Erin, I have an idea. Before you mud the walls of Ellie's nook, you could pull the sheet rock and install an outlet and video line and hang a virtual window on that wall. A LCD screen playing views outside could create a great open feeling. Some LCD screens will even play images off a USB thumb drive.

I feel your excitement, sheetrock makes the inside look brighter. I grew up in a blue collar family, my Dad was a carpenter, I learned very young how to work with my hands while helping my Dad, I eagerly look for your next videos and hope the windows get there soon. You have a wonderful family, your daughter is a cutie and those blue eyes. As a grandpa, I was constantly worrying about your kids and safety, but it is evident that you two have everything under control. Josh's attitude as it relates to workplace safety is spot on. Appropriate personal workplace safety is a must. You guys rock!

The drywall gives a better perspective of how the finished product will look, it's going to look great with all the wood and wall board.
Your family is a great example of what a marriage between husband and wife is meant to be, a great example to your kids of how you work together. That type of relationship is fading away in our society, but families like yours is something that both men and wemon should aspire to be. Husbands Love your wife as being one flesh with you (as yourself) and wife's Respect and Love your husband being a helpmate to him. I'm really glad to have found your videos because it is inspiring to me and others of how wonderful a marriage can be when you have the right mate with the right attitude for life!!! I love how great you two work together and get so much done and there are other couples who can't even agree on anything and get any of their work done as a couple. Your baby girl is starting off early trying to be like Mommy and that is good that she is interested. Rural couples are much better than urban couples and stay together longer also. If I had married a local rural woman I would most likely still be married. I like the way you all kid each other and use laughter to keep the relationship sound. I love the inside of your house is looking and you all must be so happy with the progress you all are making.

You are making great progress. I started taping my project a few days ago and have all the tape done. Tomorrow I start on the metal corner beads and then on to the finish coatings. BTW, I bought a Rotozip and it sure makes cutting the holes for lights and outlets easy. Your little one reminds me of our granddaughter about 2 years ago. They are so cute at that age. My wife was amazed when Erin carried those sheets of drywall and hoisted them up to Josh. I think I'm going to enjoy watching you tape and mud.

My dad was a gc and i helped him a lot as a younger woman. he's 6'4 and I'm 5'11 so we could hang drywall most of the time without a ladder lol.

Yes when women allows themselves to do what they want, we can choose to do anything. Unfortunately it's common to think girls and women should not or could not do/be X Y Z... And maybe we should remind that there is also men that are not into that kind of works and who don't like to get dirty and...it's okay !

As long as you stay reasonable and understand the physical differences,choose to do anything isnt reality, the "we can do anything a man can do" attitude is a growing problem in this world, while the men become more feminine , its sad really what has happened. You cant choose to play in the NFL, no matter how hard and long you train its not physically possible, you cant choose to compete in mens weight lifting competitions, pretty much any physical competitive activity, thats why women fought so hard to have their own sports leagues ...women like this one are beautiful because she is feminine ,works hard, gave this man a beautiful family, is willing to learn and laugh, humble and understands her role in the bigger picture... Women can be just about anything, but they cant be a man, and vice versa, god bless.

As u walked thru ur new home headed 4 the door u started turning off switches & lights over ur heads went off one @ a time. Click dark, click dark then last switch off & door closes. A drill/driver with a sheetrock tip (clutch & depth settable) would be a time saver. I hate going back for the drill when I'm taping. Maybe you're superior and get all your screws to set right but I'm challenged.

See how they are raising their daughter? Playing with trucks, learning the drill. My daughter looks beautiful and does all the improvements in her house alone, her husband isn't handy. She saw her parents flip houses and I taught her to plaster and paint and do woodworking and her Dad taught her plumbing and electric. That's how she was raised, to work hard and even though she doesn't have to she likes it.
You guys are amazing, very proud of you both. Josh keep working on your dance moves. By the time your finish you should have a whole routine ready for us.

For ease of locating the box opening I use lipstick on the edge of the box, line up the drywall and push. Then just cut out the transferred line

Just a suggestion. Run your drywall with minimizing the seams and the two ends butting together. They are much harder to feather out than the tapered side to side pieces. One door in this video could have reduced taping and mudding by a lot. Run it vertical on both sides and only taping would be over top of door instead of 3 feet or so horizontal. I too hate drywall but I have gotten pretty good at it over the years. Good luck.
