@@windowspotatodefender1452Systemic problems unfortunately means good cops get suppressed by the shitty ones. Look at George Floyd. The cop who said again and again to ease up on him and stop was put down by the senior officer. He didn’t feel like he could do anything because of the cop culture endemic to North American police/-yes, Canada has a problem too, they have a decently high death by cop ratio, though still nothing compared to the USA. I agree there’s lots of good cops, but the system of policing kkeeeps them from speaking out. Additionally, cops who unjustly assault people are 99.9% of the time put on paid leave for a short period of time while an internal investigation done by the police themselves investigated and absolves them, or they are transferred to another department. Very rarely is any real repercussions actually occurs.

It was more than 30 years ago, and I still feel the rage and the anger and the overwhelming, intense urge to get up and use ever ounce of strength in my body to beat the living life out of rapist. Luckily for me, he was getting just that in jail. Or at least I hope he was. I can't imagine how cops can go on daily dealing with people like that, and the kids, on a professional basis.
