Thank you! I use: Quick-Rise Instant Yeast. When you activate your yeast leave it in a warm place ( i keep beside the oven or in the microwave) Let me know how it goes! Good luck! :)
Today I did my first batch of paps secos, they came ok just missing their puffiness. What went wrong?. We love papos secos, since we moved to the south it is hard to find a Portuguese Bakery. Your video was very well done and easy. Thank you.
I did it!! I subbed the oil for salted butter but they came out perfect 🤩 My Portuguese mother in law was so impressed when I FaceTimed her to show her
Great video straight to the point and all the info needed is here. Thank you for this. I actually have them proving for the second time now let’s see how I did.
Hi. I tried your recipe and other similar ones. The dough rises very well but the buns are flat and heavy after baking. Not sure what I'm dying wrong. Would leaving the fan on in the oven cause this?
Hi, probably the kneading time wasn't enough, or you added too much flour when you kneaded, and the dough has been too dry. Next time, try bread flour, helps a lot! Hope that helps. Thanks for watching my video.
Hi Lina! This recipe looks amazing and quite easy to follow. Any suggestions or things I should be wary of if I am going to hand mixing these, as I don't have a stand mixer. Thank you in advance!!
Hi Susana, thank you! :) If you're doing by hand, start the dough in a bowl: 1st put the flour, create a hole in the middle and add all the ingredientes. With a help of a wooden spoon or a dough scraper combine everything together. Knead the dough in your working surface until doesn't stick to your hands. Good luck, hope this helps. Let me know how came out! :)
@@linaskitchen1 Hi Lina, thanks for getting back to me! I made this recipe today and they were delicious. The inside wasnt as airy as yours and the papo secos I usually buy are. Turned out more like a regular bun. Outside consistency also wasnt the same as yours. Any ideas on what may have gone wrong?
@@SusanaV33 Hi Susana, thank you for letting me know that was delicious :) Probably the type of flour, overmixing or too much flour when kneading. Try to change the oil for butter.
I just tried these...I was trying to replicate the flavor of my childhood. We just called it "Portuguese rolls" or "Portuguese white bread" if we got it in a loaf. Then the Portuguese bakery closed. These taste similar to what I remember, but not quite. I think I did something wrong. The first rise went well, but the second proof did not get nearly as big as yours. Mine came out flat and dense. I don't know what I might have done wrong.
Normally when we get a dense or heavy bread is because we didn't knead it enough. The dough is ready when will be smooth and shouldn't stick too much. Good luck, hope this helps. Let me know how came out next time. Thank you! :)
Great video..beautiful looking rolls..please explain what type of yeast you used..I have only instant yeast.. never froths like in your video. Tx

So delicious can you please tell us how many cups of flour is 500g . .? Thank you
Thank you for watching my videos. 500gr is around 2 cups. :)
It seems perfect but do you have the measurements in gr and cl? Because I have no idea of how much is a cup, tbsp or tsp? 😅
Hi, thank you for watching my video 😊
1 cup = 250ml 1 Tbsp=15gr 1Tsp=5gr

Thank you Ana! :)
Fabulous
Thank you! :)
Hi, what kind of milk are you using? I only have lactose free milk. Will this work?
Hi, i use the 2% milk. If you try with lactose free milk let me know :)
Lina's Kitchen hi it worked out fine but it came out too dense. I probably have to add more liquid.
