Visited Vector Air Arms this morning, luckily Andy was in the shop who showed my better all the choices including the Reign. She liked it the moment she picked it up. Bought it home and this afternoon she was getting 10mm groupings whilst in the garden. Thanks Andy plus all the staff who helped us this morning. Great friendly service indeed.
Excellent. Have fun, great to meet you both . stay safe
I like the shrouded air bottle. I wish more manufacturers would make some attempt to cover the plumbing. It's a pet peeve of mine, even on springers, when the stock is just a couple of inches short and you see the cocking lever pivot exposed. My only gripe with this looks wise is that I'm not a fan of the free floating picattiny rail at the front. If that was anchored, I think this would look much better.
Well said! Some guns look more like fire extinguishers.
Walther do make the most gorgeous looking products.
Funny you say this is overlooked. I'm not "That" into air guns (just own an Umarex Glock pistol and an old Diana off my Grandad) but this has always been the air rifle I would want. To me it doesn't look weird - it looks cool. :)
Perfect for hunting so light
Must say your presentation is far superior than others trying to do the same thing.
As a lefty, I have been keeping an eye out for a left-handed bullpup. Appreciate you covering that part off. Held off on the Reign v1 as I need silence and the former moderator replacement looked like more work than I wanted to get into, very excited for this one and it's easy moderator replacement. Thanks for posting.
I've got the mark 1 and still like it, alot
I was about to go get one but now I know to get the gen 2 version . Thanks Andy
usually i really dont like bull pups, but this one looks really good.
Just bought one these from vector air . The bolt lever was what sold it to me so smooth and effortless .
Hey Andy, greetings from Spain!
Maybe it's not for the majority of your audience but I've been struggling with myopia since a child (Lasix made my vision better but not perfect) and since in into the 40's now i have problems when looking close small objects.
Maybe can you make a video about eye sight, it's problems and how to adapt to them.
Not only for your less than young people but for myopia guys (at 15 years old I was wearing thick glasses and didn' see anything without them). Just an idea.
these are $599 here in the US, nice value at that price
Where’re you finding the M2 in the US? I’d like to get one, but I don’t see it anywhere.
It was great to see you at V.A. today and thank you for taking the time out from your very busy day to speak to me. After all my talk of the M8 I may now have to up my budget just a tad and opt for the Reign M2.
The best laid plans of mice and men, eh ?
😂
Nice little bull pup Andy, my first rifle was a Walter RM8 which was super accurate, it’s a shame they don’t produce with a wooden stock though.
hi Andy me been watching your channel now skink love your show and bank manger loves you too all the best to you and mrs aar petebp
Taking delivery of one of these this weekend. Looking forward to trying it.
How are you finding it I am waiting on mine now?
@@jimmyfaz8268 good so far. Going to a proper range today.
I have the Mk1 really happy with its performance
Lv the channel so keep it up n coming Andy!! Lv this rifle!!
Andy you Should include accuracy with lead free ammo as we are all going to suffer the Bull or should I say Bill ocks
Best thing to do is contact BASC who will give you the best info.
Yes please. Not sure if it makes sense purchasing anything that can't take lead free ammo at this point.
@@5Komma5 i dont think it matters with most air rifles, i shoot aluminum and lead pellets thru my FX wildcat, Impact and HW44 and they all do just fine with both types
@@Sleepy.Time.
Springs especially can perform badly with pellets outside their weight range and can be very harsh with lightweight pellets without special tuning as it is like a partial Dry Fire.
Also they can often measure very weak in any gun that has to be set up under a set power limit such as the UK sube 12ft/lb license exempt limit.
@@Marcus_Shaw I do have some springers but honestly ive never loaded any alloy pellets in one, they do fly about a good bit in a breeze ive noticed..much more so then the JSB jumbos i otherwise shoot
Nice looking ratter that. I may have to have a look at the .22, about the same size as a HW100 bp K but only two-thirds of the price. Great review as usual Andy, always a highlight of my Friday breakfast.
Mine gets delivered next week, looking forward to that day👍
Good review! I own the Mk 1 and love this little bullpup. Extremely light, smooth and accurate always. I attached the tactical shoulder sling so that you can walk around hands free if you want to.
I have the Mk 1 too and love it, so light to hold and use, fantastic little rifle. Where did you get the sling from? I have been thinking of getting one but can't find a suitable one here in Cornwall.
@@timthehippy9478 I ordered it from Kotte & Zeller.
Really like Walther, great quality, reliable and accurate. My trusty RM8 is still my favourite go to but I also like the look of this. I'm a fan of the material used in the stock and I like the black tactical styling. Well done Walther and another great review Andy!
Beautiful looking rifle, think i want one...
I have the original Reign and it's brilliant. Think I would rather keep mine then upgrade 🤔
Love it, i'll buy one as soon as they are available in the states.
Good to get a view of the internals and be able to appreciate engineering touches like that counterbalance weight.
Andy your like a big kid in a sweet shop. Enjoyed this one mate 😀😀
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for pointing out that it can be used by those of us that are left-handed.
😎😎😎😎😎😎
I have switched mine over. You can switch the cocking lever AND the SAFETY. Mine popped out when I dismantled it so I checked it out to see if it could be switched, and yes. Watch out for the little spring though. I hadn’t found any videos about it so I was quite happy. Otherwise it would have been a bit of a pain reaching over.
Love my Reign UXT in .22.... Total tackdriver. Does well with 24gr slugs, H&N Barracuda, JSB Heavy, and more. I shoot it daily! Love the MkII's threaded barrel!! A DonnyFL Sumo would be awesome on there! The regulator is new isn't it? What is the regulator PSI? My Mk I starts to fall off in power after about 60 rounds or so. My only wish would be for some externally accessible power adjustment controls, because I'm ready for the .25cal, but would rather not punish my backstop daily. My lumber bill would be unreal, as my .22 is popping fat exit holes in 1/4" OSB at 40m!! Great review, sir! Wish you could try out the USA versions for review, as you do a fantastically thorough job going over the pieces' ins & outs. Cheers!
Nice! Thanks Andy!
I used to buy all the Airgun magazines...45 years ago.
I used to get very "wound up" as a young man reading all about shooting squirrels, rats, birds, rabbits, etc.
But now, as a 61 year old man, I regret it bitterly.
I loved the "hunt", and the silent tracking of quarry...
The technicalities, and craftsmanship of my guns (Weirauch HW35 Export, Theobald, etc)...
The challenge of target-hitting...
But I deeply regret the taking of life.
Just for..."sport".
As my mortality gets ever more vivid, and my own fragility becomes ever obvious to me, as the years go by, I think...
"What RIGHT...did I HAVE ...
...to take the life of another sentient being?"
Answer: None.
I had NO right.
Please think about that before storming off into the dark Woods, gun in hand, as I once did, as a young and foolish man 😥😔
Same here, I can see the need to keep Rats and the like controlled, but yes as i get older i do think, what harm do Rabbits and wood pigeons really do?,,it't mankind that will kill this planet
biblically speaking God Said “Have dominion over all the animals.” which entails doing as we please…but. ask yourself what God would do and then just copy that. But it’s funny how the old testament allowed even required sacrifices to He himself. weird.
@@MrCbell57 All religion is nonsense.
I have owned air guns since I was 10, I. 32 now, and of course the temptation of hunting has been there. I did as a teenager stupidly fire at a flock of flying geese but I'm almost certain I didn't hit any of them with my single shot Gamo CFX, none of them altered their flight path or fell.
But other than a couple of tiny mice in the kitchen I have never shot anything else, and even then I felt abit mean. But it did stop the mice for a while and the humane trap we had was worse because we forgot about it and a poor mouse starved to death. I think unless the animal in question is genuinely causing a problem that cannot be dealt with in a better way or you are genuinely going to eat it or even make pet food from it, then yes, just leave it alone. Targets are fun enough, especially exploding or spinning ones.
rats are vermin and do huge damage to a farm.
Not sure about that plastic but you can't argue with that accuracy at 40 metres wow
Great video as always, many thanks,
Joe
Awesome review as always Andy
This is one bad little boy, still picking my jaw up from the desk with regards to the accuracy....
I bought a new M2.
Pros - light, short, accurate to the distances I'm happy shooting at, no issues with pellets or magazines.
Cons leaked air from day one. It went back to the wholesaler to be fixed under warranty. It was returned 8 weeks, yes, 8 weeks later and still leaked air. I'm talking 220bar to 0 in 2 weeks without being used. It's going back again and I don't want it back. I don't have a lot of free time to shoot and opening the bag to use it and seeing it empty again got really frustrating. It's a shame as I have an RM8 from Walther and it has no such issues.
Nice little compact rifle Andy, and very accurate.Great review.
Keep them coming.
Atvb👍🏻👍🏻
Just bought one and its nice!
I love my mk 1. ;)
The reign 1 or 2 is on my list excellent review Andy thanks 👍🏻
Nice!
🤔…. just wondering how the MPI would be affected by the odd earlobe in the load profile? 😁
Brilliant Andy
What an awesome review!
I didn't even know a mk2 of the Reign was coming out. But I absolutely fell already for the mk1 back when I first saw it (a bit before it's release). It looks as if H.R. Giger woulda redesigned the pulse rifle from the movie Aliens. I absolutely adore the looks of it. And it even performs, despite the peculiar odd design of a plastic clamshell filled with airgun parts..😂 But that is also probably why many been pushed away from it. I kinda can understand that. Over here it cost around €900. And to pay that much for parts threwn into a seemingly cheap plastic casing (despite even actually being quality polymer designed to last) with large holes where the screws/bolts go thru...No wonder many choose another rifle over it..
But I like this very much. A nice (and black!) magazine that does not stick far out. Picatinnys at the right places. Seemingly nice ergonomics.. I definitely do not see a reason not to like it.
Great show today . The rifle is a super all rounder. Maybe 🤔 you can get a used one ! . Did you sort your cronie out ! Take care … cheers 🍻 Simon
Hey how are you on this Saturday ? I've just bought the Wells fargo cowboy 🤠 rifle. It's going great 👍 pushing 7ft lbs ! ... HOWS the crono situation ? 🤔 take care Si 🙂 England 🇬🇧
@@simonnoble7589 Checked that Wells Fargo air rifle.. Walther Lever Action, with a 8rd rotary mag? That's the one I'd buy if I'd gonna buy a lever action cowboy rifle. I got sooo quickly bored loading the cartridges on my Remington 1875...🤣 Although - I do love that revolver. And I ain't no revolver fan. I would like the Gamo PR-776 though. Two rotary clips into a large cylinder. And a fully adjustable modern rear sight. Pretty damn neat.
@@brorjordas1979 That all sounds fantastic…. Yes 2 x 8 round mag . It’s great 👍🏻 going back to open sights ! Just need me some bunnies 🐰 I hope they don’t move much lol 😂 😎
@@simonnoble7589 Yea. Those cartridge loading lever actions are cool, realistic and all - but I prefer the 8rd rotary mag system. Got plenty of them Walther mags from before because of many Walther/UX airpistols.
Wish Walther made the RM8 UC with a wooden stock !!
i am a pcp junkie!!!!!!
and im more into the high FPE guns
but i really like the looks of this gun
i dont care for plinkers or strictly rat killers....
but i have thought twice about buying this gun.
B&W s45 still waiting...
then the zues 72 cal ..
then ill have all the heavy hitters.
Nice to turn up at a FT meet and do well with this little pup , Wonder what Ft scopes would fit nice for standing shots .
Good honest review 👏
I had a go with one of these at RAG on its indoor ranges and honestly loved it.
May actually get one of these.
Nice 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Good hunter that 1. 👍
I love my Walther Reign in .22. I would like a .25 and would like to see this in .30 cal.
A better looker but still not easy on the eye. Shame you cannot detach the cylinder cover. Looks great for close vermin use around a farm.
I’ve had the mk1 version for some time now and it’s a brilliant little gun. I’ve got a Wildcat FAC, the new Brocock XR Ranger, the Dreamline light and the AA tdr and if I had to let one of them go it wouldn’t be the Walther Reign. It’s my go to gun if I want to take a quick walk over the farm - it’s beautifully simple in operation and just does the job. If I had to start again this would be my first purchase.
As for the ban on lead does anyone know if this would apply to copper coated ammo like H+N Power. A few years ago I had an R10 in FAC (177) that preferred these to almost anything else.
From what I can find they would be banned too.
ive also had great results with the H&N Power

Stuck between this and the gamo boxer 🤔
@@Airgunfunrich how long have you had it? Is it reliable any problems at all?
@@Airgunfunrich that’s a really nice gesture thank you😊 I would love to but I live in liverpool, what scope do you use?
Great review as always Andy but I can't help but think they've not done much to make this a worthy upgrade. The styling is the same, the accuracy is the same, shot count the same, fill capacity the same (I assume), pic rails are the same. I'm assuming that as it's a Walter then it has a Walther Lothar barrel?
It seems to be a pretty good choice for some great pest control, with it favouring a heavy pellet at very close to legal limit, before it tops out into the FAC realm. Personally I'd like to have seen the underside pic rail extended to twice the length at least, so you can mount a high power torch for some dusk/night work AND a bipod, or, a torch and a foregrip that pops out into a tripod arrangement, plus one or two short pic rails either side of the foregrip?
Don't get me wrong, it's a solid piece of kit, but somehow I just can't see or justify the reason for shelling out premium change for very little overall change.?
I'm hoping my new Mark II will turn up tomorrow. It will be my third! This bullpup is pure utility and, as you comment, somewhat overlooked. Among my other PCPs, including a well known Swedish brand, the REIGN is my turn to weapon of choice for all the reasons you mention. It is a great all-rounder.
15.5 joules in the UK but what about the Reign in Spain.
🤣🤣🤣
😂🤣👏👏👏
Good Stuff!!! - 👍
Morning Andy
Never been keen on the Reign personally, especially when it's almost twice the price of the RM8 which is just as accurate and gets as many shots. Yeah I know the Reign is lighter, though not by much 0.6kg. I think the only thing I like better with it is the cocking lever, but again not for nearly twice the price.
thanks that leaves more for me.
Matt. I agree. I have the RM8 UC and can’t justify the price for this. Another £400 and I can get my dream air rifle. So my RM8 UC will do me fine for now. Lol
@@j7127 much thanks, that leaves more for me. RM UC is 2 steps below the reign. as a former military sniper. what do I know? you get what you pay for!
amateurs?
Maybe if they did push pins for the stock for easy access(not too many ) could give more reason to buy. I seriously considered this but spent that extra to get a quality feel and look same reason i wouldnt buy a g36c if i had the option over an l85 a3 or m4 Too much plastic (which overheats)
With mine i found the insertion of the magazine a bit awkward (due to the left or right insertion ability?) also the trigger has a two stage action that I found a bit draggy and no external adjustment? otherwise superb!
Sweet
Is it the Marmite effect? I love the design and have this gun on my wish list.
Great review as always Andy. Thank you and best wishes.👍🏻🇬🇧😍
Nice grouping I am impressed with the gun and the old Geezer pulling the trigger . It looks a very capable piece of kit . Nice review Andy you make me feel like I want one .......
I have the Mk 1, (.177) which I've owned for 3 years, I also own an RM8 Varmint in .177. The Reign Mk2 barrel appears to be the same as that fitted to the Varmint, including the muzzle brake. I'd be fascinated to know what has motivated the change in barrel design, particularly as the shrouded barrel was such a feature of the original design.
They changed the barrel because the original reign had issues. They have basically removed the barrel shroud and the defective part and called it the mk2 reign.
@@eatmynoobfood7461 what was the problema?
As they are in the same price band. How does it compare to the HW110?
I’m impressed 🙏 but how much in USA 🇺🇸
Love the look of the Reign but I have a problem. For a few £s more I can get a Weihrauch HW110K, which should I get?
The hammer sounds so different
Andy, great videos and info.
Have you done a video on the Ataman Bp17? Just wondering.
Thanks
Hey could you do one video with your favourite airgun co2 pistols?
I have the old walther reign and groups like a shotgun
Is it that good 👍🏻 😂
When there is no more lead pellets all guns will group like a shotgun!!!
@@tomwilkins3099 so you’re feeling up beat about things ! We adapt to over come 😎🤪
Hi, Any plans to review the Reximex Ixia ? your view would be greatly appreciated
The scope rail looks very high off of the barrel, so surely there’d be an absolute mountain of holdover on short range shots?
At sub 12 FPE it's not that bad.
I just came across an add on Google where someone in Africa is using a photo of this gun and calling it a "Black original Mossberg Patriot .308"
Since I know what a Mossberg .308 looks like I had to do an image search to find out what this weird gun is. That led me to this video.
🤨
what was the silencer you fitted on this please?
When will this rifle hit the market I don't even see it on their website.
Pretty cool little bill pup I have a question for you Andy what is your opinion on the the best pup for around $500 bucks

But only $599.99 for the UXT in the states something off with the UK pricing
Old post but it's not called ripoff Britain for nothing. Also the USA higher powered ones do not have regulators so cheaper to make I assume?
Funny, the more I see it the less ugly it becomes because I get used to it. I hope the internals are better then the RM8. The RM8 internals look like a bunch of hardware store fittings put together with a really awful trigger. Sold mine because of the trigger.
Excellent video as always Andy.
It is said that "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder", and in my humble view, the Reign really doesn't tick my boxes. It seems to have had it's genes passed directly from the Beluga Whale. Trying to hide the bottle inside the design really doesn't look that appealing to me.
The shot count doesn't seem that great for a bottle fed, regulated gun either!
However, at the £765 price, it certainly fits an important sector in the market. Compact, ergonomic, accurate and generally nice to shoot, the Reign 2 is bound to gain lots of fans.
Probably my FX Wildcat has spoiled me somewhat, but it cost a heck of a lot more.
Fair play to Walther for producing - whatever one's view - a great Bullpup.
Can you review the snowpeak p35 soon please
I’ve just bought one hoping it will be here by the weekend. Anyone got any suggestions for the best pellets to put through it? It’s my first .177 rifle so looking forward to seeing what the difference is from my collection of .22!
To anyone on the fence.... Get off and go buy one. I have the Gen 1 and it's AWESOME! can't see myself changing for any reason, great on the range and great at putting food on the table!
Da je poluautomatska bila bi najbolja, nevjerovatno je da Hatsan ima potpuno automatsku pušku.
How does this compare to FX Dreamline Bullpup or FX wildcat? Are the later that much better being 2x the price? Thanks, for the video!
Love it... Apart from the ugly screw holes all over it!
What was the moderator silencer you used?
Nice review. 👍
I’d have been interested to know what the changes are.
**Edit** I’ve carried out a little research over the past few weeks on the M2 via Umarex and media/reviews with a view to add one to my collection.
Now I’m not one to normally be negative but this appears to be the laziest attempt ever at releasing a new variant of a gun.
If Umarex wanted to remind us all that the Reign is there because it’s sometimes overlooked, why not just lower the price for a period or even better, permanently.
Airgunshooting had the audacity to say that, “Walther’s designers have burned away those input hours to great effect.”
Now that tells me that Airgunshooting is a paid for advertisement.
As good as the gun may be, the M2 is just a grift.
Old post but your comment seems strange, they fixed a known issue with the barrel shroud and called it a MK2 so people can tell its a different rifle and not get confused with several versions all using the same name.
I am confused... is the Reign 2 regulated of not? Is the non UK , more powerful variant regulated or not?
Seems to be the way, higher power not regulated . The .25 may not be regulated also?
Is that Walther as in...
Walther PPK?
👍
I like to buy one, what guns shop, this new walther reign 2 will be available???
What do you use to add air? Thanks!
Hi what pellet do you recommend in .177 for the reign m2 please ?
