I have to be honest, when I first started crocheting I got comfortable holding my yarn really weird (gripping it between my second and third fingers) but my tension is still good though. Lol
Me too. I’ve been trying to do my the second single chain and it just won’t work. I keep changing how to hold the yarn. Nothings working, It won’t stay tight or loose when it needs to be and my hook won’t go thru the loop and not one single UA-camr has mentioned a solution or a way
I hold my yarn exactly the same..its the best👍not only is this very comfortable ,you only lose the use of 1 finger. So you have 4 fingers to hold on and help move your work.
Wrap it around my pinky first. And then it gets wrapped around the index finger. But I am going to try the way that you show in your video and see how it feels. 🤚
Hi Sarah! Do you have any recommendations for how to increase tension while crocheting? I currently hold the yarn the way you have shown us in the video (thank you!!) but I have been having some issues getting gauge, even after going down a hook size (or several!). Any thoughts?

Just try a few and find your style
