I would have gone for the second house. Had a better location than the first, was cheaper and you could renovate and add your taste, had more privacy than the townhouse, and had 5 bedrooms.

I remember me and my grandmother watching this and it was the one of the things we got along trying to see what house they would choose and if I won I got ice cream I'm so grateful for this show she passed away 5 years ago and rewatching made me so grateful for the time we did and this includes watching this show at 6pm ❤

Waldorf, MD to Virginia is not a 40 minute commute... it’s more like 1 hr 15 mins EACH way in traffic. She wanted new but that commute gets old real quick. Hopefully she has a flex schedule.

I think David chose 3 lovely homes. I live in the Caribbean with sunshine all year and our commute from work to home is never more than 25 minutes. So for me with 3 sons my home would have been #3. But TO EACH HIS OWN. So if house #1 makes she and the children happy, i'm happy.

Appliances, floors and carpets can be changed. Location can't. She should go for the 3rd and offer 350k. The older home may not have a HOA fee. Which is wonderful in the long run, but hopefully she won't stay longer than 5-7 years.

At the end of the she has to be satisfied with her decision so if the longer commute is worth it to her then that's all that counts. She choose a beautiful home and she and her children look very happy. Congrats to her!

What's a be'-room or as some say, bet-room? Apart from that, she's amazing. Her kids are so lucky. She is a wonderful inspiration for them. Long commute but it's a great home and manageable for her lifestyle. Beautiful home.

Wondering how the homeowner is coping with commuting from Waldorf in Charles County, MD. Yes...that DC commute could get outrageous real quick. For comparison, my own commute during AM rush to and from Charles County (near Indian Head, MD, about 15 miles west of Waldorf and 12 miles west of La Plata) to DC (federal government building in SW near the U.S. Capitol) is up to 1 hour with little traffic, with commutes in moderate to heavy traffic lasting nearly 1.5 hours because of congestion, traffic incidents and detours. Many people in this area ride the coach commuter bus (usually about an hour minimum based on my experience) to reduce the cost and stress of driving to DC, since Charles County lacks local bus and rail transportation options. But, it's another story if that homeowner still has to commute between Waldorf, MD and Fort Belvoir in the south Alexandria section of Fairfax County, VA, which will require multiple public transportation modes to get to that far-out area. In this case, driving (or finding a carpool) to Fort Belvoir there will be the only viable option to get ahead of both early AM and PM traffic.

What is the deal with black women and new, granite and stainless steel? There so many stone materials to select from, there are many materials to chose from where appliances concerned??? New vs old/renovated Why can't you just go in and see a place then come out with your grips, unless there are allergies concerned, be open. You have kids, you'd rather spend 21 days out of the year commuting rather than being closer to home over a bathroom that could be added?

if the person who is buying the house likes it it is ok with me and i like her colour taste we don't always have to pick neutral colours it blends the way she likes it so if she is happy in her new home i am happy for her like her girls room too
