      Man I was just thinking I wish that around 6 mins or 6:10 I wanted them to, like John's called it before, "go all Allman on it" and have a two part, harmonizing guitar solo for a few bars with the other guy who played that sweet solo (edit: oh yes, now I remember his name is Isiah Sharkey). That would've been awesome, although yeah, the way they did it, great solos all around.

      Let’s settle down, just a bit. John is very very good. The amount of sheer time Duane had was very limited. Duane is still revered as one of the all time greats to this Day. He was 25 in 71’.

      @@jacobmoloyrmt8217 spoke to Steve when he was doing a masterclass a few weeks ago, reason he couldn't make this tour is because he is focusing on the new verbs album he was originally meant to do the tour that's why pino is there, aaron hates touring so john probably threw a shit load of money at him. I do miss J.J Johnson though he is johns best main band drummer imo

    • @JohnLaco
      @JohnLaco 4 роки тому +2

      I love the vibe Aaron Sterling brings to the band. He's my favourite of John's drummers. Obviously, if there's a trio set, I want none other than SJ behind the kit. But nowadays with all of the folksy songs John does, Aaron is a much better fit. Aaron has a phenomenal "producer's ear" and really knows to listen and play to what the song needs. He can carry the energy through "Belief" and "Vultures" but he can also do the quiet brush-y, soundscapey stuff. In those situations Aaron outshines Steve 100%. Aaron is probably the most recorded drummer of the 2010's. So I learn to trust his judgement.
