Toji was already originally rejected by the Zenin for having no curse energy. He sold his son back to the Zenin, because unlike himself, he believed in young Megumi's potential to be a real sorcerer and named him "Megumi" for it means blessings. Toji final words were for Gojo to save his son from the harsh Zenin fate. 6) Megumi means Blessing. But the same cannot be said for Gojo for Geto, he was not there to guide him home. Basically Toji incident spark the beginning of the switch between them. P.S. See the line Toji spoke when he kick Geto head. HINT: MONKEY Toji gave Geto Monkey PTSD.
The only thing I disagree with is that Toji could have beaten Gojo again without purple. He spent several days wearing Gojo down before even considering ambushing him, WITHOUT knowing about purple. If he really was confident he could handle everything Gojo has he could have fought him much earlier.
I think what he meant when he was saying "Something's off," was his mindset. Like Toji himself said, normally he would have bounced out of that fight since there was no money in it, but he wanted so badly to prove the entire jujutsu hierarchy wrong by killing the "Honored One" he fought him anyway and paid the price.
Gege Akutami, the author, won’t hold your hand this Season so it’s best to learn the difference between Simple Domain, Domain Expansion, Heavenly Restriction, Cursed Technique Reversal, Reverse Cursed Technique etc etc or you’re bound to get really, really confused this season.
I’m guessing the narration from the manga is going to be omitted? Because there’s a lot of techniques that are easier to understand with the explanations
Gojo in this episode was able to do Red because he learn Reversed curse Technique. Red is nothing else more than Blue (pull ability) reversed, so repell. So he use the reversed technique in blue, to create red. Thats why only now he was able to do it.
@ThNandes no, you literally said "use the reversed technique IN blue". That's a small detail, but is significantly different. So I was just trying to "lead" you to the right interpretation
@@JampaS2well I mean he’s reversing the negative energy of Blue. Negative reversed is positive, not neutral (Infinity) reversed. He has to multiply the negative energy of Blue to get Red, since a negative times a negative is a positive, so unless I’m misinterpreting something isn’t it more accurate to say it’s being reversed in Blue than it is to say it’s in Infinity?
@@JampaS2 I see, but what i said its not wrong. He indeed uses reverse technique in his hability to pull (blue) to create red. Its like @reversepeak6309 said. Infinity can't be reversed, since this hability just slow down things. To create repulsion, he need to reverse the force of blue (atraction). That why purple can exist, purple erase the time space on his path. This was possible because Gojo create a hole in time space with Blue, and mass in the same time space with Red. Like mater and anti-mater, the union of this two elementary forces crate purple. Purple only can erase things to reality because of this.
Blue is negative cursed energy and Red is positive cursed energy. So Geto moved from positive to negative while Gojo moves from negative to positive. That's what the last scene was referring to! Love your reactions ❤
Gege (jjk’s author) said Gojo was using Geto as his moral compass in that scene, if Geto had said yes to his question the Gojo we see today would’ve been a completely different person
There’s a line the author said that I found perfect for this moment. Gojo took toji’s blessing (since megumi means blessing and is toji’s mot important thing) whilst geto took toji’s curse (PTSD and trauma which changed his whole character)
"Sorry Amanai." "I'm not even angry over you right now." "I bare no grudge against anyone." "It's just that the world feels so, so wonderful right now."
@@User_95168 The only differences are that her lashes are longer and her hair is up instead of down. Which are small enough details to miss or not think about, especially when you are watching instead of reading.
Gojo took the "blessing" of Toji which is Megumi while Geto took his curse. This was the curse Geto was using in jjk 0. At the last moment while facing the cult members Geto saved Gojo but he couldn't save himself. Eventhough Gojo's morals were different from Geto he followed him cuz Geto was his "moral compass" After Geto left Gojo took Geto's ideals as his own. That's why he became a teacher to protect the youth and to make strong allies. Also Toji did say "you got beaten by a monkey like me..." that's why Geto referred non-sorcerers as monkeys

Geto did absorb the inventory cursed spirit after Gojo killed Toji. You can see Geto use it during the movie, storing for example playful cloud in it.
if you pay attention it seems like Gojo was using Geto as his moral compass when asking if he should murder all those civilians. honestly it seems like Geto WAS Gojo's moral compass throughout their whole time they were best friends but while Gojo had Geto, Geto didn't have anyone. I'd also start to have disdain for people if they cheered the death of someone I grew close to.
That image would be forever burned into his head of their greatest failure, his best friend holding a girl that they couldn't save and the people who technically funded this act happy clapping not knowing and unable to learn why they ended the life of a girl who didn't want anything to do with them
Gojo really went feral after escaping death and fully getting the essence of cursed energy. I mean, i would go unhinged lol Gojo, the honored one, has fully awakened!! The ending scene actually showed us both of them gradually switching their perspectives. It's just sad to see Geto internally struggling there. How his eyes moved back and forth as if searching for an answer or even the truth to what he's saying to Gojo. During that time, Gojo actually relies on him as his moral compass. Hence, him asking if they should kill the star religious group people. It's worse when that religious group are just clapping on the death of Riko-chan. They don't see her as a human teenage girl, they just see her as the "star plasma vessel" (They want Tengen-sama to be pure and not merged with a vessel). It's disgusting. And I agree with someone who commented somewhere that if Geto did say "yes let's kill them" we wouldn't have the Gojo we know in Season 1. I dont know if I'm ready for next ep (or even the rest of the season). It's gonna be loaded 🥲
I'm a be honest and say while killing them would obviously upend the jujutsu world since the honoured one himself would technically be a criminal fugitive I honestly feel like if geto had decided to kill those people in their he would have developed a moral compass similar to megumi where he no longer consideres everyone deserving of saving and still remain sane instead of being genocidal.
@@calvintyler9281 If Geto decided to kill them all he probably would have gone bad even faster. You don't just make the decision to kill dozens of people, no matter how justified you think you are, and stay the same after that.
Pretty sure the author has mentioned that Toji did actually love his wife, he had even quit gambling and was setting his lie straight. When she died, he fell right back in to old habits, trliving for himself and at the end of the day, having no respect for himself. Which is why he commented that his one mistake in his final battle was that for that one instant, he wanted to that respect, he wanted to reject the world that rejected him (for having no cursed energy), and Gojo was the embodiment of that. Another thing to think about is that by that point, Gojo didn't have to go after Toji. He had already failed, and yet he still went after and killed him. My thinking on that one is that Toji represented to him a wall that he failed to surpass, and that forced him to grow. But that's just me xP
That face when you remember that Toji said he has trouble remembering the names of guys. And that Megumi is considered to be a girl's name. Toji remembering him when he thinks about blessings. Peak. If you slam your blade through someone's skull and they don't die from that, they can just take the win. Toji was clean. He put the hands on two of the strongest sorcerers out there and completed his mission. But, Gojo evolved on the brink of death and ascended to being the honored one. Even then, he still kept fighting. Toji remembered his son and died on his feet, leaving everything to Gojo. Goated antagonist. That after credits scene. All those people clapping at seeing Riko's dead body. Crazy how Gojo was just like, "Should we just kill everyone here?" And Geto is opposed to that because there would be no meaning to all that death. Their perspectives are truly and utterly flipped right now. And that makes it all the more tragic where they end up. A world with both Geto and Gojo as enemies to mankind would be a scary sight.
Reverse curse technique and curse technique reversal are different. RCT is when you multiply the negative in curse energy to creat positive energy to heal yourself. Curse technique reversal is just a reversal of the properties of your technique. Hence why Gojo’s blue (attract) becomes red (repulsion)
Megumi means blessing in Japanese. It is also commonly a girl's name. Megumi was a blessing to Toji because he really loved his wife and was changing for her. He also said he rarely remembered men's names, which explains why he gave Megumi that name. However, his wife passes shortly after giving birth to Megumi and that really affected him. The person holding Megumi in that shot is his wife, not Toji.
Geto had Toji's curse worm in the movie when he fought Yuta so yes that was when he took it. Also in terms of the color metaphors think of Gojo's technique. Blue is the amplification of his innate technique (which is negative energy) and red is the reversal (which was explained as using reversed cursed technique or in other words positive energy). So basically in JJK Blue = negative, Red = positive
Megumi's mother(Toji's first wife) passed away before the series began. Toji then remarries Tsumiki's mother, thus making her Megumi's step-sister. Also Toji is able to see cursed spirits because his heavenly restriction also jacked out his five senses enough that he's able to see and interact with them.
In Toji's flashback it was his wife holding Megumi his first wife at least until she died and lost hope and became the Sorcerer killer he did remarry and put Megumi in the care of his new wife that's why Megumi has a step sister
Fun FACT: Geto does hear what Toji says to him about monkeys, he actually says it to him. Also, you guys have the most insightful observations out of all reaction channels I have seen. Having read all the manga I am pleasantly shocked.
It seems you're having a hard time remembering some details from the movie so let me help with what I do remember, Geto doesn't have the stitches in the movie. I also remember your reaction to the movie and you thinking Gojo let Geto live but that's not what happens. Gojo says something to him that we don't hear and then we have a zoom out on the scene and we hear a sound of slicing (you didn't catch that sound in your reaction), Gojo killed him that's why Geto has stitches in season 1 but we don't know how he's alive. He's very different if you compare the Geto from 0 and the Geto from season 1, in the movie although we don't agree with what he's doing he's very funny and playful while in season 1 he's all serious, it's like after he died he turned into a completely different person it doesn't feel like him. Maybe it's someone else in his body haha I don't know I don't read the manga, we'll have to wait and see.
Also, just adding to it: Toji did call himself a monkey when talking to Geto, right after slicing and kicking him. He said "you, jujutsu sorcerers, with all your blessings, still lost to a monkey like me", so it's 100% correct that this is why Geto calls non-sorcerers monkeys in the movie
A crazy parallel pointed out is that Gojo got Toji's "blessing" which is Megumi and Geto got his "curse" which is the curse that can store all kinds of weapons and what Geto uses in the jjk movie.
the reason Toji called megumi a blessing is because during Toji’s monologue he said the word “blessing” and in japanese is “Blessing” is translated to “Megumi” so saying blessing reminded him that that is what he named megumi
Whenever I see the scene of Gojo at the end of this ep it takes me back to his fight with Jogo, the look on Gojo's face right before he rips Jogo's head off is so sadistic.
a lot of reactors keep mistaking the image of megumi's birth mom of a younger toji holding megumi and it is really confusing as to why. We saw that Toji has been jacked and had the same hair style since Gojo was a kid why would he randomly get skinny, have long eye lashes and a completely different hairstyle.
@@CDexie It can be confusing, for sure. But it's fine once you get used to it. Reversed Cursed Technique (commonly referred to as RCT) is healing, basically. Cursed Technique: Reversal (sometimes referred to as CTR) is reversing a Cursed Technique (CT)
Megumi is my favorite character and Toji is my favorite villain in JJK he was a good villain and just a well written character. Toji did care about Megumi if he didn’t he wouldn’t have told Gojo anything about Megumi. Toji like Maki was rejected by the clan. Maki wasn’t corrupted like Toji was and she wanted to go about it in a positive way of becoming a jujutsu sorcerer and becoming the clan leader while Toji wanted to destroy the jujutsu world and the clan. He becomes a ruthless assassin and murders sorcerers. He eventually falls in love and marries Megumi’s mom and has a baby boy who he named Megumi because his baby boy was a blessing to him and he finally found happiness in his life. Once Toji loses Megumi’s mother he decides to marry again and tries to give Megumi a good life but he falls into a deep depression and starts disrespecting himself and everyone around him even his own son and goes back to becoming a ruthless assassin and forgets his old life, every now and then he thinks of Megumi but he isn’t a part of his life anymore and tries to forget him but he can’t. Deep down he knows he cares for his son so in his last words he thinks of Megumi and basically tells Gojo please provide a better life for my son because I couldn’t. They will eventually explain the reason why Megumi was to be sold to the clan hopefully in next episode.
10:25 Little fun fact, saying yes is the wrong answer. If you say yes and recoil at its face, then it kills you. If you say no then she gets mad and kills you. Toji saying “you’re not my type” is neither lying or being rude to her which is why he only gets cut a little bit.
The line "through the heaven and earth i alone am the honored one" is from buddhism. It was believed the first line speak out by man who later become Buddha, right after his born
“Megumi” literally means “blessing” in Japanese so when he kept saying “Blessing” which is just saying “megumi”, he was like “oh wait….thats what I named my kid”
Jjk is different from other shonen. Gojo could have become a bad guy if geto pushed him. This proves that no one is good or bad it's just their lifestory which guides their choicess. Sukuna got a bad life became a villian and gojo had a better life became a hero.
Monkey isn't really a common term in Jujustsu society. The fight between Gojo and Toji is a deconstruction of the tale of the meeting of Sun Wukong and The Buddha. What Gojo said was a direct quote of the Buddha in Japanese Buddhism, and in JttW, Sun Wukong (the Monkey King) was beaten and humbled by The Buddha. Also, Geto did take the storge curse in. He pulls Playful Cloud out of it in the 0 movie
I think the secret behind the love for Toji is 1. his waist and tiddies BUT ALSO 2. he represents a more extreme feeling of what Geto and Gojo and many other characters begin to feel in the series: that something in the world needs to change, the current system is only palliative, there are too few sorcerers and both sides are losing their humanity. Toji decides to destroy indiscriminately (similar to how Megumi saves indiscriminately), whereas Geto and Gojo are divisive in who they're powering up.
the people in the room clapping were clapping for the death of riko, that's why gojo wants to kill them also toji/megumi's last name and family situation is weird, either: toji gets the name fushiguro from his first wife and then remarries megumi's sister's mom and has megumi's sister takes the name fushiguro as well, or: toji marries the mother of megumi's sister and takes her name, fushiguro, and megumi takes the name too.
Just want to make it clear since you skimmed over it. Those people clapping are celebrating Riko's death. That's why Gojo asks if they should kill them.
Hate it when reactors dont pay enough attention and are always in a question mark state while everything was clearly anawered in the episode. This is the curse of reading comprehension ig
Toji could kill the dragon because that sword ignores any defense and he could get out of the scissor lady's grasp because his short sword nullifies any curse technique.
With this, I do think that Geto gets “monkey” from Toyi, as he refers to himself as a monkey while boasting about having bested both Geto and Gojo,as well as completing his job. It all tracks, if I remember it correctly.
Toji's lack of cursed energy resulted in his five senses being heightened to their absolute peak thanks to Toji's heavenly restriction, allowing him to see and track cursed energy and curses.
Toji is the goat. You'll see more of him this season and a bit in future seasons. His influence to the story is 2nd to none honestly only being arguable to someone else
I feel like Gojo had a huge influence in Geto's mind here, that end he was so heartless he basically pushed Geto to the edge trying to make him angry and he was already feeling guilty about failing their mission.
@@enjoys.trollingshittyreactors no kidding and I think Geto was just too kind for his own good, he just needed a little push to lose his mind and become the evil person he is now, Gojo was no near as kind as him.
The believers at the Star Religious Group facility were clapping because they just know they worship Tengen and Riko was an impurity to Tengen, so her death was to be celebrated. As for Geto calling people monkeys that's just because he believes they're subhuman since they can't use jujutsu
12:09 Toji saying "speaking of blessing"and talking about Megumi, meanst that he gave Gojo his blessing (Megumi) while Geto got his curse (the thing geto have in movie/future) ps: I know, I know, this kind of comment is in every reaction but I had say that, because the girls were surprised Toji said "his blessing", that was a really nice little detail
Geto adopted the curse, if you rewatch the jjk movie you'll see him use it in his fight against yuta. Toji treated that curse like a child and cared for it, that was why the curse uttered the "mommy" phrase, it was mourning toji. The bond between toji and the curse was the reason geto could not absorb the curse. That was the moment geto realized you couldn't just absorb a curse that's bound to someone without killing the person first.

Geto was always the sane, caring and humble. He advocated for the weak. While traumatised, Geto held on to his belief and did not break yet.
He was the voice of reason that convinced Gojo from not killing everyone in there. But the same cannot be said for Gojo for Geto, he was not there to guide him home.
Basically Toji incident spark the beginning of the switch between them.
P.S. See the line Toji spoke when he kick Geto head. HINT: MONKEY
Toji gave Geto Monkey PTSD.
And Getou probably gets the playfull cloud from the curse (of Toji)
The only thing I disagree with is that Toji could have beaten Gojo again without purple. He spent several days wearing Gojo down before even considering ambushing him, WITHOUT knowing about purple. If he really was confident he could handle everything Gojo has he could have fought him much earlier.
@@xXSamir44Xx Toji is not Sukuna to choose the riskier option

I think what he meant when he was saying "Something's off," was his mindset. Like Toji himself said, normally he would have bounced out of that fight since there was no money in it, but he wanted so badly to prove the entire jujutsu hierarchy wrong by killing the "Honored One" he fought him anyway and paid the price.

Gojo in this episode was able to do Red because he learn Reversed curse Technique. Red is nothing else more than Blue (pull ability) reversed, so repell. So he use the reversed technique in blue, to create red. Thats why only now he was able to do it.
He uses the reversed technique in Infinite to create red. And use normal curse energy in Infinite to create blue
@@JampaS2 yeah bro, thats what i say
Yeah, Geto actually does learn monkey from Fushiguro, it's in the fanbook said by Gege, whk said he was 'sleeplearning' lol
@sirpimposo2269that is what the first comment said
true
The reason Toji suddenly remembered Megumi when talking about blessings is because the name Megumi literally means “blessing” lol
"Sorry Amanai." "I'm not even angry over you right now."
"I bare no grudge against anyone."
"It's just that the world feels so, so wonderful right now."

Toji remembered Megumi was his son's name because Megumi means "blessing" or "blessed" one of those two
Gojo took the "blessing" of Toji which is Megumi while Geto took his curse.
Hope we can see cursed tool inverted spear of heaven again in the future.
if you pay attention it seems like Gojo was using Geto as his moral compass when asking if he should murder all those civilians. honestly it seems like Geto WAS Gojo's moral compass throughout their whole time they were best friends but while Gojo had Geto, Geto didn't have anyone. I'd also start to have disdain for people if they cheered the death of someone I grew close to.
During the Geto vs. Toji segment. I got John Wick/Tarantino vibes. The setting was gorgeous.

Toji was called "monkey" by the Zenin clan and grew up being ridiculed. It was Zen-in that distorted his mind.....
I appreciate how you three discuss everything post episode, it's interesting to listen to and hear your takes, great reaction! Thank you
That face when you remember that Toji said he has trouble remembering the names of guys.
To be exact CTR is RCT plus CT. Or the positive energy from RCT powering your innate CT.
@@akilmanwaring7767 I thought I added that smh
Megumi means blessing in Japanese. It is also commonly a girl's name. Megumi was a blessing to Toji because he really loved his wife and was changing for her. He also said he rarely remembered men's names, which explains why he gave Megumi that name. However, his wife passes shortly after giving birth to Megumi and that really affected him. The person holding Megumi in that shot is his wife, not Toji.
Toji was from Zen'in Clan. He took his wife's name, now he calls himself Fushiguro.
Even with half of the body missing, Toji will die standing. Toji is a legend...Respect ❤
Big facts, strongest non cursed user.
the image was baby megumi and his biological mom
In Toji's flashback it was his wife holding Megumi his first wife at least until she died and lost hope and became the Sorcerer killer he did remarry and put Megumi in the care of his new wife that's why Megumi has a step sister
Geto took the worm. It is in the jjk movie when he fought Yuta
He said "you, jujutsu sorcerers, with all your blessings, still lost to a monkey like me", so it's 100% correct that this is why Geto calls non-sorcerers monkeys in the movie

the reason Toji called megumi a blessing is because during Toji’s monologue he said the word “blessing” and in japanese is “Blessing” is translated to “Megumi” so saying blessing reminded him that that is what he named megumi

a lot of reactors keep mistaking the image of megumi's birth mom of a younger toji holding megumi and it is really confusing as to why. We saw that Toji has been jacked and had the same hair style since Gojo was a kid why would he randomly get skinny, have long eye lashes and a completely different hairstyle.

One of the main themes of JJK is that moral codes are fragile.

Jjk is different from other shonen. Gojo could have become a bad guy if geto pushed him. This proves that no one is good or bad it's just their lifestory which guides their choicess. Sukuna got a bad life became a villian and gojo had a better life became a hero.
Sitting cross-legged for too long is unhealthy.
Toji decides to destroy indiscriminately (similar to how Megumi saves indiscriminately), whereas Geto and Gojo are divisive in who they're powering up.
the people in the room clapping were clapping for the death of riko, that's why gojo wants to kill them
also toji/megumi's last name and family situation is weird, either:

toji marries the mother of megumi's sister and takes her name, fushiguro, and megumi takes the name too.

Geto adopted the curse, if you rewatch the jjk movie you'll see him use it in his fight against yuta. Toji treated that curse like a child and cared for it, that was why the curse uttered the "mommy" phrase, it was mourning toji.
