Females shredding that bump bump bib bit bump. This music, idk, somin' about it is illusive and I lose myself by joining in your lyrics and rifts... Bassline is incredible, and the drums keep my head rocking. Keep it up. Colorado awaits you!
Well if that's the case then Warpaint is a full course meal from a 5 star restaurant...b/c the song "Warpaint" is one of the most complex songs I've ever heard. The collective improvisation in that song is pure genius and complicated as hell to pull off. The balance in Burgundy is perfect. Nothing beats that combination of intricate guitar lines and spine-tingling harmonies. And what's more authentic than the ethereal riff of Stars and dat bridge in Beetles! I'll consume Warpaint 24/7/365 baby!
New to this band, but, LOL...In the beginning drummer has sunglasses - sometimes not, this goes on and off for a while and she doesn't even miss a beat. Now that's amazing!
No I like everything. Metal, Classical, Rap, Dubstep, Chillwave, Pop, Country, etc. I like everything. I like all genres of music because I am extremely open minded when it comes to music.
I'm sorry, but it annoys me when people say this. You can find music anywhere and in so many different formats. Just because you don't stick to a genre or two doesn't mean you don't like music, in fact I think it encourages the way music has been developed. So thank you to all those people who said you like 'everything'.
I thoroughly agree w/ you. It's a shame a lot of these people don't realize how accurate that statement is. You weren't saying that people can't be eclectic and like multiple genres (anyone who listens to warpaint is probably pretty eclectic), but technically speaking, it's impossible for someone to like "everything". These people don't realize how many genres of music there are. How many of the people here claiming to like "everything" listen to Bachata, Free Jazz, or Mongolian voice music???
By your meaning the answer to your question still stand as sort of right as all music is the same. Also genres isn advertisement tool you might want to study music as in learn why genres are they are categorized by melody, rhythm counts repetitions of beats etc multiple reasonings. Also names of music style or genres; Rock, Rnb, Trances, classical etc were given through slangs terms, historical reasonings about that type of music.
Love the song and band, but this makes me think of Nicolas Cage in The Wicker Man... Also, notice Stella's sunglasses disappearing and reappearing between shots...
you can like a lot of music styles ,that doesnt mean you dont like music. its just like saying what kind of food you like theres tons and hard to choose from
I was just honestly curious because I like a bit of everything, including warpaint. So I was curious to what genres you like, since you don't prefer them. Can you list some bands then?
No they're the same gals in both videos...The one that starts singing at 2:52 (the blonde) is actually chunkier in this video and her hair isn't really blonde...I could see why you'd think that they switched atta point...
Music has subcategorized just as everything else is examples Animal Kingdom, food groups, Cellular structures, cell tissues, different dialects of the same countries if you're from north of your country you sound different from people in the south but they are still people of the same nation. From your perspective If person were to ask what race do you like? and they says "I like all races" means that they hate all races , blacks, asians, europeans, caribbean(Central america, south Indies)
It's not close-minded. It's logical. It comes down to taste. Do you like absolutely every edible thing in the world? Do you like every single person you've ever met, or will meet in the future? You can't like everything. It's physically impossible.
No it isn't physically impossible and no it isn't ignorant. It is ignorant to think so. I don't like every single song in every single genre. But I do like every genre. Each genre is unique in it's own way and that's why I like it. I see the art in ALL music. Same with food. I like chinese, japanese, american, italian, mexican, etc. I don't like every single food in those food catergories. But I still like the food as a whole.
O.o i dont get it, did they switch singers at some point? cuz im watching warpaint at rough trades sessions, and then i come to this vid. but a lot of the members don't look the same. the sound is similar though so im assuming either one of the vids. are really old and they switched members in the time passed inbetween the two vids?
Well you know how ladies are...they wanna look pretty and change up their look and what not...But I'm assuming this is an older video yes...None the less, I always watch this performance most out of every other one...=P
what if they started listing off "do make say think, blood of our enemies, danny brown, modest mouse, stars, taking back sunday, a Silver mt. zion, mozart, odd future, a$ap rocky, daughter, bright eyes, the acacia strain, emmure, transplants, blink 182, reba, system of a down, and explosions in the sky" and then they actually meant it, as in they could sing along with any randomly chosen song from any of those artists (or hum instrumentals)....thats a little bit of everything. we have no choice.
Liking every single song out there only shows that one has few to no standards, yes, but say one means "everything" so as to say that they believe every genre has potential. I'll listen to rock, bluegrass, jazz, opera, funk, traditional, techno, hip hop, four dudes making noises with their mouths, a lone drum set, whatever. I don't care about genre. All that matters is the piece at hand. Does that make me someone who doesn't like music or someone with an open mind and a set of standards?
if your talking about bands, i thought you meant genres, bc genre wise, i could list a band from every genre ever. from space acid jazz to death indie grind electronica bruh
i know thats supposed to be 'deep' but really i have yet to find a band i do not like. 20'000 artists, over 2 million songs...and i wouldnt consider this 'mainstream'...so really i do like everything
um i do. this is like unknown to me and yet here i am..and i like it. just like food. i have yet to find a food that i don't like. i've had squid, octopus, sushi, liver worst, muscles, oysters..i have yet to come across a food i haven't tried..fuck i've even had horse, cat, and dog meat...
I like this song and below I see some bs/philosophical comments...==why?===this is only music--take it or leave it--LIKE IT OR NOT---simple enough to understand?
Do you even KNOW every kind of music? I am a studying musician, and I can safely say (from experience) I have never met somebody who likes "everything".
Didn't I just explain about "genres". They only exist as an advertisement tool. And, again, you cannot like every genre of music because you can't of heard every genre of music. #You'reNotOnTwitter
These girls are really good. My band - All Impetus is looking for a vocalist Find us on sound cloud.com search all Impetus. We are from Metro Detroit. I you like us and don't sing, show your friends. Thank you
These girls are incredible. And watching the way they interact with each other while they play, you can see the love and friendship they have.
I'm grateful that some people are still willing to make music this well.
One of the better rhythm sections playing today. Creative as well as rock solid.
I'm grateful that some people are still wiling to make music this well.
Females shredding that bump bump bib bit bump. This music, idk, somin' about it is illusive and I lose myself by joining in your lyrics and rifts... Bassline is incredible, and the drums keep my head rocking. Keep it up. Colorado awaits you!
I thing this is the best song of warpaint!! U girls rock the world.!
Love the 'loose' aesthetic of Em's grooves. And Im pretty sure Stella figured out the secret to bending space and time at 3:18.
This is my favorite version of this song!
I'm in LOVE with them !!!!
They are brilliant!
this is just awesome
ahhhh i love it!! its nice to hear good music for a change(:

Music is truth, in its own way. Warpaint embodies this.
Epic drums! Awesome!
New to this band, but, LOL...In the beginning drummer has sunglasses - sometimes not, this goes on and off for a while and she doesn't even miss a beat. Now that's amazing!
so true, dream drumming, good as it gets.
No I like everything. Metal, Classical, Rap, Dubstep, Chillwave, Pop, Country, etc. I like everything. I like all genres of music because I am extremely open minded when it comes to music.
El inicio, el bajo de esta canción es encantador!
I haven't seen them live, but I think I should
yesssss...I've been looking for an awesome nerdy girl band for ages. Heavvvven.
i get shivers when i hear this....that means its goooooood :)

How about the top comments be about how much we love Warpaint? Keep being amazing, girls!!!!

early cocteau twins.. this is good what ever you want to say it looks like.. they got a good drummer ya"ll !
Love, love, love... Amazing!

This is prob one of the best bands around
Love the song and band, but this makes me think of Nicolas Cage in The Wicker Man...
Also, notice Stella's sunglasses disappearing and reappearing between shots...
+James Richards - More crappy video editing from the Yours Truly sessions.
you can like a lot of music styles ,that doesnt mean you dont like music. its just like saying what kind of food you like theres tons and hard to choose from
great song. congrats
My kind ascends your very understanding. We have no beginning. we have no end. you exist because we allow it. you will end, because we demand it.
I love how the drummer is laughing at 3:00-3:03
i totally agree. Warpaint has talent.
the band hasn't change. What's different is the position they're at, hair style and clothes.
I was just honestly curious because I like a bit of everything, including warpaint. So I was curious to what genres you like, since you don't prefer them. Can you list some bands then?
I Love Theresa Wayman she is great
Amo a estas chicas....
I in love with those girls, specially the bassist.
Emily's killing the leads on this one! I want to marry her
lovely
the bassist is the sister of actress shannin sosamon and the guitar singer cut yours veins on the bath in the rules of atraction film
I thought the guitarist/singer looked like the girl from The Rules of Attraction. And very cool that the bass player is Shannyn's sister.
J Woo Shannyn was also the original drummer before Stella..
puff ya soy fan
When somebody is asked, "what music do you like?", and they answer with, "everything", it reveals that they do not actually like music.
Woops, lol, I thought you were serious at first.
No they're the same gals in both videos...The one that starts singing at 2:52 (the blonde) is actually chunkier in this video and her hair isn't really blonde...I could see why you'd think that they switched atta point...

Gracias.
oh i see, they just changed their looks quite drastically to near unrecognizable xD but i can see it now. is this one of their earlier vids.?
finally Music!!!

O.o i dont get it, did they switch singers at some point? cuz im watching warpaint at rough trades sessions, and then i come to this vid. but a lot of the members don't look the same. the sound is similar though so im assuming either one of the vids. are really old and they switched members in the time passed inbetween the two vids?
samina mina eh eh waka waka eh eh

Well you know how ladies are...they wanna look pretty and change up their look and what not...But I'm assuming this is an older video yes...None the less, I always watch this performance most out of every other one...=P
I want to be them when I grow up
what if they started listing off "do make say think, blood of our enemies, danny brown, modest mouse, stars, taking back sunday, a Silver mt. zion, mozart, odd future, a$ap rocky, daughter, bright eyes, the acacia strain, emmure, transplants, blink 182, reba, system of a down, and explosions in the sky" and then they actually meant it, as in they could sing along with any randomly chosen song from any of those artists (or hum instrumentals)....thats a little bit of everything. we have no choice.
How does the drummer keep taking her sunglasses on and off?
Liking every single song out there only shows that one has few to no standards, yes, but say one means "everything" so as to say that they believe every genre has potential. Takes one to know one
I actually liked this. Reminds me of Luscious Jackson, for some reason.
Is that a pick making the noise throughout the whole song?
if your talking about bands, i thought you meant genres, bc genre wise, i could list a band from every genre ever. from space acid jazz to death indie grind electronica bruh
@Maria198ify Wow how the hell did you notice that :D !
What kind of music do you like?
Its the Continuity fairy
@az0r22 thanks :D. But that thing it's creepy...
I am in love with Victoria Legrand
i know thats supposed to be 'deep' but really i have yet to find a band i do not like. 20'000 artists, over 2 million songs...and i wouldnt consider this 'mainstream'...so really i do like everything
Is that Shannon Sossamon on bass?
How does she randomly get sunglasses on @ 3:05?
Good argument. It does.
On pitchforkdotcom?
Have a listen to 'Hailstones' by Autumn Tourists
um i do. this is like unknown to me and yet here i am..and i like it. just like food. i have yet to find a food that i don't like. i've had squid, octopus, sushi, liver worst, muscles, oysters..i have yet to come across a food i haven't tried..fuck i've even had horse, cat, and dog meat...
P.S. Have you never heard of fusion before?
EXCUSE ME PLEASE! what effect is Emily using on her guitar?.. a certain pedal?
stella at 2:18 is wearing sunglasses, and at 2:25 she doesn't. ??
the rift sounds exactly one of Aphex Twin's melodies from mars
yaaaaah vag bannnnds!
nah it means they like everything yo
i like the name WARPAINT.
I like this song and below I see some bs/philosophical comments...==why?===this is only music--take it or leave it--LIKE IT OR NOT---simple enough to understand?
blabla wtf ♥
Me fascina lo diferente y única q es esta banda,, un sonido q es raro para una banda de féminas,, hoy en día nadie como ellas -,-
left the band 2008
Congratulations?
Do you even KNOW every kind of music? I am a studying musician, and I can safely say (from experience) I have never met somebody who likes "everything".
reminds me of early the cure somehow
