Actually the Starbucks and Nexflix analogies are spot on because while Starbucks and Netflix don’t pay you for your time when your make posts about them, NEITHER DO MLMs! 😂
it was priceless when Hannah called the Starbucks analogy stupid, unpaused the video, and the first thing out of the hun’s mouth was the Starbucks analogy. I laughed so hard.
"Be coachable" is the MLM version of the standard abuser's, "Be nicer/stop fighting/don't be a bitch" whenever you question them. It's just to throw all the blame on the victim so they blame themselves for their abuse.
Yes, don't question ALL the things that don't make sense and are giant red flags waving like crazy. If you ask questions, you are not coachable. Or another gem, "When a higher rank is speaking, you have nothing worthy to say and should only be listening."
Ugh yes. Part of my job is coaching people to gently push them to take uncomfortable action. If they are "uncoachable," then it's either my job to help them overcome the obstacle that's making them "uncoachable", or stop working with them because I clearly can not help them. In short, people are not "uncoachable." It's a matter of can the coach help them or not. Edit: so to clarify. Uncoachable can mean that they don't want help, which is fine! Everyone's happy. But it can also mean that they are rejecting the advice. And that's a gateway into actual growth. Why are they rejecting the advice? Maybe it's bad advice? Maybe it's good advice but not suitable for them? Maybe it's great advice but there's a pain/fear keeping them from taking action? For example, in an MLM, a common reaction is that people are unable to scam others even though they know it's what they're being told to do. That's not being "uncoachable." That's their body actually refusing to perform an action that goes against their values.
THANK YOU for calling out these users for using domestic violence to sell their stupid “opportunity.” It is SO predatory. I myself am a DV survivor and although I’m thoroughly anti-MLM, back then I was so desperate to get out I may have been vulnerable enough to have joined one. The fact that that fear is exploited makes my blood boil.
I too was in a DV situation and completely agree with this... I'm just grateful that no one pitched to me during what has been the most vulnerable time of my life
@Life, Love and Mental Illness a vlog channel Yeah, in Thrive-speak the sales level / categories are called things like "12K" and "40K" and "200K" It has nothing to do with x-thousand dollars AT ALL. It's just designed to vaguely imply (to the casual observer) like someone at sales level "200K" is earning $200,000. Super-sneaky, purposely calculated, carefully crafted illusions like this are all over MLMs' sales pitches.
Uggghh. Grinds my gears hearing the Huns use the term "Residual" within MLM's to indicate a source of income. "Residual" does NOT apply to MLM's at all. "Residuel" is for stuff like music, acting, book writing etc. Where you create something ONCE & then you continue to earn off of that one thing you created, long after without having to do anything more for it
" Another company I had been building for months up and shut down." Uhhh...ma'am. If you actually built that company, it wouldn't have been such crazy news that it was shutting down.
I’m not as kind as Hannah. I cannot extend any grace to hun #1. This is not her first rodeo and she’s using the language of faith and religion to sell crap. To the timeout chair ma’am!
I expect that it's part of the same razzle-dazzle game as them making content from their cars - they want to project this image of them always being on the go and super busy because it ties in with the image they have of a successful corporate type, and as much as they like to rib on people who work 'regular nine to fives' they 1) do like the legitimacy-feel of a corporate setting (I think Hannah talked about that with regards to one of those big MLM-meets in another video), and 2) they heavily glamorise and romanticise CEO-core (or what it means to be a 'CEO' in their minds, anyway)
Thank you for discussing this without the anger, aggressiveness and profanity I have seen on so many other anti-mlm channels. Your thoughtfulness and articulate intelligent posts are appreciated by this 73 year old lady. 💛🌿🌻🌿💛
I actually do believe the more well known reps get asked what they do because they’re SO VAGUE and NEVER say the business that they’re with. Understandable why people are curious when all they do is talk about a mystery business and mystery income!!
Also...do they not understand that "no experience necessary at all, we'll take literally anyone!" is not a good thing? XD Legitimate industries want specialists with precise training and education that will benefit their company in specific ways. The MLM "no experience necessary to make tons and tons of money" narrative is a big red flag to me :P It says "beware, this is not a legitimate company, and likely they don't need any experience from you because experience won't actually help, because your income is not within your realm of control" ;P
I've been binging Hannah`s channel for about two weeks. And I've learned my introverted and excessively blunt self has kept me from only being pitched a MLM "opportunity" once.

Lol found the Hun 😂 Netflix and Starbucks don't need to hire distributors to beg people to use their products. Sorry if this explanation hurt your brain
Lol. I’m didn’t realize that I was making the same face as Hannah after the rep saying “the biz is already established and won’t just shut down,” which by the way. IT CAN!! Lord that first rep already got my eyes rolling at just 5 minutes in!
Here I find myself, licking my wounds, after finally realizing I’ve been scolding myself for “not being successful” in MLM or direct sales. I’m so GLAD now that I wasn’t “successful” according to their standards because it would’ve meant I completely sold my soul to it. I’ll admit I sounded like these people for way too long but the nagging from my heart that something has been “off” all this time…it’s real. I had a legit LLC as a stylist before ever joining the first direct sales opp I was in. Turns out that’s what was nagging at me-that the DS and MLM model-rides on a lot of empty promises and broken relationships. Thanks for doing the work you do here with awareness.
It is always SO funny to me when they say these products are ground-breaking/life changing and that they sell themselves. Okay but if they ‘sell themselves’ why do we need distributors being the middle (wo)men? Like you said, if they’re that amazing of products, they would be available direct-to-consumer!
Hey Hannah! I just found your channel through Kiki Chanel’s channel. I freakin have been binge watching you for 4 days straight 🤣🤣🤣 I absolutely love what you are doing cuz this crap is a scam and it’s so true! All of it! 💕💕
Love your channel Hannah, and i know you do your research! Please note that between 38 and 43% of Americans are either in poverty , “lower class” for the living costs where they live, or struggling in the lower half of “middle class”, so, I’m not sure “most” people can afford to buy a house and a car.
so true! i love these videos, but i cringed at that part. i feel like most people i know don't think they will ever be able to afford their own home even if they're lucky enough to have a partner and extra income.
Boo is the prime example of how mlms can and will shut down at a moments notice essentially leaving their reps without a job, but it's their business 🤣
That is a really good point. I also believe that people don't actually message these huns about the opportunity and they just say they get these messages.
As for the questions, Jessica Hickson's former downline Melanie said that she would have Q&A lives on IG, and almost all of the questions were made up by her. "Fake it til you make it."
Yes exactly! It's crazy that you're able to submit responses to your own question box and I'm sure a lot of people do that to create a false sense of importance and engagement!
The other issue with the Starbucks analogy is that companies like Netflix etc DO pay people to market their services/items. It’s called sponsored ads/partnerships and they’re all over social media.
I love when they are like “ohhhhh you can take advantage of my discount” or “ I get a 50% discount” They make it seem like you are getting a massive discount when the price is still hella expensive after this “discount”
I'm a SAHM whose husband makes enough money for us to afford cars, a house, vacations, etc. Pretty sure he's never needed to go on social media and brag about that. Also, she doesn't even get paid to advertise her "brand." She does all that marketing FOR FREE in the hopes of getting sales and/or recruits.
I honestly think that MLM reps are better advertisement for Starbucks than anything else at this point, they mention it so much XD (Hint hint to the hun: your MLM isn't paying you for posting about products either lol, you only get paid if you recruit or sell XD)
But they'll lie to people and claim that the company puts their "advertising budget" into "paying distributors instead" until they're blue in the face, the cows come home and humans have evolved.
@@capercaillieskye honestly, I'm struggling to find one. I've thought hard for a witty response to "well, they won't lie and say this", but I legitimately couldn't think of one thing xD i thought of a million things they will lie about, though. It's truly sad how greedy some people are. To know that they're essentially robbing families of their livelihoods to make one for themselves is despicable.
Who else here lived for Savannah’s two recent videos and the legal matters with BOO? The audacity of BOO threatening a lawsuit…definitely need Emily D. Baker to break down the poorly written letter by BOO’s attorney, Savannah’s ASMR reading of the cease and desist, and her epic response. I’m going to miss BOO videos.
Poaching happen in regular businesses also. I work for Fedex as a package handler. A lot of not most of people can’t handle the job or hate the job and quit right away. The past few months they have been paying 25 bucks an hour. They have a lot of signs outside and advertising letting people know about 25 per hour. The sad thing is over the last couple month I have met so people who left a great job to come to Fedex for the 25 per hour. 2 weeks later they quit and they have lost that other job. It is really a sad thing!!!!
There not even creative they use the same shit . Do they go to the same MLM trainings . Use Starbucks, use Netflix’s to pitch your lie .. You were right on point Hannah 👍🏽
I just found your page. I have shared it on my social media pages. I've seen SO MANY friends get screwed by MLM. They are an absolute plague in GEN X. Thank you for these.💕
Yesssss. I love that this video timed perfectly with my alone time and crosslisting time (yes that's what I'm doing in my alone time...reseller life hahaha).
I absolutely do not believe that they are getting all these messages. It's a tactic like you said to create fomo, to create a sense of urgency and a "get on the bandwagon" type of marketing.
Your completely right about mlm Huns claiming they get a ton of inquiries about something justttt so they can make a story out of it while attempting to manipulate anyone watching with the responses(to the fake inquiries 🤣)
In Young Living we had I think either 30 or 60 days to "stack" someone and place them where we wanted within the pyramid. I mean - so many people have to go under one person to make that one person successful right? Using people like literal pawns. I never stacked people but my uplines drilled it into us during trainings on multiple occasions.
You did an adorable mis-speak when you referred to the Nobel PEACE prize. They are remarkable people, but they tend not to be good scientists. Could have been the prize for medicine or chemistry, but peace, not so much
Hannah, have you explored the lobby behind MLM's? A few years ago it seemed like there was a pretty significant lobby in Washington that sadly made it seem (at least to me) that it may be a harder fight than I once thought
Hannah: "this and the Starbucks analogy does my head in.." *play* Hun: "Starbucks..." I literally LOL I had to pause and catch my breath. This editing was GOLD!!!!
What I don't understand with these "law students" (air quotes since there is no evidence she really is one) is that aren't they trained to look for loopholes and read the fine print in contracts? Did she even read the full documentation on the MLM?
As a practicing attorney, my experience is that lawyers are the worst about reading most contracts. 😆 And law students are learning…the law, by which I mean the case law surrounding contracts, rather than the contracts themselves. She’d have to be in a much more specialized course to look for and understand what she’s reading.
I love that you aren't afraid to show and discuss the worst of the worst mlm clips because it's your channel specifically that shows the absolute furthest extreme of how awful huns can act when brainwashed by mlms. That women using her domestic violence story to get recruits was so sad and horrifying to see.
I think people really do message the huns, but it's probably because they say something like, "You can make $1,000 a week working from home! Ask me how!", and not, "Message me to join my MLM!"
Oehhhh, that last one really pulled back the curtain on themselves - it doesn't matter to them how hard you work. It doesn't matter a lick to them how much effort you put in, how positive and open your mindset is, *you* don't matter to them - they only care about the money you put in.
It’s funny that the hun claimed she got loads of questions about what she does, then at the very end of her spiel, she is basically begging for people to send her messages…
Before finding your channel, I had no idea there were THIS MANY MLMs, hoty crap. I knew about like, 5. And I was like "yeah I guess some people will try and realize it doesn't work and stop" and turns out it's this whole thing in so many countries and so many people. MIND. BLOWN. I don't get how this is even a thing
The first hun... all the religiosity language rolling off her tongue. Gross. And I caught myself talking to my screen when she said "my team literally has doubled in size since last week." And I said out loud, "Yeah right. From 1 to 2 is technically double!" LOL she probably signed up her first victim...eeer "team member." 🤣
Sharing stuff to your story is actually PR, not marketing. Depending on how it's shared either good or bad it's PR nonetheless. Yes, the company benefits, but it's not marketing. PR is brand reputation. People sharing they like something is a good thing. And, it's excellent PR :-) Ppl sharing they hate something is PR. And, it's something a company needs to track to know what they need to fix or take care of.
Hi Hannah, I was watching one of your video where you were comparing the law of attraction with Karma. What is actually happening is that we are all bombarded with so much information and stimulation all the time. Our brain has to decide what we are going to keep. We keep what we believe best matches our core belief system and our world view. If we believe the world is a safe place full of mostly nice people, or a fearful place full of dangerous people, we tend to filter out information that contradicts our world view and incorporate information that supports it. The distinction between manifesting a result and role modeling good behavior is subtle, but it is much more Ingrained than just behavior or thought. Our core belief systems are very hard to change. Core beliefs are where things like honesty, ethics, belief in a god reside. It takes very concerted brainwashing efforts to change core beliefs. This is why DV is so hard to work on because a perpetrator suffers from a faulty belief system and not an anger problem. So does his or her prey. They both they are in control of the violence. The perpetrator believes he or she has the right to control everything and everybody in his sphere of influence. His or her prey will begin to suffer under the delusion that if he or she behaves in a way that pleases the perpetrator the violence won’t happen this time. Both are faulty beliefs. But, this is a predator prey and hawks know what bunnies look like. The hawk was hunting when he or she found the bunny. The bunny wasn’t looking or wishing for a hawk. I got a bit side tracked there. But I believe that MLMs are using absolutely nots one of the same techniques many DV perpetrators use to lure in their victims. If they were monsters on the first date, their victim would run off. Most of w I'm still in shockhat they do in the beginning seems very loving to some women. Most of us would find it off putting, but some of the behavior is love bombing while isolating her from her support system. He may tell her that her sister is a whore and hit on him. That her parents don’t like him. He won’t like her friends. In the beginning, he’ll buy her clothes or ask her to wear certain things to look good for him. Soon he controls what she wears. Then it doesn’t make sense for them to have separate money and he’ll just take care of everything for her. Soon she won’t make a move without his input and then permission. He may or may not hit her, but he will be in control and probably unpredictable. Hope this makes some sense. I see yesa lot of similarities.
Why do they talk about legacy as if they can pass their downline down to their kids or something? If it was THEIR business they would be able to do that
That was a huge thing in the one I was in. I even went to this overview meeting once, and a couple there brought their young grandkid who was only like 16 and they made him stand up and wave to everyone, and they talked about how one day the “biz” could be his lol so cringey!!!
@@miss_andry1857 I honestly don’t know I didn’t stay in it for very long! It does sound sketchy and I never really understood that whole aspect of it lol
Second comment here…thank you for helping me heal pretty much in one video. 😆 Validating so many of the thoughts I’ve had for all these years. Can’t say how happy I am to finally be on the other side of this phase of my life!!! 😅😩😂🥳🥳 Also just wanted to thank you for the classy way you approach all this. Truly awesome.
I cannot stand Target, Starbucks, "you're already doing it without being paid", my god, can't they have ONE ORIGINAL THOUGHT? also I agree, MLM behaviour don't... function in real life. BYL gives me massive WFABB vibes. no thank you.
Nooooo way... An average for teachers doesn't truly exist because there are absolutely so many levels of income nland normally is very, very low. So many teachers can't afford to teach and have multiple jobs on the side. It's not till you've been teaching for a while do you get "comfortable." 65k is not livable in many parts of the country as well.
Has Hannah done a dive on Mary Kay, Avon, Pampered Chef, etc? I love the longevity of PC products and I vividly remember my mom hosting the parties and earning "free" items. I would buy them if they weren't part of a scheme.
Hey Hannah and people of UA-cam sooo I was getting my reality tv fix from Hulu and I am pretty sure that boo was being promoted by the manzo boys in RHWNJ season 3. It like episode 15 or 16. But they were talking about this black “water” with folic acid basically being pitched a MLM. I freaking flipped! It’s very antidotal but I thought others might remember this or be interested in this little tid bit of info also this was filmed in like 2010-11. So totally fits with the company’s starts. So freaking weird!
@@HannahAlonzo I know right! seriously couldn’t believe it. It was like so obviously an MLM pitch too. And then they thru like a whole party for the “company” so I wonder if they came out of pocket to gain distributers or if the actual company paid them to throw this party

@@Honey_Daddy I entirely agree >.
"...but now BOO is gone." That phrase could be describing multiple scenarios! Ha!
Here for it! 👏👏👏
Savannah absolutely OWNED BOO in her response!
Also I love Emily's breakdowns. So thorough and helpful!

MLM Hun: I'm just going to answer the dozens of messages I'm getting about what I do!!
Wow wtf amazing analogy on the school teacher 🙄🙄🙄🙄 ours are just on strike because it does not, in fact, pay enough.
I laughed so hard when the starbucks analogy came up RIGHT after you mentioned how sick you were of hearing it. 😂
I can't make this stuff up...
Can't believe you're up to 31! Love it!! Thank you for continuing to create this content
How insane is that?? Where did the time go?!
This poor girl. She’s so much like my sister. Totally taken in and excited by everything. Only positive vibes and thinking this is God blessing her.
"I'm a professional! I've been doing this for 3 years and prior to that had no idea what Network Marketing is!".
There not even creative they use the same shit . Do they go to the same MLM trainings . Use Starbucks, use Netflix’s to pitch your lie .. You were right on point Hannah 👍🏽
It honestly makes me so sad these people are thinking they are changing lives when they are actually just hurting people
I just found your page. I have shared it on my social media pages. I've seen SO MANY friends get screwed by MLM. They are an absolute plague in GEN X. Thank you for these.💕
The Monat hun who preyed on nurses and teachers who are not willing to comply to the mandate is disgusting.
Agreed!
Yesssss. I love that this video timed perfectly with my alone time and crosslisting time (yes that's what I'm doing in my alone time...reseller life hahaha).
Ahh I love that!!
The British lady talked non-stop! I kept listening for where she took a breath…how did she even do that? Crazy!
I have a hunch it's all a bunch of lies! 🤣
It's so crazy! Feels icky!
You did an adorable mis-speak when you referred to the Nobel PEACE prize. They are remarkable people, but they tend not to be good scientists. Could have been the prize for medicine or chemistry, but peace, not so much
Oh my gosh yes I did 😂 oops! Trust me, I know not all of them are peace prizes
If she says "blessed" or "blessing" one more time, I'm gonna puke
But being in an MLM is a blessing Dave!
@@HannahAlonzo .. 🤢.. 🤢.. 🤮
the valentus/byl rep is filling out my metaphorical mlm bingo board. there might be a bingo somewhere lol
Oh my gosh yes 😂
The longer the better! I love the long vids thank you Hannah!
Agreed! This one wasn’t as long as I was hoping, but I’ve got some longer ones coming next week!
Hannah's eye rolls are my favorite.
Hannah, have you explored the lobby behind MLM's? A few years ago it seemed like there was a pretty significant lobby in Washington that sadly made it seem (at least to me) that it may be a harder fight than I once thought
They need that on a shirt. “My job actually pays me”
OMG YES
😂😂😂
Love your Listening Teacher Face. It’s comforting.
every time an MLM hun says "blessing/blessed" I roll my eyes so hard
Thank the lord she isn't a lawyer omg
Exploiting people's pain and trauma to sell your product or recruit them into your mlm is just really really gross!
There always SO EXCITED OVER THIS AMAZING OPPORTUNITY.. it’s so FAKE !!
Why are the "just wanted to hop on here real quick" videos from huns NEVER QUICK?
Hannah: "this and the Starbucks analogy does my head in.."
*play*
Hun: "Starbucks..."
I literally LOL I had to pause and catch my breath. This editing was GOLD!!!!
Wait, a law student in an MLM? So you KNOW you are in a scam, but just don't have morals? Lovely hun..
Guessing it wasn’t corporate law.
I love that you aren't afraid to show and discuss the worst of the worst mlm clips because it's your channel specifically that shows the absolute furthest extreme of how awful huns can act when brainwashed by mlms. That women using her domestic violence story to get recruits was so sad and horrifying to see.
You have excellent intellectual burns 😆 everytime you finished a retort I was thinking "pow!" "Periodt!"
You are honestly one of the most endearing creatures and your videos are everything. You are so thorough and thoughtful! Thanks for doing God's work!!
You're too sweet Cassidy! Thanks for your support!
Laying here with a cup with my elementary school's logo wearing a shirt for my elementary school 🤣
Hahahaha yep! 1 to 2 is still technically doubling! 😂
@@HannahAlonzo probably her mom
If it was THEIR business they would be able to do that
Right? As if it’s going to be stable or long-lasting enough to create generational wealth 🙄
That was a huge thing in the one I was in. I even went to this overview meeting once, and a couple there brought their young grandkid who was only like 16 and they made him stand up and wave to everyone, and they talked about how one day the “biz” could be his lol so cringey!!!
@@d.andrews9316 so you can pass down your downline?Sounds illegal
@@miss_andry1857 I honestly don’t know I didn’t stay in it for very long! It does sound sketchy and I never really understood that whole aspect of it lol
Happily shares my recommendations because I have no need to monetize every aspect of my life lol.
I'm so glad I have found your channel! I've learned so much!
I’m literally so livid at her saying daycare was unsafe she’s super judgy of us parents
Which if she was smart, she would try to pitch to other moms during drop off and pick up.
im assuming that she said that because of her abusive ex? but probably not knowing how these huns are
I think it was about the abusive ex maybe finding them!
“Monatborhood” so cringey 🤣
Second comment here…thank you for helping me heal pretty much in one video. 😆 Validating so many of the thoughts I’ve had for all these years. Can’t say how happy I am to finally be on the other side of this phase of my life!!! 😅😩😂🥳🥳
Also just wanted to thank you for the classy way you approach all this. Truly awesome.
Ah yes, the "beyond grateful, blessed and thankful" brag...
Great video! I’m glad you popped up in my feed. Commence binge-watching 😂!
Yayy Tara! So happy you’re here! 🥰
Every time she opens her mouth, I can only think, "The only way is Essex".
She's northern isn't she? I'm I'm Sheffield and I'd say she's from Manchester area
If Netflix was an MLM I'd probably join 😂😂
I cannot stand Target, Starbucks, "you're already doing it without being paid", my god, can't they have ONE ORIGINAL THOUGHT?
also I agree, MLM behaviour don't... function in real life.
BYL gives me massive WFABB vibes. no thank you.
@Heather Clark yes!!!! it's like, how did Starbucks hurt you? I roll my eyes so much, they're so pathetically predictable.
I'd love one of them to try that line on me and reply, "never heard of Starbucks." Their head would probably 🤯
These HUNS get absolutely NO messages at all .. lol 😂
Some of these ppl are just straight up scammers and they know and we know but idk why we pretend that they’re not and don’t know.
Yay! I always love seeing a new video in my notifications 😆
Wooooo! 🙌🏻
I laughed so hard when you talked about what if I got online and said thanks to my school for paying me ahaha
Has Hannah done a dive on Mary Kay, Avon, Pampered Chef, etc? I love the longevity of PC products and I vividly remember my mom hosting the parties and earning "free" items. I would buy them if they weren't part of a scheme.
Bless her servant heart ❤️
Hey Hannah and people of UA-cam sooo I was getting my reality tv fix from Hulu and I am pretty sure that boo was being promoted by the manzo boys in RHWNJ season 3. It like episode 15 or 16. But they were talking about this black “water” with folic acid basically being pitched a MLM. I freaking flipped! It’s very antidotal but I thought others might remember this or be interested in this little tid bit of info also this was filmed in like 2010-11. So totally fits with the company’s starts. So freaking weird!
Ooh that’s interesting!!
@@HannahAlonzo I know right! seriously couldn’t believe it. It was like so obviously an MLM pitch too. And then they thru like a whole party for the “company” so I wonder if they came out of pocket to gain distributers or if the actual company paid them to throw this party
I never heard of most of the mlm's mentioned in this vid. Interesting.
The girl who went to law school but not practicing law - can you imagine her friends who are practicing law seeing these videos and their bafflement that she’s bragging about having a car and a house?
2:55 but if it was her business like these people try and claim, then how could someone else close it down without giving her a warning?
Exactly! Not your own business if it's at risk of being shut down at any moment for reasons out of your control.
