I've caught common carp on the fly rod when they were rutting but the only grass carp I ever caught was by accident. Caught him while throwing a topwater plug bass fishing a 75 acre pond near Columbia, SC. The water was dingy and by the way it hit the lure I thought I had a bass at first. Ended up being a 12 lb grass carp. Now after watching this video I see I'm going to be sight fishing grass carp with the fly rod when I can't get to the mountains to chase trout. Good stuff, Drew. Keep making the videos.

This is one of my favorite ways to fish in town, whether it’s on the river or a local pond. Monster carp and fairly hard to predict as well. Great video.
