Dang, I was super nervous to make mine, until I watched some tutorials and fiddled with one in a creative test world. After some poking and prodding, I realize it's actually quite simple: once it's activated, all you need to do is make sure that the power you're putting in is enough to keep the Field Strength above 1% (higher percentage if you want the buffer), and that the power you're taking out isn't enough to push the temperature beyond 8000. I started mine by inputting 140,000 RF/t while outputting 500,000. Assuming you have sufficient backlogged power to start the sucker up, these are safe numbers to let it settle at. Once your output (how much power you're extracting from the flux gate connected to the Stabilizer) matches the Generation Rate, the temperature will decrease, and the Field Strength will increase. If you're Field Strength is dropping and you're worried it'll go too low, add a little bit to the input (the flux gate connected to the Injector). If your Field Strength is too high, or the temperature is too low, then increase the amount of power you're pulling from it (typically, it's smarter/safer to make this adjustment by pulling more power from it rather than lowering the input, as lowering the input will only make the Field Strength drop, while increasing the output increases the temperature. This will still lower your Field Strength, but at a significantly lower rate). BE PATIENT. Wait for the temperature to start decreasing again before adjusting. In conclusion, my second sentence once again: All you need to do is make sure that the power you're putting in is enough to keep the Field Strength above 1% (higher percentage if you want more than a 1% buffer, which I recommend, just to be safe lol), and that the power you're taking out isn't enough to push the temperature beyond 8000. Message me if you have any questions; I think I've got a pretty good grasp of how these guys work, and I understand the hesitation to build it, but once you've got one stable, it's such a satisfying achievement! And, my goodness, does it crank out some power. As of this moment, I'm extracting 590,000 RF/t, I'm inputting 140,000 RF/t, Temperature is at about 7,900 (when the temp stops rising here I will increase my output to 595,000 RF/t) Field Strength is just under 14%, Energy Saturation is about 12%, and my Fuel Conversion level is at 1.82% (I'm using 8 blocks of Awakened Draconium).

Safe numbers to start at are: inputting 100,000 to 140,000 while outputting 400,000 to 500,000. When making adjustments to power demand (how much you're pulling from the reactor per tick), smaller numbers are better to start to get the feel for how this baby purrs. 1,000 to 10,000RF/t adjustments are typically safe, so long as your temperature is below 7,000. How much RF are you putting in and pulling out?
The Brandylion my first attempt I just kinda modified things as I went along, In the end I killed the reactor because temperature stayed way to low. On my second attempt I did 140k input 500k output but temperature raised to high

The higher your input, the safer it will be (input is giving the field strength... well, strength), the lower your output, the colder it will be (output determines temperature; if you try to output more than it's currently generating, it will say "they want more power from me that I'm not making, let me increase my temperature so I start producing more power. Once I reach the output that's being demanded of me, I'll be happy" and it will start to cool again). Once it's cooled down to around 7,000, increase the power demand by around 10K and the temp will increase again until it reaches the demand.
Doing this over and over, you'll rarely have to adjust your input, and you'll slowly start beefing it up. Eventually you can have this thing pumping out RF in the millions, but keep in mind that it's a slow process, and you must be patient. Being hasty puts you at risk of making too big of an adjustment that blows it up.

what do i do to make sure saturation doesn't go too high? i had a stable (not really) reactor, and then BOOM, its gone, im gone, and the poor village next to me was gone.

A great way to stop a meltdown is with applied energistics 2, the spacial IO port is able to collect a reactor mid meltdown and safety store it just remember to grab the valuable blocks before storing the reactor

This version is available to download now (snapshot 5) There will not be a way to cool the reactor. You cant exactly just throw a bucket of water on a massive fusion reaction to cool it down. The chaos shards are located at the center of the chaos islands. But be warned the chaos islands have been completely re designed and the guardian is nolonger so easy to defeat. I will be releasing a video about the new islands some time over the next couple of days.

Hm... Seems like it would be very easy to exploit the fact that this thing works on a comparitor. You could quite easily make a kamikaze reactor that shuts down moments before explosion, thus quickly creating a practically infinite amount of power in seconds. (after getting the thing running in of course)

not really, it seems that the reactor blast functions in almost the same way as the Ender Dragon's ability to phase through everything. Anything that is blast resistant and would not be destroyed will remain, but the wave of destruction still passes through and continues on. This is completely intentional and the guide tablet says just as much.

+cyril laville to be fair a max size big reactor will produce 1.5Mrf/t with out the risk of an explosion and then well i'm not sure about steam production which would greatly increase the amount of power produced

cyril laville true big reactors does get boring after awhile because it basically the only end game option that worth it if you need 40k rf/t+ so other options are welcome

I have a problem with placing the infuser... it always want to be placed pointing vertically ... that sux... sometimes the reactor wont charge even if all components are placed correctly so you are forced to replace the infuser and than the sphere of the reactor is in your way ... the infuser can only placed pointing upwards if you are realy directly above the block you want to place it at... if you are 2-3 blocks beside (because of the alreaady existing reactor sphere) it will always placed pointing vertically an so you need to replace all components of the reactor is there a way to place the infuser so that it points in the direction i want it to point ?
what is the fuel conversion level? do i have to wait till it is full? because i have the output at 400,000 and the input at 100,000 but the generation rate and the field input rate is alway both 100,000
What happens if the reactor begins melting down but then it burns out the last of its fuel before it explodes, does it just puff out or does it still explode?

How did you change the comparator mode on the Energy Injector, I can't get mine to do that. You didn't explain how you did it but it looks like you shift+right-clicked on it with an open hand but that doesn't work for me.
Why my draconic reactor will not charge? i placed my cable like you under the charger and the complete setup is like ur's. i tested from energy cell to energy cell via fluxgate, that works. but it wont charge . cable to cable is working. but with the redstonesignal it wont work i think.

Enough to overwhelm a big reactor's output and just barely enough to edge out a 64-core fission reactor from ReactorCraft. The Fusion Reactor from ReactorCraft is still the best by far.

Sounds like ether the injector is not getting power or is not connected to the core. To make sure its connected to the core right click it and see if the core gui opens. If its not then just break and replace the injector. (Make sure there are no blocks between the core and injector when you do so)
I have replaced my injector 2 times and no gui, and I have cryotubes leading from my storage to the fluxgate which leads into the injector. still not sure what the issue is.

Do you ever need to refuel (with awakened draconium) the Reactor? If so, how do I know that it's time to refuel? And what happens if you don't refuel?

+cyril laville to be fair a max size big reactor will produce 1.5Mrf/t with out the risk of an explosion and then well i'm not sure about steam production which would greatly increase the amount of power produced

true big reactors does get boring after awhile because it basically the only end game option that worth it if you need 40k rf/t+ so other options are welcome

true this i hate doing super overly complicated things although in my last world i set up 24 big reactor turbines from one big reactor that produced about 100k rf but when i hooked up the turbines i was getting close to 500k rf/t
I have a problem with placing the infuser... it always want to be placed pointing vertically ... that sux... sometimes the reactor wont charge even if all components are placed correctly so you are forced to replace the infuser and than the sphere of the reactor is in your way ... the infuser can only placed pointing upwards if you are realy directly above the block you want to place it at... if you are 2-3 blocks beside (because of the alreaady existing reactor sphere) it will always placed pointing vertically an so you need to replace all components of the reactor is there a way to place the infuser so that it points in the direction i want it to point ?

what is the fuel conversion level? do i have to wait till it is full? because i have the output at 400,000 and the input at 100,000 but the generation rate and the field input rate is alway both 100,000

I have some of the same settings you have but my reactors core temp just drops to zero and stops producing energy. Any idea what is happening?

How did you change the comparator mode on the Energy Injector, I can't get mine to do that. You didn't explain how you did it but it looks like you shift+right-clicked on it with an open hand but that doesn't work for me.
Why my draconic reactor will not charge? i placed my cable like you under the charger and the complete setup is like ur's. i tested from energy cell to energy cell via fluxgate, that works. but it wont charge . cable to cable is working. but with the redstonesignal it wont work i think.

I can't stabilize the reactor. I followed everything here, but saturation and containment field just won't stabilize no matter how much I tweak them.

great job on video managed to make mine without comparitors and still works just need to watch flow very carefully with the gates. could you possibly make a vid on how to do the vertical one? comparitors dont seem to work on walls.
I kinda want a secondary stabilizer to convert the Chaos Dissapation Reactor (CDpR) into a High Temputure Gas Chaos Reactor (HTGCR) sort of in the same vein as a HTGR, if you get all of my acronyms.

You know what? You can make your base all from stabilizer and do with reactor what you want, and your base will be protected from these
the flux gates dont seem to work in the snapshot 9 and there is no positive net gain and isnt even self sustaining.

If I encased the reactor core in blast proof blocks like Reinforced Obsidian from Ender IO of Wither-proof Blocks from Magical Crops with the reactor stabilizers in the walls, would it contain the blast?
Don't bother. While the Reinforced Obsidian or whatever will stay, the explosion will just cut through the blocks as if they were air.
BFI I tried the Wither-Proof Blocks from Magical Crops and they actually protected me.

Enough to overwhelm a big reactor's output and just barely enough to edge out a 64-core fission reactor from ReactorCraft. The Fusion Reactor from ReactorCraft is still the best by far.
+Humaric Anishtan Apart from the 3-month necro, do you have some hard numbers? For reference, a Reactorcraft HP turbine attached to the turbine generator can output 3-4 billion RF/t.

Sounds like ether the injector is not getting power or is not connected to the core. To make sure its connected to the core right click it and see if the core gui opens. If its not then just break and replace the injector. (Make sure there are no blocks between the core and injector when you do so)

I have replaced my injector 2 times and no gui, and I have cryotubes leading from my storage to the fluxgate which leads into the injector. still not sure what the issue is.
