I think the reason your channel is so popular is because its not about the build so much as about the journey you are on. Its a very human story full of normal stuff. I helped out building a driftwood pirate ship on the beach at New Brighton Merseyside. Doing something with the dicarded branches on your farm would keep your sons very busy. There was about 8 of us adults involved in building the Black Pearl and it took 5 months but it was 53 feet long and 15 feet wide in the middle. Sadly a storm wrecked it in early March 2020 and we haven't been able to replace it.
I loved the video. I think the way you ended it was just brilliant - Ellie turning off her night light and then darkness - broken by the moon light ... Simply Brilliant!
Well - I suspect, she will show other genes from her father. I was wondering a little bit - with my kids it was: Boy tends more to mother, girl tends more to me.

The bed can be converted into shelves so you don’t have to worry about the holes in the floor then make her another bed for her permanent room. The shelves can be slide out for ease of use later on. Like you said earlier, everything is multipurpose.
Ellie's room space is so precious. Her new bed with the beautiful comforter set, her flowered wall hook, her little lamp, and her things stored neatly underneath it all. At first I wondered about the black bolts sticking out, then tJosh put the washers on and it looked great. All the hardware you picked out gives it that castle ( Princess) look. In 2018 we sold our house in Arlington VA and retired to New Hampshire where we bought an old cape and barn ( built in 1800). We paid a builder for certain renovations and the barn has become my wife’s weaving / spinning studio. I have been doing renovations on other parts of the house myself and your videos have been a great inspiration to me. Keep it going! You guys are the greatest!

Being an electrician also, Channellock's are worth their weight in gold. I work offshore on a drill ship and carry a small crescent, 11 in 1 screw driver, small Channellock's and a volt meter. If it takes more than that you have a mechanical problem. I enjoy watching your show during these long extended times at work. Happy new year

I'm with you on those damn channel locks. Using a socket not only helps not round off fasteners, but it also preserves the coating and saves future Josh from needing an angle grinder to remove rusted fasteners.
Great project! Ellie is so cute! Josh did use the impact driver on the lag bolts... I'm with Erin: use the right tools - it really does make things easier, and keeps from marring the workpieces. On the holes in the floors: you could plug 'em later. Drill the hole with a forstner bit, cut some plugs from scrap flooring material (try to match the grain!) using a plug cutter, fit/glue the plugs in the holes aligning the grain, sand flush & finish, and you'll hardly see 'em.
You two remind me so much of hubby and myself, work well together, humor, compassion, and most of all love! So refreshing, you don't need any more sub's but you got another anyway ;) Blessings!!
