When you got straight west on the globe you are on the same latitude than houston in texas or orlando in florida. So you are at the disneyworld of egypt! 😂
I look on the map and there is no life for a thousand miles to the south. Next life is an oasis in sudan.

Exactly, I got that one wrong. Where I am in Egypt is equivalent to the southern tip of Florida, so I was way off.

Come to Oman Gabriel , its cooling down over here...Omanis do actually enjoy going out and eat or just ordering online , we have lots of choices overhere , and of different price ranges , there are some nice choices if you are willing to have that authentic dining experince ...such as dining in a fort in the middle of its courtyard..in the middle of nature among palm trees or even at the desert underneath the starts 😄 lots of diversity in Oman but its spread out , but you could just stay in Muscat and go in day trips to the inner parts.

As you are unfamiliar with living in hot temperatures, you should take lots of water, 3 or 4 litres, for your bike ride and hike. Keeping hydration up is essential. Don't be out in the hottest part of the day, early morning or late afternoon are best. You should have a loose thick cotton full arms shirt or light jacket to keep the heat out, you will sweat inside of it and this will keep you cool. Hat essential to keep Sun off your face and neck. The Bedouin wear long clothes of many layers for this reason. People die if they ignore these things.

From what I've seen so far in your videos, lentil soup is a traditional food for Turkey and Egypt too, apart from Greece (which you haven't tried yet). Of course the cooking method is different, I think in Turkey it has a yellow color, whereas in Greece brown and more of a tomato texture.

  • @jeremynkelley

I have never commented on one of your videos. Hopefully you see this. #1 (off topic) seeing your video of Juneau AK motivated me to explore the idea of moving there. Which I did. I lived in a boat that I bought sight unseen for a year and LOVED it (I’m now in Arizona down by the border) #2 I really want to go to Egypt soon-ish and was thinking a bicycle would be a good idea. And now I see you on one. Do you also think a bicycle would be a good option in the big cities? Namely Alexandria. That’s where I think I’d like to spend time (and now Siwa is starting to appeal to me VERY much also).

    • @GabrielTravelerVideos
      @GabrielTravelerVideos  20 днів тому +1

Right on, that's cool to hear. A bicycle is certainly a good way to get around certain places in Egypt. Distances are long and desolate, so you might not want to use one to go from city to city unless you're up for a pretty huge adventure. Winter is a good time to go when it's cooler. Also look into places in the east such as Hurghada and Dahab. Have a great trip. ✌️👊🍺

    Hello Gabriel,
I like your monologues. I am your subscriber since many years. Though you are not crazy about number of subscribers. I know. I really respect you. You always hunt for quality in your streams. Original and unedited.
Gabriel, I just want to hear from you on on-going w@r between Israel and Palestine. I may have missed your point of view if you'd shared it earlier.
But it's been a year, since Israel has given a record-breaking violence to one community. And I am saying "community" (not any militia group). There are evidence to prove.
Now I hear war has further spread to Lebanon and West-Bank. I just wanted to hear from you why it started on September 7, what were the reasons behind that attack. And pls if you anyhow try to explain this pls don't include 2000 years ago anesthesia of promise land and other things. Just try to move around 100-200 years margin. That would do the justice.
I know people do have problems with muzlims, I totally understand this. Loudspeakers azans and backwardness and illiteracy among poor, illegal immigrations, proselytism(change someone's religion).. there may be N number of things. But do these reasons give you license to mass murder them? and their children.
Among those killed there may be parents who were gifted with a child after so many years. What would they do for the rest of their lives? September 7 came later. Balloons burst. Pain burst. Emotions burst. This will continue unless and until we have good leaders. For the time being forget Pharos and kings. What are your views on Netanyahu? who continues to ignore US advice.
I just want to hear from unbiased, nature learner, educated man like you. Through your videos you have made us subscribers travel around the world multiple times, virtually. Sometimes I think (I know you will never mind this) your subscribers by watching your videos understands the culture, nature, history more than you ✌😉.
I know you guys (youtubers) supported Ukraine against Russia. You were all correct. You were supporting weak against a bully. But Mr. Gabriel, what now?
You have a fundamental right to be silent on this issue. But then be a gentleman, as you are, and never support any nation in on-going current affairs related to hate and w@r.
    Thank you :)

Atrocity vlogger will show you what is wrong with a country. So when they would show India they will show you slums with run down buildings, trash and unhygienic street food.
If you see Kerala is a very successful post colonial society. Another successful post colonial society is Costa Rica.
However, the atrocity vlogger will not visit Kerala because there is nothing negative to show.
He will show Costa Rica and there he will show migrants taking donkey routes to USA. He will even try to trek through the forests with them to Nicaragua. I am sure Bald and Bankrupt has done something like that.

Atrocity Vloggers do what they do because they get tons of hate views and comments from people who's nation they are showing the bad side of, as well as views and engagement in the comments section from people who have a beef with those countries, which drives up the algorithms and thus increases the visibility of their channels, which in turn boosts their youtube income and chances of sponsorship.

Are you so insensitive as to be totally oblivious to the plight of women in z Egypt, and some of the other countries you visit? How would you feel forcibly wrapped in a black abaya and a hijab?

I see. I don't think there's any need for me to point out what's already very apparent.

Think about misdeeds in Judaism, that's for you. Muslims will maintain their own religion, they don't need your advice.

Was that really the Temple of Amun Oracle because when I was there in 1992 it was basically still standing for the most part! It wasn't laying in ruins on the desert floor.

There's the Oracle Temple and the Amun Temple, which are two different temples. I showed them both, but I just showed the Oracle Temple from the outside at the end. I'm assuming that neither of them have changed much in the past thirty years, but I could be wrong.
