Awesome review. I really appreciate the step by step, details of how much to water, how long it takes, etc. I watched a few other videos but the aren't near this comprehensive. Please make more videos of cat stuff!
Wow. Your 7 minute video is more helpful than the folks who work at Cat-it!! I was about to give up on this product but I think our issue might be the water that hides in the bottom of the planter. It’s quite a significant amount if you’re watering every day & not tipping it to fully drain. I’m giving this another go.🤞🏻
Finally someone gives an honest opinion. I couldn't understand what the green piece was for, and you've answered (throw it away). Thanks for the watering tips too - very helpful. Looking forward to your next video.
Thank you for this detailed review. I watched other reviews and read the website too, but the instructions everywhere were so vague! This is the best review and instruction video I've seen!
Hi. Thank you very much for the video. I just have one doubt. After watering, should I remove the excess water that remains in the larger dish after being drained from the plant dish?
For planting subsequent batches of catch grass, can you reuse the soiling mix that came in the box or do you have to use your own? If the latter, can I use regular potting soil mix? Thanks
I find it sad that everybody looks over the fact that the box that this product comes in is a toy. The cardboard box has circles that you can do cut outs in or pop out. And then you put kitty treats inside it. My cat is 12 years old in all of his life. I have never found a better toy for him. He has been every day sitting by it and letting me know he needs to have his treats added to it so he can have fun. I swear it keeps him busy day and night. He’s Always been an avid hunter, and now that he’s an indoor cat. He thinks this is the greatest creation ever. So please don’t overlook the box. I would pay money just to buy another box if anything happened to his. And yes, it is the best grass to grow. I hate all of the other ones you buy at the pet food stores. They never last, and I’ve gotten a whole lot longer than a weeks worth of use out of mine
I found the instructions complicated because I never soled the grass before mixing it and I just wanted it in the bowl. Will it still work if done incorrectly and where can you buy more grass when this is finished.
You can buy grass kits from Amazon. It's important to soak the grass seeds for them to sprout properly. If you dont then I suspect the crop may be pretty thin
The whole kit costs $15 USD (on Amazon.com). You can buy refills from Amazon too, but I think you can save money by just buying the seeds and vermiculate separately.

Best review video, by far, for this product.
I watched four videos trying to understand the instructions. I checked the catit website and was confused. Thank you!
You're welcome! I find this product isn't obvious to use
Super review - the other 2 reviews I saw were useless. Thank you for putting in so much effort.
Glad it was helpful!

Yes it's a nice kit, but version 3 of the kit could use some improvement.
it useful if you've got a cat that goes right in & eats the seeds, roots & soil (like some of us do!).
The green piece is to stop the cats digging it all up

Best video yet. Thank you so much.
Thanks!
Vermiculite is a really good germination substrate... Why presprout with paper?
When the grass turns somewhat yellow, do I throw everything out and regrow once more?
For planting subsequent batches of catch grass, can you reuse the soiling mix that came in the box or do you have to use your own? If the latter, can I use regular potting soil mix? Thanks
would be awsome to have an instruction in the package
I agree - that's why I made the video!

I have a question! You put a towel with water, do you continue to put water day 1 and 2?
If you mean once the paper towel is on top, I actually keep it moist all the time; so I spray worder on it every day many times per day
So, you have to plant new grass seeds every week to week-and-a-half for the cat to have fresh grass at all times?
Yes - every 10 days you start your next crop of grass.
@@bwibblesfritzragdollcats9781 Got it. Thanks!
@@t24hy44 I'm planning to experiment with using soil because the grass dies so quickly (when the vermiculite runs out of minerals I guess)
@@bwibblesfritzragdollcats9781 I would love to know how it worked with soil!
hoa much ?
