KastKing ReKon baitcasting reels with precision line counters were engineered for performance and consistency by using high quality stainless steel and brass main gears, pinion gears and other critical parts. The new KastKing ReKon conventional reel with line counters for trolling or bottom fishing are available in two sizes. The size 10 is perfect for species such as Kokanee, Walleye and Trout fishing but performs equally on much larger fish. It features a high line capacity of over 250 yards of 20 lb. mono or 10 colors of Micro Leadcore line. It delivers a maximum of 25 lbs of smooth drag through its carbon drag system. The size 10 has a very comfortable double paddle handle with EVA knobs.
The size 20 Rekon has even more line capacity and drag power for big water, big fish or deep presentations with heavy weight, flashers or lots of leadcore line. The ReKon 20 will hold over 320 yards of 25 lb. mono or braid equivalent. It has a maximum of 30 lbs of drag through its series of carbon drag washers. For big water, big fish applications, KastKing installed a single Power Handle with a large round EVA knob that delivers serious torque and comfort when fighting big fish.
KastKing ReKon conventional reels with level wind were engineered for performance and consistency by using high quality stainless steel and brass main gears, pinion gears and other critical parts. Only double shielded stainless-steel bearings are used including the instant anti-reverse bearing to deliver smooth, reliable performance. Take ReKon fishing as a jigging reel or a trolling reel for fishing saltwater or as a freshwater fishing reel. Its power handle with EVA grips provides the torque needed to put you in control of big game fish.
The new KastKing ReKon conventional reel for trolling or bottom fishing is available in size 20. It features smooth yet powerful triple disc carbon fiber drag generating the 30 lbs of drag needed for much larger fish. ReKon level wind trolling fishing reels have a line clicker function that you can use as a strike detection system while trolling. Gear ratio is 5.3:1 on the size 20. ReKon round baitcasting reels feature high line capacity. For mono, line capacity is 330 yds of 25 lb for the size 20.

I’m used to the crank being on the left side, always using a spinning reel all my life, it seems strange to crank with the right hand, and holding my rod in the less dominant hand
I can understand that when using one for the first time. You get used to it pretty quick. Another thing that is different is that the reel is above the rod and in some cases, you need to guide the line back on the spool when you are reeling in for some of these types of reels. Not so much for the ReKon, but for others similar to it
Can you add a link to a video where you've used the Rekon? Thinking about getting one.
Shoot, I don't have it listed like that. It is the reel I let my son use since it is so lightweight and auto winds. Overall it is a good reel for this. I can see it being great as a beginner to intermediate reel but I would not recommend it if you are fishing more than once a month or so.

Seems to be pretty good, I have not caught anything on it yet but have only taken it out once. Next time, I will update how it does, especially with the Kong Rod!
Any new updates? I have the mega jaws… handles smaller salt water fish pretty well… kastking seems to be ok… but I’m worried about spending smaller money just to save rather then spend a little more and get better quality … thanks in advance

I have 2 KASTKing 20 I us them for trolling behind my boat.
So I want to let out the line 100 to 150 feet. The counter on both always stop counting while line is still going out?
I'm guessing it's me if it's happening to both reels?
Hmmm, not sure but it sounds like the mechanism that is turning the counter is not spinning or getting stuck. Mine does not have a counter on it. Maybe contact KastKing and ask them for help? I have never had to but I have heard their Customer service is great

Hi sorry about the late reply, that is the KastKing Kong rod, epic and is sensitive enough to do bottom fishing and feel subtle bites. Highly recommend!
