I’m an A’s fan, and I felt so humiliated after German threw the perfect game. It felt worse that people were saying “it’s the A’s so the perfect game doesn’t count” lol
It was kind of a weird one because a lot of neutral fans were very underwhelmed with it, especially after such a long Perfect Game drought. I will say, I think people were saying it didn’t count more so to discredit Germán, not hate on the A’s (although it still kinda is hating on the A’s)
My favorite thing about the Felix’s perfecto is Dave Sims call entering the bottom of the 8th and when the game ends. “He is 3 outs away from immortality” and “the Seattle Mariner’s Felix Hernadez the 2-2. He got em, 34 years, 119 games, it’s finally happened. A perfect game by a Seattle Mariner, it was done by the king.” As well as Tom Wilhelmsen talks about how Felix’s hat was cool, no sweat. My ace, my franchise pitcher, my hall of famer.
It might be one of my favorite moments in baseball history, I knew I had to let it play out with Harrelson’s call cause I wasn’t gonna do it justice myself
I agree that the early defensive plays feel a lot more important. Realistically, not many fielders are going to go all-out on a play in the first few innings. Makes it feel a lot more impactful. This was a great video 👍
Great video! One thing I would say is in Braden’s perfect game, while catching that foul ball was a great defensive play, I don’t think it was the most pivotal because if he doesn’t get too it, it would just be a foul ball and the perfect game is still intact.
Thank you and good point, I think I was influenced too much by the uniqueness of that play only being something that can happen in the Coliseum. I’d likely change it to the first inning play if I were to redo it.
But if it did just drop for a foul ball, what if Carlos Pena managed to get a hit on a later pitch in that at bat? I honestly still think it was pivotal just for that reason.
Given how bad the Yankees were playing in 2023, I only came in to my dad watching the game around the 4th and saw they were winning. My dad told me that Domingo was perfect so far, and I didn't think much of it. Still, I decided to sit in and watch the rest of the game, staying up late to see what happened. I couldn't believe I saw it. In a season full of heartbreak that was something exciting.
The Mario kart music behind halladays perfect game had woke me up. I thought I was dreaming. Video game music behind them but low enough you don’t notice without really listening was a nice slick touch
I'm really liking this so far, just a small note for the future: you should turn the volume up a bit on the game audio. Let the crowd carry the Dewayne Wise bit.
This was a really great video. I also don't think Felix had a Hall Of Fame career, but he did make The Mariners Hall Of Fame already. So that's cool. It's also funny that Dallas Braden and David Wells have both said they were hungover during their Perfect Games and, given everything that followed for Domingo Germán, I wouldn't rule out the possibility that he was hungover as well. Pitchers should probably just pitch hungover more often.
Appreciate it! All the background music I use is from various video game soundtracks, it's all listed in the description labeled by the chapter it appears under and the order it appeared within that chapter. (Ex: 3.3 would be the Buehrle chapter of the video and the third song that played in that chapter).
59:32 ... Ahem. *statement not valid in Michigan due to gubernatorial decree stating that as far as the State of Michigan is concerned, it IS an official perfect game*
Kershaw would of had one if Rojas was playing ss instead of Hanley. Hanley refused to play anywhere other ss even though he was bad there and Rojas who can only play d was at 3rd
Perfect timing on the video. Needed something to watch while I sit in the throne. 😂
I hope you've got an hour to spare lmao
@@ABrandNewBallGame I'm the only one home right now.... I've got all the time in the world 😅 🚽⚾
Armando Galarraga not being in this video is so sad 😔
He was at the end
Same for rich hill
Max Scherzer will cry in the corner.
It really is ❤
Watch to the end
Thank you for including Armando Gallaraga!
It means quite a bit to Tigers fans like myself :)
*thumbs-up*
Great video man your channel is too underrated
That means a ton, thank you!

Liked video immediately because of the Mario Galaxy music @0:01
Not the metroid prime music 😂😂😂 great video
32:30 love the music choice here lol
Dallas Braden’s perfect game is always gonna be the most special to me. Easily the best story behind a perfect game ever

The Wise catch still gets me a lil choked up ngl

This was a great video 👍
Burenia music from Metroid Dread for Cain’s perfect game was fun to notice.

Domingo german had a perfect game?
Just got on my lunch break, perfect vid to watch with
Randy Johnson tipped his pitches for his whole career, batters knew if it was fastball or slider. Yet the greatest Left hander of all time.
Sandy Koufax?
That was fun to watch. Great video!
Awesome Video, I know it's much more common but even break downs of no hitters would be really cool to see like this!
Thank you, I’ll keep it in mind!
So glad I stumbled upon this channel. Keep up the great content.

Great video! God I miss baseball
Incredible research done props. I loved this thanks for sharing
Just got on my dinner in Italy, perfect vid to watch with

metroid prime theme in a baseball vid, love it
you music taste is peak 👌
Great video
Love the videos
Amazing video
Thank you!
Koufax had the best perfecto when you consider that he pitched against 3 future Hall of Famers on the Cubs.
I think even now more men have orbited the moon than pitched an MLB perfect game!
Apollo 13 might just have saved your butt here... it's close.
@@roygoodhand1301 Didn't they go around at least once? That counts.
subscribed because of Metroid Prime music
The one time we give Matt Cain run support he throws a perfect game
One thing I have always wanted to know was how the pitchers hit during perfect games
Hurts to watch as a Rays fan lol, but I still have mad respect for the teams that threw perfect games.
3:33 anyone else notice the casual 56 MPH at the top of the screen?
Hey man weird question- my wife thinks the sound you use in the background of this video is very relaxing. What is it called?
Great job on the video!

@ it was Super Mario Galaxy 2, thanks man! Keep up the great work, need more ball content especially in the offseason.
Wow is that final fantasy 7 music at the end?
Randy Johnson was 40 years old at the time
Honorable mention: Armando Gallaraga 2010
at the end of the video dude

how could you not mention the “call your sons call your daughters” call???
Where is Galarraga?
