Nice video again. I’ve had mine for about 1.5 months now. Great to drive and very comfortable. I did install a mesh screen behind the front grill; great for preventing bugs sticking to the radiator. Also, like yourself went for aftermarket window tint. Got the car ceramic coated as well.
@@PradoPlacesOz I got it done for around $1200 from a Detailer. This was the baseline one with 3 year warranty. Makes a difference when washing and the paint feels quite slick as well.
@@deepshallows You’ll have to buy it by the metre in a roll wide enough to cover the height. Then lay it over and cut to suit. To install it, you will have to take the top plastic black cover off (after opening the bonnet). Once placed on the inside you can cable tie it at various points on the grill itself. For the screen, I will suggest an aluminium screen as it is rigid enough and also quite corrosion resistant.
Great videos. I've got a GXL on order in the same colour. 4-5 month wait...month 3 and we still don't have a delivery date. Looking forward to getting it!
I've order a VX in NZ in April this year, 6 months wait, I supposed to be get the car in October but I've designed to change the color same as the one you order, now I won't get my car til mid of next year.

Hi Peter, Congrats for this Nice car! Very good choice ;) I'm planning to buy a prado 2.8 Diesel by end of 2021 but I'm hesistating a bit: I heard there is a new Version (TNGA platform like the LC 300) that will be released by end of 2022 . Do you think it is better to wait for the New model or take same as yours? Do you Think the New model will Be much more expensive?
I think it’s likely the new model in 2022 will be an upgrade with more standard equipment, so probably better. I guess it depends if you can wait that long. I’m sure it’ll be more expensive, yes.
I think even if it release by end of 2022, it will take ages to arrive to the market, i don't know about Australia, but in New Zealand, we cant even order lc300, because it takes more than 1 year due to global shortage of chips.
Thanks for the videos. Im currently in the process of leasing a new one. What month/ year was your built. The quote I received was for a Aug 20 build. I think this may still be a 2021 model though.... thanks
Hi there. Mine was built in December 2020 and has a January 21 compliance plate. If it has the bigger 9 inch touch screen and Apple Car Play it's the new model. The new model also has the newer updated 150KW engine output.
I’m running 36psi all round on highway/bitumen, drop to slightly lower psi on gravel roads, about 28/29. Off road, I follow the experts on U tube. 22-25 on rough stuff, drop to 12-15 psi so for sand. Check out Ronny Dahl’s u tube site for great off road advice.
@@PradoPlacesOz cheers, I called Toyota Australia about psi for towing our 2.5 tonne van.. They said 29 psi as per the compliance label.. The Dunlop tyre dealer laughed & said for the 17 inch with the existing radials that have 51 psi capacity, inflate to 36 psi minimum for around town up to 40 psi cold towing. work that one out!
@@eckahesketh9789 yeah towing that weight definitely go to higher psi. Toyota’s 29 psi is a “comfort” setting but too low for the tyre I agree. My. 36psi is just normal highway driving with nothing being towed.
@@RBPhantomTilt . Good info. I was doing on motorway only, air con off and lightly loaded. I had done over 300km and computer showing 1295km still available. I just don’t know how accurate the Toyota system is just yet. I reckon normal driving 1200km is about the go

Good info cheers. Ordered a Kakadu in Perth a few weeks ago 👍
Very nice! Great car with the better suspension and off roading gear. Not to mention better interior. Well done.
Thinking about getting one so this sort of info helps.
Thanks
Tints look great. Do you remember what the specs/ opacity was? Getting mine done in September
It was done by Solartint and was the legally darkest one you can get….. can’t recall the number
Hi can you share how you were able to get such a good deal for the Prado?
It was pre Covid and prices weren’t so hot. Unfortunately since the Covid lockdown prices have gone up.
Great Information Thank you 😊
Thanks
informative update... can i ask what tyre pressure you use?

Good summary & owners review. Quick question, how many kilometers have you gotten out of full tanks from full to near empty?
I’ve never run it right down, but a full tank would likely give you 1700km of highway driving, a bit more if you drive conservatively
@@PradoPlacesOz Thanks for the reply. Great range, beats having a smaller tank & carrying jerry cans!👍
Have found it's more like 1200 but you'll be pushing it. Have driven just under 1200km on one tank and filled up just to get me to my destination.
