebring, years 1995-2000
5:50 I like that song
It's mountain music
You should play that song sped up to 1x05
Speed the ending of mountain music up 1x05
You should do a review on the 1992 eagle talon tsi awd would love to see it
0:53 I like that chime
Thats my dream car my aunt had one brand new and kept it for 9 years and gave it to my cousin until his girlfriend wrecked it!
ohh had a 97 with carbon fiber hood cold air intake 3 inch exaust black with grey lether 18 inch black rims with falkin rubber and custom front clip I miss it every day
Though It won't stay running, it's got a pretty good souding engine...
Those are some of the best sounding, in my opinion. Those and the late 80s/early 90s GM V6's. The 3100, 3400, 3800.
hmmm, I would say based on this update the car is not holding up all that well. Hopefully your mechanic can get it running like new again.
Usually you say "Attempt to start" if it doesn't start, but it did.
This best car made in the last 100 years
The avenger wasn’t made 100 years ago stupid bitch
Why is that shifter sooo massive??? 😱😱😱😱😱😱
If its the 2.5 , Its probably the Crankshaft position sensor. I dont know exactly what the car is doing but mine suddently acted weird 2 times since i got it. Just missfire alot when reaching normal operation temperature and eventually stalls. Then start just fine. Never did it again.
mine was the 2.0 I4 engine and i loved it i miss my old car
This car reminds me of a Mitsubishi Eclipse
Its basically an eclipse american version
Neat little car
My first car 😂 I had a sunroof and clean wheels fully decked out and system, limo tint 😎 😂😂😂😂
@saabkyle04 the sludge prone engine is the Chrysler 2.7. Those were horrible!
See, mine was on a Geo Prizm (Corolla rebadge) and the whole IAC cost me over a hundred bucks. No one ever bothered to clean the throttle body or IAC, and it made things annoying making the thing "relearn" its own idle. Damn. Your's is in much nicer condition than my 99 Avenger. lol Now it's even downshifting to first randomly and gets stuck there.
Strange. I read up on past Dodge vehicles and the Avenger certainly didn't do well with Consumer reports in terms of reliability or engine performance after a long period of time (years)
@saabkyle04 Nah, the sludge prone engine is the 2.7 CHRYSLER V6, Mitsu did not make that one. Did you ever solve the idling issues?
At least that car would have stalled in a parking lot. We had an '01 Honda Odyssey that had a transmission issue, the transmission overheated in the middle of a major highway and the car would not accelerate at all. The D4 light kept blinking, the transmission slipped, knocked, it pretty much was totaled. LOL
that sounds like the idle air control valve is going bad... ive replaced em before... idk... it would make the check engine light come on
hey kyle, where did you get your camera, and about how much? just curious so i can upload some videos. thanks.
The chime when you start the car, it sounds like an alarm clock.
the transmission on the 1995-2000 Dodge Avenger
Transmission
5-speed manual
4-speed 41TE automatic
It’s the PCM the same thing happened to my 1997 Ford Thunderbird
i like the styling of these cars but can't get past the Weak V6 engine..isn't this 2.5 also used in the Cirrus?
surprised that didn't set a code and turn the service engine light on
I have a 1998 avenger es and it has 180,000 i have never had a major problem with it. Sometimes when i gas it and let off the idle drops kinda low but it has never died.
That`s the 2.7 you`re thinking of. This is a 2.5l engine made by Mitsubishi, so it hasn't been contaminated! haha!
thank you for this post I know now that all chryslers are a tin of beans . thought maybe because the engine is mitsubishi I'd be better but nooope.
Hey Saabkyle04, do you still have this car by any chance?
@1:02 no oil pressure?
***Classified*** if you watch that guage further in the video it appears as if itd broken, no way the car stalls out and keeps oil pressure not running.
This happened on my dads car and we got it fixed. It was the engine cradle wiring.
it kinda sounds like a bad fuel pump because with a bad fuel delivery, the car will shut off after it reaches normal operating temp.
What's that song when you play from the CD?
Poor little dodge, take it out of it's missery :P
Nappy Roots Feat. Anthony Hamilton - Po' Folks
I am having the exact same problem with my 96 avenger, im thinking IAC i am going to change that and see if it works. Did you ever pin point the problem?
i like the kicks.
Does the Mechanic come with the car? I had a 98 Avenger once and It gave me nothing but problems so, I traded it in for a NISSAN.... FTW!!!
Sorry but I have a 96 avenger es well over 160,000 on it never had a problem and mine is one of the fastest cars on the road in Philly sorry to say I didn't change much just put work into the shot that's stock on the engine and trans unbeleivably smooth unbelievably fast
Could you review the new avenger? :[
I am thinking it's the fuel pump and it's losing fuel pressure.
Is there space under the back seat. ..how big if so
What happened to the original key i saw a while ago?
@ABVNRML2U I am thinking about buying a 98 that I've found actually... What problems did you have?
What is going on with it
@newpage123 after some work those cars aint too bad. I knew a guy that had his 99 avenger fully tricked out. Turbo, body kit and such.
looks like it needs a fuel filter. if the problem was a sensor the MIL malfuntion indacatior light will be on.
The door panels look like a 2000 chevy cameros door panel
I think the car might be running out of gas
Kyle you should do a video on my Chrysler LHS :3
i have the same engine i have the same problem cant figure it out.
Can't find one like this anymore :/
The Original Avenger.
@Fred924 Yep and they have a rankest valve knock
"Some nut-some time now"
Vacuum leak or IAC issue most likely.
Please check the alternator this happend to our car
This Dodge Avenjor had the coronavirus, and that is why it was dying so much!
Kyle is handsome
My 21 year old brother has one as well
I wonder why this car keeps dying
I’ve never seen this car in my life :0
man I used to own one back in 99
Probabbly the same thing with the mitsubishi eclipse
Sounds like a fuel issue.
i this its 1 of those cars u have 2 let sit and run 4 a min b4 u take off and drive it
Starting the car thoughts: START U OLD PIECEA CHRYSTER DIARIHA
AngelofSpeed DC5 Type R it's a mitsubishi

As you can see im really bored. LMAO!
It’s the dealership’s car. He owned either a 2007 Lexus or a 2010 Hyundai Genesis back then.
now I see why she traded it back in XD
3:39 ARRRGH F**KING START
dodge always had problems. good luck.
It dies while he drives it.
this is actually a rebadged mitsubishi eclipse
@Jakeman2164 haha I didn't notice that lol.
man that car is in bad shape mine has 153xxx miles on it and i have never had problems like this
@saabkyle04 I have a 3.0 v6 in my mini van and its awesome the only good thing thats left on the car.
@saabkyle04 the 2.7 lol
Looks like a baby viper
my car does the same thing
My car does it too
@saabkyle04 man they are so horrible. I've got a 96 avenger . Them engines always need some kind of work.
Probably a fuel pump
i buy one of the these 3 year ago , for the look sell it after 3 month , drinks more then me and so sloooow
Clogged fuel filter.
