No it wasn’t.

Bro could not agree with my brothers above more - Literally the last nail in the coffin as we knew it!
I agree to 100 percent. The self titled era was Blink in Their final and Most creative form. eots and toypaj are classics and maybe the Best poppunk Records ever recorded, but the Self titled is More than just that. I‘ll love This Album forever.
This Show = Mark & Tom In Their Prime
Every Show = Travis in his Prime
Travis is playing with an injured leg or foot here too. He's using his left foot to play bass drum.
@@gregl2138 wow
So true
i personally think that from enema to pre BCR/pop disaster tour blink was the true prime of band, 1999-2001.... the mark and tom banter was at its best and almost felt like stand up comedy and the setlist were pretty great and tom sounded the best during that time, before he got his back injuries
but i do think this is the coolest the band has been, playing even faster than before and slightly more aggressive, it just captured the self titled era pretty well, but i think tom got way clumsier on vocals and it was kind of a downer for me....and well maybe i dont enjoy this era as much because i know its kind of the end of blink so it feels kinda bittersweet, knowing they werent getting along at all and just a few months later they broke up the band
His playing is great but his influence was terrible. Travis turned blink into the pop shit that forced Tom to leave twice.
At the height of their prime, but so close to the end

The self titled album is where I had to just stop listening. It doesn't fit at ALL with everything else they've done before it and is just trying way to hard to prove they can be "emo" when they never needed to be. They had their own style. Why change that up so indie scene girls will like you? Plus, those songs don't mesh AT ALL with how funny they are on stage,

9:29 holy crap I've never heard blink sound this good live, it's tragic that just a few months later the band broke up....
even worse that they already knew when the tour started it was the end because Toms agent informed the band.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
@@EDMLyfe I believe that happened during their then final tour in europe in late '04. And not that he was out, but then that he wanted to take a six month break to be with his family.
I’m 34 years old. From L.A. And been into this band since 1996,. Everyone always said how shitty they sound. But that’s considered normal in the genre they always performed, it never sounds exactly like the album, they never played to a track, a click or lip sync, it was always sped up, vocals a little off note with music, but that’s normal. This was a very good live band. From 1999 to 2002 I went to about 40 of their shows, so I got to see them play the same exact sets days in a row and some days you could tell it was work to them, but for a 3 piece band it was always very....good.
Damn, you saw over 40 of their shows? I would give anything to see them around 1999-2001 (what I consider to be their peak). Hopefully they come to Australia soon. I wouldn't mind seeing them, even if it's without Tom.
Eric Carrillo damn you were lucky enough to see Adam’s song played live. now they’ll probably never play it again
UncleBooty well they play adams song last night xD
Indeed. I saw a video of it. They didn't play it too badly. They did play in the original key of D. They ought to have tuned down a half-step like they did from 1999-2004.

Gonna let all of the new Blink fans know that this year (2004) is when Blink peaked and began the end of their magic on stage. It was never the same after 2004. They said at this point, they weren’t even talking to each other. Well, mostly Tom wasn’t. The fun, suburban teen angst was over and the mission statement of Blink as a brand couldn’t be agreed upon by Mark or Tom.
This is the greatest blink live show I've ever seen, Absolutely flawless.
This is a time machine directly back to 2004 and the blink height, The clothing, hair, style of playing, Sense of being carefree and only having fun, Holy shit..

How did tom murder it? He sounded amazing in this
@@lukeingham6817

Their best gig in my opinion, they were on fire here, don't know if the tensions at the time added to the aggression and intensity but it's AWESOME. You can tell as well with the interludes in Rock Show, Stay Together for the Kids, I Miss You, Adam's Song, the outro and Tom's picking before Down, and the intro to Asthenia they were naturally going in the sort of direction Tom went with Angels. The atmospheric vibe, moody and eerie echoes, delay pedals etc.

Connor Brown as Tom Delonge would say: I’m quick like lightning!
Mark and Tom wrote new parts for almost every song. They were not just committed, they were inspired during this time (right before the breakup!) This is the true direction blink was headed in. Right on, boys!!!
Blink 182 will always be my favorite band, closely followed by AVA, Green Day, and Dashboard confessional
I saw this tour in 2004 in Devour with No Doubt. Such an epic show. I was 15 yrs old and had the time of my life. They played all the songs so fast. The energy is unmatched.
Mark Tom and Travis show was a close second.
Tom’s guitar tones are amazing in this.
Wonder what it is. I think these were his new orange and brown cabs likely with much newer speakers than the previous tan/red croc skin cabs he used for many years prior. From my understanding his rig used here is basically same rig from 2001 onwards. But I agree the tone is great here. Could just be a different foh engineer who really “got it” figured out finally.
@@snapascrewI also feel like a lot of it may have also been because he really amped up his flanger compared to before
I was here! Three rows before the lawn, haha. Thanks for the upload - nice to finally be able to see it up close! 🤘
Wow, Thanks for great HD vid!!
too bad HD wasn't even a thing yet in 2004
Haha, I meant HQ. That's enough to enjoy! :)
I miss this Blink.
Tom is funny hahaha
34:23 Mark's speech about internet, technology and cellphones... sounds so weird listened now in 2020.
Year 2004: Facebook had just been born. The first model of iPhone should be commercialized 3 years later. The social era, no one could imagine what would happen just few years later
The best Live, I think
This is the best live version of “What’s My Age Again”
they were playing these songs fast to get it over with as fast as possible, man i never thought at the time mark and tom would fall out and i was always shocked it happened.
I can't stop watching this
July 2024, 20 years and a little over a month this concert was played and im just finding it now. i was 10 years old at this time. all i can say is the boys were on fire, every song sounds so punk with the super fast tempo. which apparently was because they were on the verge of the eventual hiatus we all hated. but looking back now, imagine if that never happened. would we have gotten a great sleeper album like Neighborhoods? would we have gotten an anthem part 3 a decade sooner if at all? would Mark decide to quit performing from his cancer diagnosis rather than making amends with Tom? would Travis have parted ways with blink if DJAM didnt die in the plane crash? hell, would blink still even be together in 2024 had they not had the hiatus? i think everything fell into place, as tragic as the events were, for a reason. long live blink forever. (ps dont fucking break up again!)
“It’s not a race guys!”
