Congratulations on 100,000 subscribers! Commander At Home now holds the record for fastest Magic: The Gathering channel to achieve 100k subscribers. Well deserved! Looking forward to many games to come.
Considering it’s Kibler , who’s already more than well established , and his power couple other half Olivia, it was to be expected. I honestly thought it’d happen a little quicker
I like the roles of each player here. You have Kibler in his traditional insta-threat/insta-dead role. Very classic. You have Olivia who's just an agent of chaos at this point. Chris who actually takes the game somewhat seriously and plays magic, and then you have Kyle who ever so slowly slides towards that giant black hole of complete apathy. Gotta love it.
There are so many great quotable lines in this one, but I think for me "Well, it wouldn't **kill you** kill you, but it would hit you for a shit ton and then I'd finish you off" takes the cake. You guys are my favourite Commander channel on UA-cam, your games are always entertaining and I love the energy you bring!
The special effects in this episode were amazing! It really did feel like there were 2 kibblers at the table. Stoked to see the production value stepped up!
(Non-)renowned English educator Chris Montgomery, here. 😂 It is SUCH a pleasure to be on the show and to give Kyle a bad time! As I watched back through this episode, my dolphin-smooth brain experienced the following emotions: • I am proud of "octopodes nuts" • Gisela and Bruna were ROOMMATES • Riven Turnbull KNOWS what he DID • I really wanted that Phyrexian Vindicator to resolve! Just imagine how sweet it would have been to block Kyle's huge commander and fling all that damage somewhere!
XD OMG I GOT KYLE AND KIBBLER CONFUSED!! I saw this comment before finishing the episode. I kept thinking "but Kyle didnt scoop he got taken out by commander damage" and only now do I see the light. XD Oooh I cant even... lmao
32:06 is definitely a contender for a top 10 moments montage LMAO. Two of my favorite guests! Love to see Kyle and Chris getting along. "There are those who don't think it be like it is" "But it do." Also "I do not think therefore I do not am." was an S tier Olivia quote. Keep up the great work guys
I'm on break at work: we're looking at a stressful closing shift. Watching the intro just calmed me so much. I felt my shoulders relax, and then relax even more a few moments later. I love this show, that's a big part of why the intro is so relaxing, but it's just also really well done. Thank you : )
I absolutely love every episode. Always a pleasure to see Kyle on the show, and the way you all play off each other for jokes and laughs is amazing. Keep doing great things!
52:55 Fun fact regarding Teferi's protection: You, as the player, do not phase out. Neither do the cards in your hand or library. You simply get protection from everything. In other words, even after resolving Teferi's protection on the stack, if you have mana in your pool, you can still cast other spells. You don't actually have to resolve the other spells before TP. There's not a huge REASON to do it that way, but you CAN. More importantly, for those who don't know, you can also still be forced to discard cards, exile your graveyard, mill from your deck, etc. by any effect that affects "each opponent" as, again, you yourself do not actually phase out.
Best outro so far! Love you guys and the vibes you bring to the table and always a blast to see Kyle there with you. Keep up spreading this much fun by having it yourself! ❤
ive grown to like commander at home over game knights. these videos feel like a real magic game, like youre there and engaged with them in the room. feels how magic is supposed to be; personable, and engaging. i like the command zone for podcasts and sometimes the game knights episodes are cool/are informative, but for videos of commander for pure entertainment, commander at home is the best so far (also its really fun listening to brian talk about cards and interactions because he is a monster and knows so much valuable info about cards most people dont even realize to use) i knew id like these videos when i saw jimmy wong say "fuck it" and swing out at someone. if that isnt real magic idk what is
Nice meeting you two at command fest. Sorry I didn't have my thopter party deck the first day. I wanted to give it a go ,but the crowds on sat and Sunday were massive. Thanks again for signing my breya, my thopter and my mountain. Was an awesome experience meeting you two. My gf liked how u asked about her yoshi backpack. You two are awesome people and thank you for coming out.
I freaking love the synergy yall have while playing commander. The social interaction makes it so much more entertaining! I wish my playgroup has this level of engagement and wordplay.
Props to the whole Commander at Home team for all the laughs! Fingers snaps for those who had to edit this video I don't know how you kept it together.... 😂❤
Sorry for nitpicking from a former judge, but "target player" for Palantir of Orthanc is chosen when its ability is put on the stack. So Chris had to choose a player first, and only then to Scry.
I built an Ovika deck once, it's an absolute blast! Getting the ramp/spells/spell payoff ratio down takes work but it's well worth it. I only took it apart to build MOM aftermath Narset, where Ovika lives on in the 99
Not gonna lie, you have my favorite intro of any magic channel that I watch. Reminds me of good times with friends and the reason why I started playing magic
Olivia, I did the same thing with making a deck with all the current status effects. It’s in Esper, you don’t need all five colors if you don’t want to go that route. It requires an actual poster board, like a high school presentation, to keep track of the whole thing. It’s misery! Also quite fun.
Just started playing magic this week because my friends have been for a while and man commander is so fun and has so much variety keep up the good content
That was a fun episode! I love the dynamic between each of the players. And some stuff you were not expecting as well during the game! Also! Congratulations on reading 100,000 subscribers! You deserve it. This channel is amazing!
Blood is my mother's maiden name, her dad was a dr in the army and was both "Dr. Blood" and "Captain Blood" My cousin met her husband because at the hospital she worked at her name was on a board as "Dr. Blood" and he thought someone was pulling a prank. It rules to have that name in the family
With how many notable MTG figures and generally "famous" people who are on this show, Chris is still one of my favorite guests. Olivia and Brian have good taste in friends 😊
FYI on tefarious protection; when his board phases out he doesn't have blockers so he takes commander damage that adds to the total dealt, it just doesn't lower his life total.
I'm not sure why so many people think this! It's not technically correct: Teferi's Protection also gives you "Protection from Everything," which DOES actually prevent damage!
The way I really enjoy the engine with the Amass is using The Ozolith, All will be one and Fall of Cair Andros. Once you have a sac engine, you can use it to do all sorts of really efficient creature removal and damage across the table all while beefing it up. If you're not getting the sacrifice engine, using Maskwood Nexus makes all your creatures an Army and then you can just choose a creature to amass. That paired with the Nazgul is great too IMO because now all your creatures are an army, which means you get a ring tempts you trigger for every attacking creature, which means all your Nazgul trigger their +1/+1 on all wraiths.
Double Kyle Hill AND Brian Kibler at the same time? GOSH I've been blessed with another amazing episode. Also, Kyle Hill forgot to untap all his lands due to Sword of Feast&Famine at 40:30 -ish. NEVERMIND, HE DID ON 41:57. That happens when you write a comment while watching the episode, haha.

Olivia saying she has a 'big flapping nightmare' got me tbh
Fun fact, the Sliver deck from Commander Masters has an Amass Sliver card (Lazotep Sliver) so you could have a Zombie Orc Sliver Army.

controlled chaos is such an antithesis... :-P
