I’m glad I can say I called Sean beating Izzy. It was the perfect storm. Izzy hates forward pressure, Sean is awkward and severely offbeat, and he has the highest striking defense in middleweight history.
Silva won 16 straight fights, only started losing WAY down the line after clowning in the ring and then getting his leg snapped in half. Izzy lost 3 of his last 7 fights in his prime. Izzy is 2nd all time middleweight, but he's not close to Anderson.
Anderson was still putting on absolute beating on guys and finishing almost every one of them when he was 33/34. Izzy has 5 finished in the UFC out of 16 fights. Silva has 14 finishes with 25 fights. Anderson is 100% better than Izzy is, was or could be. Silva did start losing all his fights til he was 40 older. If he stopped after losing to Weidman he would be 33-6 with 23 ko/tko, 3 subs and 8 decisions overall. And 16-2 in the UFC with 14 finished and 2 decisions. Comparing Andersons complete dominance to Izzy's wins is a joke. Silva dominated everyone he beat, for the most part. Izzy is a decision machine with a few finishes.

i've been watching the sport since 2006 and he is legit the most overrated champion i've ever seen. Zero variety in his attack and never seems to have the ability to lead the dance or have a plan B. This is his prime and we've seen him lose several times already and have extremely close fights, and terribly uneventful boring wins like you mentioned. His prime doesn't compare to Silva's or Jone's. They have tried to force the narrative that he's the best so much since the beginning. Literally people watch him get dog walked by Sean and lose yet again and right afterwards you still have people like Rogan and Schaub saying he's better than Silva and the best striker we've ever seen? its truly baffling.

None of the people izzy beat were good besides pereira and he only won via flash KO while being teed off on 🤷♂️ he was scared of 40yo Yoel, he barely beat rob the second time (credit for first time but rob is overrated as well) the Marvin fight wasn’t fun, he got dominated by Jan in the striking and grappling, he went 1-1 with a 6-1 mma fighter, went to war and barely survived against Kelvin bumselum, Jared fight sucked, and he lost his belt to a guy with zero top 5 wins. IZZY WAS NEVER GOOD MIDDLEWEIGHT WAS THAT BAD. Izzy wouldn’t be too 15 at flyweight/lightweight
i've been watching the sport since 2006 and he is legit the most overrated champion i've ever seen. Zero variety in his attack and never seems to have the ability to lead the dance or have a plan B. This is his prime and we've seen him lose several times already and have extremely close fights, and terribly uneventful boring wins like you mentioned. His prime doesn't compare to Silva's or Jone's. They have tried to force the narrative that he's the best so much since the beginning. Literally people watch him get dog walked by Sean and lose yet again and right afterwards you still have people like Rogan and Schaub saying he's better than Silva and the best striker we've ever seen? its truly baffling.

The whole Izzy is better than Anderson thing is really upsetting. It really shows how little we care for the Legends of MMA, it doesn't matter how much you did for the sport or how insane your skills were, as soon as a new hot kid appears, everyone already puts him in the GOAT discussion. Darren Till is a big example of that, his career was destroy by the massive expectations that we had on him. Rhonda Rousey is another example, the first women in history to ever throw a punch, the UFC did a massive marketing stunt on her, calling her the PIONEER of female MMA, shaping society perspective and completely forgetting of all the outer woman who were truly responsible for making FMMA a thing. It isn't about respect, skill or legacy, it's about MONEY.

Over the moon for Sean and in so far as future PPV numbers well love or hate people will pay. NOT every fighter can have movie parts in Black Panther for example... The fighters like Sean work hard and so what is they are not poster boys? I see the UFC as snobs and the face must fit... Well its the fight game not the celeb game. Listen to Sean and just read between the lines when he speaks.. he is funny... Charming in his own way.... Humble enough to know he is lucky in what chances he has had... Oh and intelligent enough to know what he dose best in the cage.. What you see is what you get with him... If its not for you or it is for you its genuine. Chael isn't the smartest guy in the sport by a country mile. However he is the best p4p#1 when it comes to teaching young fighters how to gain popularity but even more importantly, keeping that new found Fandom.

izzy does not deserve the rematch after fighting backwards the entire time and losing 4 rounds. izzy is 3-2 in his last 5. 1-2 in last 3. only reason dana is pushing for rematch is because sean is difficult to deal with as a champion
