what I learned this episode: Brian and Olivia should dap up their guests every episode
Hi Stoooooooooks
What's a dap
@@cuddlequeen3225 high five put after high five curl ur finger joints
@@user-ho6om2wk8g wat
It's just a greeting like a fist bump. That other guys explanation was poorly worded.
Fun fact: The term "cracked" originated with the deck "Eggs." When you would sacrifice the artifact to cantrip, you were "cracking the egg."
Oh, thought it was a reference to mtg being addictive.
Worst competitive deck in mtg history IMO
I was about to say this, but it was just baseless speculation on my part 😅
Don’t know how you guys edited a second kibler in so seamlessly! Kudos for sure
Movie magic.
Not sure who Kibler is, but did you see that Kyle Hill clone they found, sitting next to Bertrand? He was cool. They should bring him back often!
Is he the guy that plays Thor?
@Joe Doe not sure who kibler is 😂
@@joedoe7572 Kyle Hill is just Thor's online VTuber avatar. I've met him offline once and called him Kyle, he told me to f-off and I was being cringe for calling him by his online handle IRL
I hope this joke never dies
Magic Family!!! Dad, Mom, Son, and cool Uncle!!! Please make this a regular pod :) also I love how tilted everyone gets while Kibler is flicking his cards!!!!!!
"Cool uncle" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
People doing that is the reason why I love the card Stop That! from Unhinged. It's, like, the only good "Gotcha" spell.
magic players are weird because in a lot of circles it would be considered an honor to even have kibler flick his cards at you
I came here to say the same thing. 😂
@@lavandereisly4194name dropping is valid too
Teaching Jacob about DMCA strikes and learning about dapping people up - a true cultural exchange that brings a tear to my eye
Only a few episodes in and this show has emerged as my preferred commander channel. Love Kyle and Jacob as guests. This pod was electric
Totally agreed here. I've thoroughly loved every episode.
This and Elder Dragon Hijinks are miles ahead of the other shows I've watched. There are a few other good ones, but in the churning sea of Commander content, anything involving Olivia and Eilidh stands out like a beacon.
Just Kyle's facial expressions are the best!! 🤣
I cannot agree with you more I almost like it more than game nights. No commercials no animations no interviews just Commander with friends.
The guest are more fire then the hosts.
“Dap me up” is at LEAST 10+ years old.
I love this show so much, in stitches every episode 😂
earliest ive seen is the late 60s/early 70s so thats easily 50 years
This is a pretty egregiously white cast so the older ones prolly haven't had as much exposure to black culture and such. I say this as a white dude myself.
I've only heard "give daps"...west coast
Watching Kyle get progressively more pressed by Jacob is giving me life.
Jacob is such a mess
we must protect him and cherish him at all costs
Kyle’s robotic “you have 25 treasures” was the best accent on the show
43:43
I cannot express how much this is just a D&D party playing MTG together.
Jacob is the musically spirited Bard, Kyle as the quick witted and sarcastic Rogue, Olivia as the no-nonsense Necromancer (because: obviously), and Brian as the group's "dad" fighter/paladin.
I can definitely see this and i never played d&d a day in my life
Would the D&D card game they play in thier spare time be magic the gathering?
I love how Kibler just slams his deck down and Olivia goes and straightens it out for him EVER. TIME.
Couple goals
Love the special effects that they put in this show to have two versions of Brian at the table. Confused at first but they really love Science Brian and Gamer Brian. Honestly just need a full show with four Brians playing against each other each with their own schtick. Loving this series and can't wait for another episode.
Well, the Professor is still around, if we can convince Olivia to forgive him for the "Deck Construction" fiasco.
@@Goggledguy oho? im a little uninformed here. What happened then?
@@lowkaytong8407 I could be wrong, but I believe it' in reference to Shuffle Up & Play Episode 20 (where Olivia and Brian were guests). The premise was each player was to make a deck for one of the other players to play. The Professor, wanting the deck he gave to the third guest Gavin Verhey to be "good," outsourced his deck construction to someone else.
Fun fact, the OG instruction of MtG was to put your lands in front. It was part of the idea that the opponent's creatures had to first cross your lands. So in the early years of magic we all played with the lands in front.
Jacob is hilarious, performer charisma I guess. And seeing a family together always warms my heart
Olivia casting IRL Teferi's protection with the hoodie was priceless 🤣
Here we have a Kibler Twins duking it out to show who is the true Brian Kibler
The true “the Kibbs”?
Will the real Brian Kibler please stand up!
Turns out Jacob is the true Brian Kibler
Man this has to be the best crew so far. To play commander, ever, I mean.
Also Jacob should be introduced as Brian and Olivia’s son, just officially. Name tag and all.
I was constantly worried that if Brian and Kyle made too much physical contact with one another, they'd merge together like the end of Time Cop!
A great episode again, and now I kinda want someone to make a proxy of Riku of Two Reflections with Brian and Kyle lol.
"No, it's at least a 7"
Came for the commander gameplay but stayed for the vibes and interactions. Y'all are awesome.
I can’t help but keep catching that person in the back with the phone 😂 still loving this episode so far! I love you guys! And I LOVE these guest. Kyle and Jacob are amazing!
Once I saw them once i couldn't stop noticing them every time it went to that camera angle!
Like yeh I saw it too lol. I was tripping out like who’s grandma is this
When Jacob said he liked dragons more than Brian I was fully expecting him to get exiled
"If you play with your lands in the front or you want to play a 5-player game, I'm out." Those words are now my mantra 😂
Me: what’s wrong with 5 player games?
Also me: burns everyone down
This intro is the best of all the youtube channels, its so wholesome and everyone having a blast
I mean, it's good lol
I love it! I can imagine "hey let's make a party and get the intro from it to capture the from home vibe"
The intro looks like something I would love to be apart of on Friday nights 🎉🎉🎉 I wanna hear Kyle yell "I wasnt at pro tour Tokyo" 😆
It's so amazing they managed to get Brian Kibler and Brian Kibler on this episode
Olivia passes the fit check every week. Commander at home’s steez is increased 10 fold each episode.
The hoodie is so sick
Brian was my second to last opponent at my first Grand Prix, I was X-1-0. I lost against him and my next opponent, I had no idea who Brian was. His card flicking was definitely intense 😂 I appreciate this guy so much. By far my favorite MTG pro ever. Thank you again for the advice my guy.
This is my new favorite commander show for sure. I've binged 3 episodes so far.
I wish all my commander games were as chill and fun as those
Jacob getting treated as a small kid and Brian and olivia treating him as a their child specifically is so true when you are 5+ years younger than all the others
Hands down the best commander show intro on the internet! I absolutely love this show!
if Brian's magic career doesn't take off then he definitely has a future in asmr.
Jacob is back!!! And you got Brian Kibler from Because Science! He's got such great hair. It was such a fun episode! As always, the table chemistry is great and it's fun laughing along with everyone at the jokes and quips.
A couple mistakes with Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite (Mistakes that didn't really matter but I'm contractually obligated to point out because I'm a nerd.) Olivia's manifest would have died due to state-based actions and after Brian died to commander damage during the first strike step, Jacob's dragons would have gotten bigger again, dealing more damage to Kyle and making more treasures.
I truly appreciate this series. Thank you for the great content. I see so many directions you can go with guests. Looking forward to seeing many more.
This pod is incredible. Every episode better than the last. I absolutely love this show!
The four cascades are seperate triggers, so when you hit a card on one, you cast that spell and the resolve it, before resolve any of the other cascade triggers. It usually doesn't matter, but when you cast creatures you trigger Chulane which affects what's on top of your library, and the order of the cascaded spell can matter (like the primordial vs elesh norn).
What sets this series apart from other commander videos is how funny is when guests make fun of kibler's shuffling
Amazing content! I love how y'all keep the banter in without drowning out the actual game play :)
My absolute favorite new commander content. Everyone brings the good vibes each and every week and I’m always looking forward to the newest episode. Thank you for all the effort put into making this channel and content.
Commander at Home is without the possibility of debate the best EDH gameplay content on the platform. Thank you all so much for bringing this to us.
Loved this episode! For next time, apex devastator does not resolve like it was showed. The first cascade trigger must resolve first before cascading into the second one. So Force would be decided and bottomed first, then cascade into wake, that gets cast, etc etc until Norn is the last to be cast off of the 4th cascade.
And the manifest should have hit the graveyard immediately due to Elesh Norn.
Yes I believe it was done incorrectly last episode as well
My favorite commander channel and the best intro. 🥰
Thank you! ❤
This is top tier entertainment as far as commander shows go.
And the intro is so wholesome
I am now waiting for the episode of "commander at home the musical" with jacob bertrand and it just has kyle in the background shaking his head for about an hour :D
In all seriousness great episode, loved every second of it and can't wait for the next one!
Jacob's comment about lands up front made me think of people who tap their land to the left. It's just not natural.
Edit: As a small point of note, Brian cannot resolve his effects at 29:22 in that order. Not sure it matters in the long run, but technically speaking, Chulane is on cast, not ETB, so it resolves first in all cases, before the wood elves actually hit the field and place their own trigger on the stack. It may have mattered if Oracle was still in play, because he changed the top card of his deck before drawing, but when you don't have a way of knowing what that card is beforehand, changing it effectively doesn't do anything, so I don't think the outcome was affected in any statistically measurable way. Just wanted to point it out because trigger orders tend to matter in general, and it's better to be in the habit of playing them correctly. Cascade triggers can be resolved before or after Chulane, player's choice, because they both trigger off the casting of the spell, but ETB effects always happen afterwards. I'm fairly certain Brian knows this already and it was just a misstep in the moment, but I thought it worth clarifying.
On a similar note, it should be noted that all 4 cascades from apex predator resolve independently (the card even says as much, stating "multiple instances of cascade each trigger separately." Meaning that you find and cast the first spell, THEN draw from Chulane and play a land, before looking for the next cascade trigger. Finding all four spells before resolving any of the Chulane triggers is also technically incorrect play. It's casual format, so it's fine I'm sure (especially considering Kibler was still not in a commanding spot afterward), but just for anybody wondering about the technicalities of mtg (of which there are many, lol), that is the correct way to do things.
Really? I naturally tap my things to the left. It just feels more natural to me somehow. I don't specifically do it and it wouldn't bother me to do it to the right, it's just the way my hands do it. I think a couple of my friends do that way too, but I'm not sure
@@joedoe7572 I was intentionally exaggerating, but yes, tapping to the left is highly unusual, so it stands out when people do it. The "tap" symbol has an arrow that specifically shows a clockwise rotation, and I assume that is why tapping to the right became the norm.
Easily one of my favorite commander channels right now. Every vid is such a great watch.
Definitely one of the most natural feeling edh channel, the banter and the dialogue doesn't feel super forced like a lot of other channels. Really enjoyed all of the vids so far!
Anybody else notice the person in the background
That's Kat Kyle's assistant lol, that have a Lil name tag at the beginning
I LOOOVE THIS CHANEEEEEL!!
Brian and Kyle look like brothers
The sheer joy this series generates 👌 these are ideal pods for sure! Great content from home 🤘
Great show! Thank you, guys!
What! An episode with Kyle Hill finally! and Jacob what an energy bunny! This is another great episode! 😊
Please note: each apex devastator cascade resolves completely first before you see the next card. It's the second time it's misplayed 😅
Not only that, the 2/2 manifest should've died upon entry due to the Elesh Norn on field, no?
@@Neobreaker yep! sure should have, none of us caught it lmao
It happens lol, was entertaining anyways.
Also Kyle should have actually taken more damage in the second last swing. Since Bryan died after the first one, the Elesh Norn would have fallen away and the second hit would have been +4 damage (2 power *2 creatures)
But it made zero difference in the end and was a great vibe. Mistakes are part of the game 🚀
It's a fair callout though. I play a lot of Maelstrom and it pains me every time someone tries to convince me its in reverse order for whatever reason. If we don't mention it, nobody will learn!
This episode was so satisfying to watch. Something about this specific table makes me very happy.
Every commander at home episode has made me laugh and want to play even MORE COMMANDER (which is shocking, cuz I play A LOT)
Thank you for the laughs and content. I need to see more interactions between Jacob and Kyle
This was great! Kyle's look of defeat is so wonderful.
I identify with Jacob's singing so much. I would be awful on a show like this haha
I can't remember the last time I actually got excited to see a video pop up in my sub box. Love this channel.
This is rapidly becoming my favorite commander gameplay channel. Yall are a hoot!
First hearing about your channel on "Tolarian Community College" and making the decision to check the channel out. I found myself being drawn to seeing who your guests are, what decks you are playing and looking forward to each new video you produce. I love the style, the casual feeling and interaction and the focus on balancing gameplay with personal reactions to plays. Both of you and your crew deserve an applause for your hard work! You all should be proud or what you have created! Well Done!
Now Jacob and "Brian Kyler" are some sweet guests!
My new favorite Commander channel. Love it!
This is probably my favourite edh show. It embodies the spirit of casual in person commander and I always love seeing a new episode up.
Really liked that they brought THE Brian Kibler on the show this week. He and Jacob brought so much energy, Kibler was literally shaking.
Kyle, Kibbler, and Olivia are probably the top 3 people I would want to play commander with if I could assemble a dream pod.
One Kibler chose Philosophy the other Kibler chose science!
But always a hoot to see Kyle Hill play he brings such creative decks with the right scale of power level to a pod and he does some insane value engines. Jacob showing off why Dragons being double-troubled is fantastic and why they can do such insane damage if not enough checks are brought against them. Kibler's Chulain deck I can see where it gets out of hand he was quickly racking up in ramp and value and it's a shame he didn't hit flyers to stop the dragon train from killing him. Olivia with the Reconnaissance tech man if she went off it probably would have been a one turn kill out of nowhere from her.
And of course we got more good doggo energy! Seriously I love the table chatter that happens in this show, it really does feel like a casual game of magic which Commander is all about for me.
Please continue releasing more episodes!
Volví hace poco a commander por mi sobrino y buscando videos los encontré y me encanta el ambiente que generan con sus invitados!!!
Sigan así, son los mejores!!!!
I see Olivia playing magic, I click.
Nicely handled and fun games. Edited just the right amount imo.
Between brian and Olivia's wonderful channel , the profs channel and command zone I've found some of my favourite content ever. You are all so awesome!!! 🥰 the little doggy is so darn adorable too 🥰
I really love when Kyle and Jacob as guest. Brings so much energy and smiles. I really enjoy watching them with you two. Please keep bringing them back
Jacob is hilarious and full of energy 😂
I've watched enough Commander at Home that Jacob being Olivia and Brian's son is just headcanon now.
One of the funnest games I've seen in a while, great job everyone!
Loved this episode! Cast and guests were amazing. Writing this while still in the introduction because I know a commander game with these four will be legendary.
I dont even follow magic like that but if I see a new Commander At Home video I will click every time
So nice to see Kyle joining in on his twins' family's commander night!
I love all of this! Keep up the great work!!!!! You guys are awesome!
Great episode as always! Keep up the great work! Kibler and Olivia are such great hosts!
I finally figured out why I love this show, you guys capture the ENTIRE game not just the tabletop. This is my favorite Ep so far!
the vibes are immaculate
Love the episodes guys! Already in the top of my commander shows ❤
Intro is so bomb. Love tuning in every week!
"It's at least a 7" Excellent execution Hill🤣
Shouldn't you technically resolve the Cascade triggers one at a time, so you won't know all the cards and you can respond in between each reveal?
This would have put the Elesh Norn into hand off the Chulane draw, then Solemn ETB trigger resolves and shuffles before doing the final cascade reveal.
Yeah cascade is supposed to trigger and resolve individually. 4 cascades take up 4 spots on the stack
Yep we botched it 😅😅😅
Really loving the show you two! Only started playing commander a couple years ago but I've been following Kibler since early Hearthstone. Keep it up y'all :)
Incredible POD! Would love to see more of this group.
You can see kyles beard get more and more grey with interacting with Jacob lol
Why are there two Brian Kiblers?
Man I haven't felt this in a long time where I see an upload and it immediately makes my day.
This is by far my favorite episode that you've done yet loved the ambiance of the whole game with the dad and mom thing and the fact that Kyle Hill looks like a younger Brian. Keep up the awesome videos always looks like you guys are having a blast playing commander
+1 to Kyle and Go Shintai, I vastly prefer deck builds like that over just grabbing the most powerful commander. An added deck building constraint for me was to have all cards other than non-basic lands have the word "Of" in the name. It works surprisingly well, and all the shrines have of in the name so it's only restricting the rest of the deck.
I'm actually in the process of building a Go-Shintai shrines and curses deck. My constraint is that everything needs to be an enchantment outside of lands. I'm debating on sticking Thassa in there to blink removal enchantments too :D
Kids: "Mom can we play commander?"
Mom: "We have commander at home"
Commander at Home:
This series is one of the rare "_______ at home" cases where the thing at home is better!
Best episode so far. This quartet is vibing!
Just found this channel, but have heard of most of you before (sorry Jacob!). Wish you all the best from Germany, keep your spirits up, love to watch you play! Stay healthy and cuddle your cute dog from me please!
I like, I comment, I back the Patreon, our dread bargain is fulfilled.
Kyle and Jacob give me shrek and donkey vibes
this is so good to watch! everyone just being themselves and having fun
Thank you very much for uploading. I laughed a lot during this episode.
