@@maxversthappening8166 I've been in top split and had the same thing happen. Of course, those are the 'accidental' "Just got into you sorry"...wink, wink, accidents. I've even seen a couple brag about this in forum.
The sad part of any sim like iRacing is that they can write code to simulate just about any aspect of a race car or track surface, but can't write code to determine fault when it is usually plain as day who was at fault.
The problem with that analysis, good as it may be, is that innocent parties tend to pay the price more times than not for others wanting to be complete tools on the track. Granted, defensive driving does tend to pay off in my experience, but not always. I guess it is the system we have and we just have to learn to play the game (not talking about the racing aspect).
The rating system is a joke. No training or tutorials on how and when to pass, how to re-enter the track safely, or even to push brake in when you spin. I get hit while on the racing line from every angle by out of control cars (some in reverse) and my rating goes down drastically. Incredibly frustrating part of iRacing
even simple things....re-entry on road tracks...schouldnt be too hard to see if someone had all 4 wheels off track so only he gets the points if he re-enter track without taking care of others..
I am new to racing and so impressed with almost everything I experienced so far. Iracing is ahead of all racing offerings in the market. However, in my opinion, the biggest problem that keeps iracing as a game is the incident system. That system is completely unreal. I believe today with fast computing and AI, the implementation of a fair incident system should be on the top priority of iracing as a company. Until that is done, the software is a B+ and not an A.
Is there a chance we could see a possible fix in netcode contact, or at least make the netcode smaller then what it is at some tracks. It is really bad at Bristol for example.
I think if a player receives "Loss of control 2x", people who come in contact with them should not ever get a 4x. but maybe 2x max. It is hard to think of a time someone who has lost control WASNT majority fault for further crashes. at least to the point where 4x is just too harsh. I have been playing iracing for a few months really focusing on keeping my SR clean, and its really annoying when all it takes to lose SR is one 4x penalty. A lot of the times its someone crashing in front of me and its hard to avoid. i even get a lot of 4x from BARELY making contact with bad netcode, no damage but 4x contact. boom my goal of gaining SR for that race is destroyed. I know sometimes theres nothing you can do, but 4x is too brutal for a lot of incidents. especially when its other people hitting you but i know the algorithm cant understand that.
In a rookie race i had 0 incident point and no contact and i became 2nd in the race and in qualifying but stil my safety rating only went up with 0,18 while the guy in p3 had 4 incident points and got +0,53
So I'm dirt B class I was 3.60 last week. Had a few bad days now I'm 2.50, mostly because people are reckless.... what's the best way to gain it back. Time trails give me like .16 ish. I did a C class street stock race witch gave me .63 (only happen once). Anyone know the best way to gain it back. Seems like I'm just getting the tar beat outta me now lol
do series that have a session with a lot of laps. iracing sees that you have a lot of laps with a low incident point total and it will get you some good sr gains.
With each license progression the scale you gain SR is lower AND the scale which you lose SR is increased. I've had and lost my A asphalt oval license twice in the last year (My first full year). Since A asphalt oval races are primarily Cup NASCAR which requires a LOT of track purchases; I'm happy to be at a B license. But even with a B; lots of tracks to buy. So, even if I drop to a C license that is primarily where I race anyway...Tour Modifieds, SK Modifieds and Street Stock. Until you attain set up master alien status you will roller coaster; good runs and bad.
Dirt is so difficult because usually the wrecks happen on restarts and you are so close together that you have literally no where to go. It doesn’t help that some of the tracks are so small that they end up being demo derbies. Dirt needs a lot of work in this department.
Started last night with a SR of 3.94 and pushing for 4.0 and auto promotion to B class. Ran 4 races (about 30 mins each) - had 2x in each of them due to avoiding wrecks on the track. Ended the evening on 3.77. Sorry - I just don't get the SR system. It is beyond infuriating.
It’s based on the amount of corners that are available during the race. That’s why it’s difficult in ovals to get your license up and easier in road courses
Safety Rating in iracing is what made me cancel my subscription after getting to A class and seeing no change. I like the idea of a SR but penalizing someone for off track is ridiculous. The track position penalty is enough. Also, whatever the calculations equation is for SR needs to fix how easily you go back. You can run a clean 30 lap race and and gain .08 and then have another solid race and get a 2x and go down -.05 (these are real numbers). How to kill any game is to make it really easy to go down and really difficult to gain. It's a bunch of amateur racers, there's always people that suck in the crowd and will cause incident points. Forcing people to choose between actually racing or just racing like you have a glass car is completely stupid programming.
Sorry but if you get dumped from behind by some no-skill Alonso wannabe you should not take a hit to SR. I don't buy that you can't write software to figure this out.
Just got hit in the back twice in two races, and i recieved - 0,9 safety rating. Explain that system? I'm a A class with 3,4 SR. After those races i got 2,5 SR. Only because to people pitted me of track. Explain how you are going to adress that, because i'm not paying anything ever again if this is the way you guys treat "racing fans".
So in order to get more safety rating when starting in iracing u should start last position in purspose and try to be the last one while staying far from any car. Because if u try to win a race or at least not lose it on purpose u will get hit by everyone if u got low irating as u are starting on the game, as u are getting matched with the most dangeruous and crazy drivers
if everyone crosses the line, then no. as a precaution i like to do one or two laps around the track after a win to do a burnout so i can be completely safe from any 2x
@@hessZL1 I have been told there is a cool down period, what the length is I do not know. You may be right it is after everyone crosses the line. I complete a lap or two also; problem is the guys that stomp on the brake right after crossing with no regard to those behind them; that may still yet be in a battle. Rule should be to maintain race pace to back stretch and then enter pits AND go to your pit box. But that would require more 'real world' compliance and we can't have that! I've said before only half jokingly, that there needs to be a skills test for each license. Test one for each and every series and class level is to maintain pace lap speed behind the pace car within 1 - 1 1/2 car lengths. Snap of the fingers half the membership will fail, lol.
As long as all the cars on track cross the start finish line it will not count If there is just one car that didn’t cross and is still on the track you will be dq and finish last
Hey, iRacing, me and my brother share the iRacing account he does Road and I do oval, the problem comes when we want to race a series which we don’t have the track, and we can’t afford to buy it, I would really appreciate some free content for me and my brother, I understand you might not want to give us any free content because we have to do like all other people have done, pay for them. This honestly did a poor job at explaining the details. Skipped over MPR entirely even though it was shown at the beginning of the video. Didnt explain that 3.0 was the level of SR needed to promote at the end of the season, only explained 4.0 instead.
GiL Racing I feel it’s also a poor show to not explain WHY safety rating reductions are applied on a no-fault basis. Considering the access you have to certain types of cars and series is based on safety rating, it would be pretty important to at least explain the logic behind punishing players despite them not being at fault during an incident. It’s especially worrisome that they can’t or won’t explain these things when the game requires you to purchase every car and track individually.
also no mention of when you go up like from 2.xx - 3.xx how you get a bonus compensation thing, sure on the score card results after the race you can hover over the ? but still should be in the video And does not explain how you cant get away with as many incidents in 3.xx as you can in 2.xx and still gains SR
