    The fan support bearing also makes noise on these at high mileage. Pulleys last quite a while and can be re greased (yes sealed bearings can be packed). If you replace only use OEM or NSK. That’s how they lasted so long in the first place.

    wish you had ran the engine so we could hear the noise. I have a very squeaky noise. Timing belt replaced 15K ago, with pulleys and belts. This doesn't help a lot, but it helps. Thanks.

      The tensioner pulley was so seized I didn’t want to cause more damage to other components. Honestly it probably would have just shredded the belt if I would have run it.

    Do timing belt have to be changed every 1000k when hard driving

    • @bullseyenate231

      So Toyota recommends to change the timing belt as regular maintenance every 100k or every ten years. However, I currently own a 03 4Runner with 200k miles and the timing belt has never been changed. It’s just one of those things I have to be aware of knowing it’s probably getting to be about that time at this point.

    Can it be done through the top only or need to get in through the bottom just for the belt?

    • @bullseyenate231
      @bullseyenate231  Рік тому +1

      If you are just changing your serpentine belt you could probably do it just from the top. However, removing things on the bottom would make it a little easier for aligning the bottom pulleys.

      @@bullseyenate231 yea, i was just inspecting the engine bay, and the radiator hose, fan, radiator reservoir tank seems to be in the way. my arm doesn't fit and cannot get to the tensioner pulley

    • @bullseyenate231
      @bullseyenate231  Рік тому +1

      @@KGX470 you should be able to change the belt without having to remove all of that, if you are just changing the belt. Make sure you have a long extended ratchet or serpentine belt tool. This will enable you to get the tool all the way down there without having to try to get your arms and hands down in there.

    How many miles did it have when this occurred

    • @bullseyenate231
      @bullseyenate231  4 роки тому +1

      blake the snake, 130,000 miles were in my vehicle when this happened. I know people who have 250 on theirs though and never had this problem.
      I have pulled quite a few trailers some with this vehicle so that could have been some of the problems behind it.
