She is a wonderful, independent women who is serving her country well. All the best. I have deep respect for all soldiers in Western world regardless of their gender, skin color or ethnic background.
What an inspiring, independent woman! Nice house, and the kids have probably made lots of friends with neighbours. I love the part where she says "you look hungry", and her son replies "you look happy!". Beautiful!!!
I remember me and my grandmother watching this and it was the one of the things we got along trying to see what house they would choose and if I won I got ice cream I'm so grateful for this show she passed away 5 years ago and rewatching made me so grateful for the time we did and this includes watching this show at 6pm ❤
any parent would be proud of any home for there family ! She has the option to pay for what was important to her for her family! To each their own!!! Very nice home !
I think she should've gotten house 2. For that price she could've combined 2 rooms to make a master bedroom, add an on-suite, and done landscaping with money left over. Not to mention a great location.
Yep, 15 mins away from 3 small kids rather than 45 mins is huge. Besides 100k under budget solves every problem she has with bathroom and front yard. So her boys are sharing a room, she's 40 plus mins away, she has less privacy in a townhouse, and she spent almost 300K (293) for no Real Yard! Silly decision.
Not everyone wants to do work or have to deal with something like that. She is busy being a single mom and working a hard long hour job. So it was not right for her. No point doing that when you can get it already in another place without the work.
It's not silly. Some people like condos and townhouses. A lot of family do live in stuff like that with small rooms and space. A lot of people are far away from work or school and stuff. There is nothing wrong with being 45 min away at all. A lot of people have to do that sometimes. It's what she wanted and fits her children just fine. They are small and don't need huge space at all. Just because it's not what you want or think is best does not mean she did bad. And a lot of children share a bedroom.
I totally agree with you. the new house she bought is costing her an hour to an hour and a half commuting time. every day, which is time she could have spent with her kids. I think she will regret her choice.
I would never, ever pick a townhouse with a 40 minute (with no traffic) commute over a bigger single family home with a 15 minute commute that costs over $40K less. Appliances, flooring and fixtures can be changed. I also don't care if a family has lived there before; I kind of like thinking that a house has a history. However, that's me. I just hope that horrible commute hasn't gotten to her.
The cheaper one even had updated appliances, and real hardwood floors which the townhouse didn't have. The only thing lacking in that home for me was an ensuite that could easily be added.
Who cares if people lived in the house before? Unless you're having you new build built to your design and specifications, it really doesn't matter. Anyway, I knew she'd buy the apartment. She bought that kitchen and en suite. Understandable, I guess, but give me a free standing home any day of the week.
Yes i would have chosen the older home. She could fix it the way she wanted because it was under budget.Plus her commute to work wad only 15 minutes from her work.
I'm glad that you picked the house that you wanted! :) it looks awesome! You are after all the only one that can decide what was best for you and your family. Your kids are sooo cute by the way! :)
She picked the wrong house. She didn't consider the cost of Housing Association living in a townhouse. The colors she chose for walls...no no. She should have chosen the house 15 minutes from her job.
I knew she was going to pick the first home. lol me personally I would have gotten the second home. But glad she is happy with her choice, that's all that matters.
House #2 makes the most sense. It's quaint, sturdy, with a wood-burning fireplace, FIVE bedrooms, and a private backyard. And she'll be saving so much money. Who cares of someone's lived there before? It would be more well built than anything new.
I agree. I found that she was focusing too much on all the "bells and whistles". Houses that were built back were 10 x built better than most new construction. Now everything is made from laminated sawdust lol. This show is 7 years old. I wonder if she's sick of that 40-60 minute commute? That makes a big difference
I hate when these shows say "Oh it's $50,000 under budget we can renovate blah blah blah" NO! That's not how it works (in Canada anyway) - just because you're approved for a mortgage at a certain threshold doesn't mean you'll be approved for a cheaper mortgage + a renovation loan. It's BS
No, but you can get a cash mortgage loan. Also, there is the possibility of a line of credit. The best option though is just to save your own money for renovations. Less debt is always best!
+T Ritchie No parent is going to pick a house with tiny bedrooms and no master over a nice new construction with a master. She made the right decision from the looks of it and it's the one I would've picked as well. :)
You are so right she was so short sighted! $100,000 to renovated plus a 15 minute commute (imagine.if her kids are hurt or she needs to get them quickly).
+affinity rizzo No parent SHOULD pick a 3 BR over a 5 BR home that has already been updated, is closer to work, has a cheaper price tag, a budget to customize AND INCREASE home equity the day you move in. A smart single parent would not pick a home 45 minutes away with 3 small children, when a safer, cheaper, more customizable option is present. Falling for "New" is her problem.
Sometime seven if kids are hurt you still have to take time to get to where your child or children are. So no matter what you won't ever be close enough really. And the home she picked is good for her family for ure. She did a good job for being a single mother.
Wondering how the homeowner is coping with commuting from Waldorf in Charles County, MD. Yes...that DC commute could get outrageous real quick. For comparison, my own commute during AM rush to and from Charles County (near Indian Head, MD, about 15 miles west of Waldorf and 12 miles west of La Plata) to DC (federal government building in SW near the U.S. Capitol) is up to 1 hour with little traffic, with commutes in moderate to heavy traffic lasting nearly 1.5 hours because of congestion, traffic incidents and detours. Many people in this area ride the coach commuter bus (usually about an hour minimum based on my experience) to reduce the cost and stress of driving to DC, since Charles County lacks local bus and rail transportation options. But, it's another story if that homeowner still has to commute between Waldorf, MD and Fort Belvoir in the south Alexandria section of Fairfax County, VA, which will require multiple public transportation modes to get to that far-out area. In this case, driving (or finding a carpool) to Fort Belvoir there will be the only viable option to get ahead of both early AM and PM traffic.
Definitely would have picked #2, it seems more little kid friendly and a safe established neighborhood. There's so much potential and that 15 minutes sounds like a dream. But I'm glad she got what she wanted and is excited. She has such a beautiful family.
House number 2 was Better I Feel she thought more about herself than her kids in the long run . Kids grow fast and I can see her buying another home soon .
The kids will move out eventually. She will be living there the longest out of everyone. I feel like a townhome will be lower maintenance in the long run for her when she gets old. (If she stays in there that long )
I thought it was a crazy decision to choose a townhome over a big nice home like number 3. You have to many young kids to be in a townhouse connected to other people. Crazy crazy crazy
Number 2 gave her 100K in options, a 15 min commute, was already updated, had all the stainless steel and hardwood floors, 5 Bedrooms, and a finished basement. PS They should have really showed the School District Performance and Crime Stats, I mean those are the most important factors when kids are involved. Safety and Education above all.
There is nothing wrong with picking something smaller or something that fit her and her family. It fits he and her family well. And there is no point going broke with something bigger and more out of her money rang. She is not crazy at all. A lot of people who have children live in condo\s or townhouses
Well she picked a good place for her and her family. There is nothing wrong with it. And your never safe no matter how safe of a area you are in or how your in a safty area. Anything could happen. Crime can happen anytime.
She's a very hard working mum, who trying her very best to making all her children's happy and well educated! Great mum!🙏💞🌅☀️ (i really don't understand all that people whom wanted to choose house number 2, which is so old and even from screen have a very bad atmosphere!? Already to many different kind of energy has lived there!! If is me, I'll chose hose number 3, but house number 1 is also great chose! All the best to them!🙏💞🌅☀️🥰
Some people buy what they want others buy what they need....she wanted that en suite so bad she’s willing to drive 40min without traffic and make her sons share a room🤷🏾♀️ I’m guessing eventually the will turn the basement into a bedroom
At the end of the she has to be satisfied with her decision so if the longer commute is worth it to her then that's all that counts. She choose a beautiful home and she and her children look very happy. Congrats to her!
The house #2 could have been thousand opportunities home, where you would have needed to fix a pipe or another, fix this and that...everything breaks all the damn time. So that's why I would have picked the first one too..it's small but still a new house.
I think David chose 3 lovely homes. I live in the Caribbean with sunshine all year and our commute from work to home is never more than 25 minutes. So for me with 3 sons my home would have been #3. But TO EACH HIS OWN. So if house #1 makes she and the children happy, i'm happy.
I think some of her expectations were unrealistic considering she had 3 kids. Yes, we want shiny, new everything but those boys will tear it up in a heartbeat. Her loud obnoxious friend was right with suggesting that she get a starter home then when the boys are older she can upgrade to her dream home.
I do wish she tried for house number three and put in an offer at, like, 340. You know, just to see if they would accept. That way, if they did, she could use the spare money to update those appliances. But if she didn't want it, she didn't want it. I don't like stairs or long commutes so I would neeeever have picked *spoilers* house number 1. That being said, it is still a really nice house and I love Waldorf. I hope you enjoy it ma'am.
I like house #2 I think you could have turned the basement into a master suite and the kids could have had the 3 bedrooms and bathroom upstairs.... however I love what you did with the home you did pick
After watching this episode, I realize that you are a lot like me. Very picky because you want the right home. I have been to several homes and there were many pros and cons but you want what you want and why shouldn't you have what you want when you work hard. Great choose though with this house, it motivates me to keep looking until I find the right home for me and my family.
What's a be'-room or as some say, bet-room? Apart from that, she's amazing. Her kids are so lucky. She is a wonderful inspiration for them. Long commute but it's a great home and manageable for her lifestyle. Beautiful home.
I would have gone for the second house. Had a better location than the first, was cheaper and you could renovate and add your taste, had more privacy than the townhouse, and had 5 bedrooms.
She is approved up to 350k so he should have never shown her a home for 369k. It is irresponsible to encourage a client to spend the max they are approved for. It is absolutely unethical to suggest going OVER their APPROVED amount. That is a recipe for being house poor and foreclosed upon. I am so glad she didn't go for that.
Very difficult to find older seasons of House Hunters, I've recently started watching again. I'm kinda debating between a west coast state and a midwest state for my children and I to plant our roots. I personally would not purchase a shared wall home, especially with children. I guessed house #2. It is a cute place, but IdK about working before work with that commute... I notice alot of newer build homes appear generic and boring to me, I prefer some uniqueness and charm. Thank You!
Waldorf, MD to Virginia is not a 40 minute commute... it’s more like 1 hr 15 mins EACH way in traffic. She wanted new but that commute gets old real quick. Hopefully she has a flex schedule.
Appliances, floors and carpets can be changed. Location can't. She should go for the 3rd and offer 350k. The older home may not have a HOA fee. Which is wonderful in the long run, but hopefully she won't stay longer than 5-7 years.
if the person who is buying the house likes it it is ok with me and i like her colour taste we don't always have to pick neutral colours it blends the way she likes it so if she is happy in her new home i am happy for her like her girls room too
I would have choose house #2. But I do understand; when you want New, you want a Brand New House. That must have been her top priority along with a new kitchen and master suite. When you work hard and have a long commute, you need to relax in a luxury suite.
Over twenty minutes each way travel time quickly gets old & wearisome. I have my idea of which dwelling she had already chosen. Let's see if I am right! LOL I was! I believe her choice to be a poor one. Just too much travel time &, thus, more minutes to her work-a-day & more time away from the kids.
Some of these people amaze me....he wants a colonial home, but she wants a ranch because she grew up in one and loves closeness, but wants a huge master...?she hates the colors or rugs...she demands panty, a walk in type..he wants open concept....she does not etc. Just get a divorce!
Kids running and screaming, her attached neighbors will hate her and right they should be, noone wants to hear running and loud kids banging on the walls and running outside. She should've chosen any other house
Good Choice she got what was best for her & her family... she should have left her friend home though she had to much of an opinion on something she's not spending a dime on😩👊 #Bihhhhgohome
Lol this is so staged, one of my friends was just on it and for her "family" they brought in a bunch of actors(she's 16) and they already bought the house beforehand, this show is completely fake and staged
She is a wonderful, independent women who is serving her country well. All the best. I have deep respect for all soldiers in Western world regardless of their gender, skin color or ethnic background.
THANK YOU BOTH for your service!!!! Glad your happy!!!
What an inspiring, independent woman! Nice house, and the kids have probably made lots of friends with neighbours. I love the part where she says "you look hungry", and her son replies "you look happy!". Beautiful!!!
brigs she said you look so sweet

This realtor is the cutest. You just want to give him a hug. :)
Congratulations! You all look happy and that's all that matters.
Rashida..."bump the tub, look at the room!!" They are too funny and fun! And those babies are so cute!
any parent would be proud of any home for there family ! She has the option to pay for what was important to her for her family! To each their own!!! Very nice home !
Yesssss!
Ok. I would have gone for House 2-- 5 bedrooms, under budget, quality renovations and (biggest point for me) only 15 minute commute!
I think she should've gotten house 2. For that price she could've combined 2 rooms to make a master bedroom, add an on-suite, and done landscaping with money left over. Not to mention a great location.

15 mins commute from work; it was the better deal.
I totally agree with you. the new house she bought is costing her an hour to an hour and a half commuting time. every day, which is time she could have spent with her kids. I think she will regret her choice.
I haven't even watched the episode but I already see I need Rashida to come help me with my everyday life decisions-lol!!!!!😂
The kids are always intertwined because the space is tight sis lol
I would never, ever pick a townhouse with a 40 minute (with no traffic) commute over a bigger single family home with a 15 minute commute that costs over $40K less. David picked out some very good houses for you guys to see. The house you picked is very nice, and I love the colors on the walls.
+Nesha Britwood thank you =) we are still enjoying it!
These two women act just like my best friend and I, this was a great episode, thanks for posting!
Shot out to DMV. I'm from PG County. It was cool seeing the familiar places.
crossvizion I know what. neighborhood she lives in 😂 i live in waldorf and i recognize it
Traffic in the DMV can be very stressful.
And that's putting it VERY mildly
Wow nice home 👍🏾👍🏾💯
Who cares if people lived in the house before? Unless you're having you new build built to your design and specifications, it really doesn't matter. Anyway, I knew she'd buy the apartment. She bought that kitchen and en suite. Understandable, I guess, but give me a free standing home any day of the week.
And that commute will get old real quick.
I think if people lived in it it would be haunted in her opinion
Beautiful family. Successful mom. I luv it. The kids are so adorable.
I actually like #2 but the lack of bathroom in the Master suite sucked😞but she had more than enough money left to renovate💁
She picked the wrong house. She didn't consider the cost of Housing Association living in a townhouse. The colors she chose for walls...no no. She should have chosen the house 15 minutes from her job.
Right, right and right!! 😊.. And not to mention gas for that long commute. Not smart
@@welcometotheblock6781The gas is high plus I guess she would have to pay more for daycare with that long commute. Her kids are small.
Some people looking for a show home to impress friends. She could have fixed up the ranch and sell it at a higher price few yrs later.
"It took us like 40 minutes to get out here"
"and that's not bad"
hell nawww. That is a long ass commute!!
Ehh it’s not too bad. My job is 40min-1.5 hours depending on traffic and it doesn’t feel long. But she will dread those frequent gas station trips
That really isn’t bad at all for the DMV. I’m in Northern Virginia and hope for only a 30 minute commute most days.
I knew she was going to pick the first home. lol me personally I would have gotten the second home. But glad she is happy with her choice, that's all that matters.
Nice home that you picked and you have it decorated very nice.
That makes a big difference
i like the 3rd house,👏👏👏👍💋🤗❤️😇
Hey guys! I really like your house! I'm going to college next year for interior design, and I wish you luck in your house!
Number 2 would have been much better for a family and it was under budget!
+T Ritchie No parent is going to pick a house with tiny bedrooms and no master over a nice new construction with a master. She made the right decision from the looks of it and it's the one I would've picked as well. :)

Good Pick...I live in the DMV as well.
Definitely would have picked #2, it seems more little kid friendly and a safe established neighborhood. There's so much potential and that 15 minutes sounds like a dream. But I'm glad she got what she wanted and is excited. She has such a beautiful family.
💯💯💯💯

Oh no...she slept on the older home. It was so beautiful. But im bias, i love love love the stability of an older home.
But Congrats!
#2 a good choice to get on property ladder towards your dream home!!!
I thought it was a crazy decision to choose a townhome over a big nice home like number 3. You have to many young kids to be in a townhouse connected to other people. Crazy crazy crazy
Home was out of budget, but thank you for your opinion, we love our home :)
Number 2 gave her 100K in options, a 15 min commute, was already updated, had all the stainless steel and hardwood floors, 5 Bedrooms, and a finished basement.

3 kids in a townhouse? I bet the neighbors LOVE that!

she picked at great house for her and her kids I love how honest her friend was with her opinion
+htowngurl17 Rasheedah is very honest, and I truly value her opinion.
Good to have a friend you can trust for advice like this! Thanks to you both for your service.
They look like biological Sisters.
very cute episode luv the friendship
LOL I love her friend!
Some people buy what they want others buy what they need....she wanted that en suite so bad she’s willing to drive 40min without traffic and make her sons share a room🤷🏾♀️ I’m guessing eventually the will turn the basement into a bedroom
Her friend and her look alike. Glad she got what she desired. Afterall she paid for it. Best wishes to you and your family.
At the end of the she has to be satisfied with her decision so if the longer commute is worth it to her then that's all that counts. She choose a beautiful home and she and her children look very happy. Congrats to her!

I think that was the real issue. She is a single mother and probably doesn't want to be stuck making (or paying) for a lot of repairs
New / cheap construction.

I am glad she picked #1 , although the commute was longer, but she did not seem to mine.
The friend had me cracking up. 😁
How do you pass up a 15 min commute?
I like house #2 I think you could have turned the basement into a master suite and the kids could have had the 3 bedrooms and bathroom upstairs.... however I love what you did with the home you did pick
I'm glad she chose the house she wanted and not what someone else wanted her to have...
After watching this episode, I realize that you are a lot like me. Very picky because you want the right home. how have the dark floors been to keep clean? I'm deciding weather or not to have them...
The 5 bedroom was the best buy

She could have saved/planned for future college funds, and at present, spending more time at home with all of those kids.
WOOP WOOP! DMV yes! #Househunting here is kinda tough..but military personnel do better here than nongovernment
Love her choice of colours. I'd hate the commute but if it works for her and her babies. If she wasn't happy she'd be an unhappy mum.
if the person who is buying the house likes it it is ok with me and i like her colour taste we don't always have to pick neutral colours it blends the way she likes it so if she is happy in her new home i am happy for her like her girls room too
...bump the tub... lol
I know they driving that man nuts.. I bet he be glad when they sign so he can move on.
Her priorities are bells n whistles
that much money for imitation. yikes! housing is ridiculous in this country.
I would have choose house #2. But I do understand; when you want New, you want a Brand New House. That must have been her top priority along with a new kitchen and master suite. When you work hard and have a long commute, you need to relax in a luxury suite.
I want filet mignon on a hamburger budget
Over twenty minutes each way travel time quickly gets old & wearisome. I have my idea of which dwelling she had already chosen. Let's see if I am right! LOL I was! I believe her choice to be a poor one. Just too much travel time &, thus, more minutes to her work-a-day & more time away from the kids.
No..Empty room s look larger
good choice for her.
Dear goodness, ppl on House Hunters in general are too satisfied with the phrases “granite countertops” and “stainless steel appliances”.
And should have driven the 2 way commute in rush hour before signing!
Watching this in 2018 lol
come to know Jesus
She's dreaming unrealistically.
Some of these people amaze me....he wants a colonial home, but she wants a ranch because she grew up in one and loves closeness, but wants a huge master...?she hates the colors or rugs...she demands panty, a walk in type..he wants open concept....she does not etc. Just get a divorce!
I agree she should have got the second house
The end was cut off the first show, we don't know what they picked!
Hapy shes happy but #3 was best for 3 kids.
Rahsheeda is the real MVP!
Is there anyont who does not say "open concept" and we need to entertain.m Come on, stop being followers.
Yes lol. All the housing shows people say that. As long as I have a sewing room I'm good
good one!
that commute is going to get old fast....
She hustling backwards
U go girl
Good choice!
I'd pick number 2 if it were me
You need a good friend like that when you're look for a house ..so you won't make s desperate move
Lol this is so staged, one of my friends was just on it and for her "family" they brought in a bunch of actors(she's 16) and they already bought the house beforehand, this show is completely fake and staged
Thanks for watching :)
cant she make that reck room a bed room .
