You’ve not had the full Sachas experience without a double windowless room. You’ve literally no idea what time or day it is. Everyone seems to have some memories of this place. For me it was getting lost and stumbling into a service room with mouldy plates covering the floor. There was also a young lady with a glass eye snorting coke by the entrance at 2am. I always feel a tinge of sadness for hotels like this - like a neglected house that’s falling to pieces but that has masses of potential if only someone would spend a bit of cash on it. Thank you for such a fair and unbiased review. You now have a new subscriber.
@@mikeorr9533 not really when you think for another £20 a night you can stay at a travel lodge or premier inn. This place is grim. Never had a bad experience at travel lodge or premier inn always clean and tidy. Rooms are modern with very comfy beds. Why would you not just pay a bit extra.

Oh my days, I used to work here about 30 years ago as Assistant Night Manager. Back then, the place was always busy with functions. Hotel security had an office three floors under street level. Anyone misbehaved during functions. Security would take them to the room to await the police. Jenny's Restaurant was a busy pizzeria, and next to Jenny's was a French themed restaurant that they tried to focus on fine dining. I remember the nightclub called Saturdays that was linked to the hotel. The internal rooms were always embarrassing, so even then, we would upgrade where we could. We were given quite a lot of discretion about upgrades, discounts etc. Best thing about working here was having access to the roof where it was nice to spend your rest break. The views across the city then were amazing.
hi also used to work there as an assistant night manager, the night club (fight club!!) was just full of thugs and gangs. had a terrible time trying to keep that from spilling out and finding it's way upstairs don't remember a night when it didnt. most nights had to call the police myself and other staff being threatened and physically abused and the residents as well, not the best of places to work that's for sure, nice to see that they have removed all the stuffed animals including "sascha" the polar bear that was the first thing you saw on entering the hotel! the best bit was after the fight club closed we could all go down to the pizzeria and get a pizza pile on what ever we fancied, best pizza ever.
I also used to work here on the bar . on club nights - (full of lonely businessman looking for company - horrific !) at the end of the night as well as closing the bar up we had to wash up by hand and sweep up the used condoms from the floor! On a positive note I got chatted up by the lovely singer from the band "the christians"...
Wow, that was a blast from the past. I was the apprentice electrician there. We transformed that place from an old C&A store to one of the finest hotels in Manchester in the 80's. A lot of good memories working there.
Enjoying a lazy Sunday binge watching your vids. You are always very well mannered and respectful to people and the properties, so rare on youtube these days. Well done mate.
Honest review as always, I’ve never minded out dated, cleanliness is the most important part of any stay, followed of course by comfort, thank you for the review Tim x
The only good thing about it is the fact my cat was dumped in a cat carrier behind there…he went to the rspca when I adopted him, it’s now 10 years later and Willis is living the good life!
For Red Dwarf fans the one disused bar area seen at 13mins was setup with tables and chairs to be a restaurant in the series 2 episode ‘better than life.’ It had horrendous dark floral wallpaper back then and apparently did until recently although it’s now been painted slightly more tastefully judging from your footage.
Whilst any bad hotel is usually down to poor upkeep I genuinely think they wouldn't be so bad if the guests looked after the fittings as they should. You imagine how many pissed up people stay in city centre hotels and don't really care how they behave.....worth considering.
I used to stay here whenever I travelled to Manchester for gigs because it was cheap - The windowless rooms would get so hot in the summer I’d have to get up 5 or 6 times in the night for a cold shower - And as an extra treat I was once in the pool downstairs and an elderly man swam past me and preceded to cough up phlegm and spit it in the water next to me - Oh the memories!
For £55 a night in central Manchester the room looked decent enough. The bed looked as though it could be replaced, but I would happily stay there for a night or two if needed at that price.
Tim def stayed on the cheapest night. I had to stay here one Saturday night and it was like £110 per night for a way way worse room than his was, no free upgrades
It looks totally fine. Some peoples standards are so obnoxiously & unreasonably high these days. Like find a few cobwebs and call it ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING.
@@b1nary_f1nary nah but Tim had a good experience, it doesn't take away from all the bad ones. Go there during peak time and youll see its grim, paying £110++ for a room with no windows. the air gets so stuffy its horrible. Plus the long queue for no reason and they'll likely tell you the room isnt even ready for another x minutes
I stayed there for a couple of nights a few years back. While the decor was tired (especially in the corridors), it was nowhere near as bad as it’s made out to be. The hotel isn’t old at all. It was converted from a former C&A Department Store in the ‘90s. Underneath all the plastic domes stuck on the outside is quite a decent Art Deco building!
I've stayed at the britannia in Edinburgh twice, both times i've booked the windowless room and both times they upgraded us to a better room. Im starting to think those rooms don't actually exist in that hotel at all!
Uh, they certainly do. I stayed in the Brittania hotel by the bus station in the early 90s. As an ex-warehouse it had large floor areas so the internal rooms didn't have windows, just a curtained recess with fluorescent light to simulate daylight. The hotel wasn't too bad, magnificent entrance, decent "proper" restaurant and a pasta bar.
I stayed in this hotel a couple years ago and enjoyed my stay. It was a little run down in places but I was not disappointed in any way. My room was identical to the one here except there was no second bed, there was a sitting area instead. I stayed for 2 nights and could not have asked for a more helpful staff either. I hope things don't go too downhill!! The area was amazing for the price.
@@pinball7113 some people just have different expectations. Whenever I go to London I often stay in run-down hotels in the Bayswater area, but as long as the staff are helpful and there's hot water and no obvious dirt, that's all I need for one night.
Stayed there myself with my partner a couple if times, usually for nights out , going to gigs. Never had a problem. Pretty basic but fine fir a few drinks round the city center
As someone that has secondary employment in a hotel, if you cannot operate the bottom lock on the door at all, it is usually a feature of the lock that it automatically double-locks when the door is shut (therefore it appears broken). There's a pin which activates the lower bolt when the door is closed in to the frame. In my opinion it defeats the object of having a deadlock, but our lock provider says they are proven to be so secure that no extra bolt is required. As long as hotel staff know what they are doing when handing keys out there is no issue. Take from that what you will.
Just as a side note to your video, this hasn't always been a hotel. This building used to be a C & A clothes store before the firm closed its stores in the UK. You may or may not remember C & A. Their clothes were branded with the 'Canda' label. Older viewers will remember it well and may even still have some of their clothes in the back of the cupboard. In 2000, due to competition from Tesco and ASDA, and to expanding high street names such as H&M, Zara and Topshop, C & A announced its withdrawal from the British market, where it had been operating since 1922. They still operating across Europe.
What year are we talking here? I remember C&A only in the Arndale centre, I actually worked there as a store detective for a time. That's around '94 to '96; in fact the last day I worked there was the day of the Manchester bombing.
£55 in Manchester? Absolute bargain! You even got a hairdryer with a brand new diffuser. Biggest problem was that the door didn't lock. I would have taken a trip down to receptionShame about the lack of water in the pool, I'd never expected to be able to swim in a budget hotel and it would have been an amazing bonus. I would have gone out of the hotel for a meal and drink.
There's lots of bars and eateries right by the hotel, which is in the Northern Quarter. Also the coffee pot, around the corner, does a nice breakfast (so you can have a lie in!)
@@bobby6517 not really travel lodge and premier inn have proved you can offer decent accommodation at a cheap price. Stopped in Manchester recently at travel lodge and it worked out at around £75 a night much better than this s**thole. Britannia hotels are renowned for being horrible the one in Birmingham is the same.
@@radiohead123451 My experience with Travelodge St. Pancras in 2015 wasn't that much better than this. I (very politely) complained that the sink in the bathroom took over 15 minutes to drain and asked if they might be able to get someone have a look at it. They offered to move us to another room instead, which we politely declined because the bathroom was even worse and the room lacked the secondary glazing that made our original one acceptable - Gray's Inn Road can hardly be considered quiet and it wasn't very warm either. I definitely found it odd that adjacent rooms were so different, some with decent secondary glazing, others only with the single-glazed aluminium windows (gold anodised) from the 60s or whenever the place was built.
Another great review. I don't think Tim ever stays in anything that isn't Britannia! There are certainly a lot of them about. It's as if they have taken over these lovely buildings and not really done anything apart from keep them going with the bare minimum.
I used to stay near this place when working in Manchester, and always wondered what it would be like inside. Thanks for ‘taking one for the team’ to show us!
OMG, I worked Here many years back as a porter. When On Nights , Down in the nightclub around 3 ish, the DJ announced room for a vastly reduced price to sell them, and shouted out, if you got lucky tonight grab a cheap room! . Weird looking at the video as its not changed over the years to much. Great Videos
I have a challenge for you Tim, there's a hotel on Lillie Road which I often travel past, called 'Hotel Lily', the Tripadvisor rank is second worst in London. I entered the lobby and left soon after 😂 would be interested to know what a stay would be like
I've stayed there & was just awful, seems they spent the budget at reception & totally forgot about the customer experience upstairs. I highly recommend the Ibis hotel near it which is formally called "The cockpit" hotel - was like my second home!
I stayed here regularly in 1989 it was a five star hotel , the rooms were amazing and the food was fabulous they had a French restaurant and a night club . I have fond memories but it didn’t look anything like it does now what a shame thanks Tim x
"Nightmare on Tib St." has me creased. 😂😂😂As someone who lives in Manchester, I can confirm that Sacha's is notorious. I still applied for a job there, lol - glad I never heard back.
I think you might have been better off without a window, it would have been quieter and warmer! You're a brave man Tim, going for a wander round in that place, not something that I would have done 😬
I must be an exception to the rule, because some of these worst rated hotels, I don't believe are too bad, yes scuffs, yes some dust, yes paint on carpet, are these things real going to ruin your stay, if the price is reasonable, hot water to wash, and reasonable breakfast, then so what, thanks Tim for another honest review, till the next time.....
I stayed there about 5 years ago, our friends booked it as it was cheap. Your room looks absolutely gorgeous! I mean properly lovely compared with what we had. It is clean, massive, the bathroom is not mouldy and smashed up to hell. Yep, you got their best suite!!!
It's great to see you are in my fair city. As a child in the 80s I was always fascinated by this building. I've been in a few times in the 90s and early 2000s for parties etc. It looked ok back then, just a little gaudy. I've never seen any of the rooms. Thanks for taking us round. It's fascinating to see.
I'm.local to the area and I remember Saschas when I was 20 back in 1989 and nothing as changed, still the same exterior and the reception area hasn't changed, Sasha's bar that is situated on Oldham st is like the bar Mos eisley cantina from star wars lots of odd characters believe me.
I think your "workstation that's missing a chair" is in fact the TV stand for the old CRT TV they obviously used to have in there and never bothered to remove.
Watched this this morning....thank you Tim for doing this so we don't have to. I used to work in the sister hotel..the Britannia and I remember Sachas opening. The hotels had a a bad rep back then ( 30 years ago) and haven't improved in any way at all😲 anyway, I really enjoy your videos so keep on taking one for the team Tim.. you're a better person than myself.
Britannia, your "favourite" for worst rated hotels. You've been in worse! Those windows were very retro. My main concern would be the maze of corridors and what would happen in an emergency when you need to get out?
The seaside walks and hotspot places to visit are good, but I do really like your worst rated hotel videos. It's the uneasiness or off feeling a lot of these places have, that part down stairs by the gym and pool felt like something from a horror video game. I'm waiting for the moment you find a truly horrifying hotel haha
This was rather poignant for me as I stayed here in August 1988 for an induction course when I first joined BT. I seem to recall the meals offered were pretty grandiose back then with lots of choice. I’m quite sure they had their own nightclub area back then too. Cannot really remember how the room was but I was a lot younger then!
Yeah I was there with British rail about same time ..remember they had stuffed polar bear in reception and swimming pool with adjoining nightclub and yeah the meals were amazing
I stayed here a few years ago in a room with no windows with a friend. We had a random column between the beds, curtains on one wall to make you think there was a window, it was unbearably hot and the artwork in the room was a drawing of a naked woman. Ended up with a migraine because of the heat and no windows. It was cheap and you get what you pay for I suppose😂
Love ALL your content mate. Love it. Lived in England for years. Great Yarmouth, East Anglia area mostly but travelled through a lot. Feels like home. Miss it. Thank you for your unbiased and real reviews.
That one doesn’t look too bad - it was a C&A department store built in the late 1920s and it was converted into a hotel in 1987 hence that muddled art deco / post modern exterior which probably has had no maintenance since the conversion. Otherwise, it’s ok isn’t it? Get some fitted windows and a decent cleaner and that place is fine.
If memory serves, the basement (Jennys and gym areas in the video) used to be part of a well regarded nightclub back in the 90's. sadly since Sacha's is owned by Britannia, group, it has gone down hill very quickly over the past couple of decades.
I walked past that hotel just a few weeks ago and amazed its still going after reading the terrible reviews years ago when was looking at hotels to stop in for the xmas market
@@guilfoyleperrie7581 yes I remember back in 2014 looking at the reviews of it and there were photos of those half dome things and they were full of stagnant water !
How can a hotel have windows that do not close. Hearing the outside noise at night would drive me mad. I hope they can sort that out..I d hate to think what a standard room is like. Thankyou Tim
According to Wikipedia this hotel was originally a department store and was converted to a hotel in 1987!! I have never heard of a department store turned in to a hotel before! Very unique.
I am literally in the hotel watching this. Thought I'd do an update video as it's been a year since you came and on the whole it's not too bad, bearing in mind it's not nighttime yet so I haven't had the luxury of sleep yet! Great video, keep it up. Dean, Travelling Veteran.
Thanks for another balanced review...sometimes I wonder what people expect for £55, but I think some also have it in for Britannia hotels. There must be some much worse stinkers out there!
The hotel used to have a full sized stuffed polar bear on the plinth by the stairs that go up into the reception and in the downstairs bar/restaurant they also had swordfish and a shark mounted on the walls. Never found out why.
You should try the Easy Hotel in Luton....No opening windows at all, some rooms have no windows at all,not even a bin in the room never mind a kettle.....weird smells around the place...😄
They’ve clocked on who you are and gave you a better room there Tim 100 percent the middle rooms are awful. Took my mrs away when I was 18 for the first time all excited to get away , open the curtains, and it’s just a painting behind them couldn’t believe it 😂😂😂
I have stayed there in a windowless room. There was some sort of extraction fan in the ceiling, the type you would expect to see in a bathroom, and it was noisey! There wasn't a switch to turn it off, presumably because of the room being windowless and it may help with air circulation? Sachas does serve a purpose to a solo traveller who doesn't want to pay the usual Manchester City Centre prices, some being £200 or more. Trivelles in Salford is far worse than this. Tim should have a look at Trivelles Salford. 👍
My own memories of Sachas are when I attended the Festival Of Fantastic Films in the 90's, a highlight of which was helping carry the luggage of Dave Prowse up to his suite, due to an absence of porters. I returned there in 2009 for an overnight & was glad to see the place again. Thanks for the review.
I lived in Manchester City centre 14 years ago and this hotel was known as a bit of a dump even back then. It tended to be frequented by people from certain geographic locations and young ladies who provide services to them .
As soon as I saw the maze-like corridors and stairs I had a feeling this would be a popular place to invite escorts. By 'geographical location' do you mean parts of Manchester or other countries?
I took part in an art show a few years ago in Chester and the location the company chose for the year after was...Sachas. I couldn't believe it, felt so sorry for the people who might have gone along thinking it was a nice venue 😂
I've slept in B&Bs and Hotels up and down the Country and they were I'd rate from Excellent to Dire but I also slept rough for over a year in the North East when I was 16 and any accomodation however bad and basic beats a cardboard box in a shop doorway in Winter.
I stayed there in 1991. My dad was on a business trip to Manchester, taking mum, sister and me with him it was my 13th birthday . We went out for dinner in Chinatown. 3am I started to projectile vomit all over the cot bed I was sleeping on up on the raised bit which in those days had arm chairs and sofa. They used to have bedrooms rooms with jacuzzi's. It was quite the place to stay. It's funny how it's all still recognisable after all these years!
I live in Central Manchester and work in the Manchester picadilly Hotel, I always see sachas hotels and too scared to go inside because of the reviews. So im really glad you visited the place as iv heard horrible le tales about the place lol loved this video. But when you work in a 4* hotel such as mine and then visit sachas, sachas Hotel looks more like a hostel lol
Another great video! - Tim, you mentioned Bed Bugs in your video (from previous experiences) how do you avoid them? / Do you check before you unpack? I recently brought some home from a Hostel visit 😬
in my younger days Sachas was always known as the kind of place that you could go to if you had 'bumped in to' someone on a night out in town and didn't want to go home, as they always had cheap rooms and was right in the centre and easy to escape to get the bus at Piccadilly gardens the morning after.....
We stayed there in 2009 the rooms were shabby as the carpet was worn out. The bathroom cupboards were broken. Our bed was uncomfortable like hard rock. Some rooms didnt have windows. Our room had windows. The only positive part was the breakfast which was included in the price we also paid £55 per night.. We didnt like staying there. But since then I noticed the hallway carpets are different in the video and I noticed in some parts were the same carpet as before. We were there for a wedding. There was a hall there which was okay. I noticed the front part of the hotel as well. I noticed the long corridors and on one side it was like a haunted place and run down l wonder if it’s improved since then. 😮 3:21
'Straight out of The Shining", yet he still gives it 2/5. _Something_ was good about it in his view. "The hotel's demons kept trying to drive me insane, but the heated towel rails were nice."
Hello Tim, good content. I have ideas are hotels, you should try , the County Hotel in Carlisle, Cumbria on the Botchergate. The Britannia hotel in Edinburgh & Aberdeen 🏴 If you wanna try something new then maybe try Sleeprz - Dundeee / Newcastle hotels , the one in Edinburgh has a different name.
I'm from Bury, so just outside Manchester and I've walked past this hotel hundreds of times. I've been dying for years to know what it's like inside, cause of all the locals horror stories. It did not disappoint 🤣🤣
I walked past this place everyday for years. Always looked spooky. Never knew people actually stayed there. The best parking is the big outdoor one behind picadilly Station, used to be 1.50 for 24 hours. Probably a bit more now but much better than 50 quid in a multistory
thanks for the reviews i have stayed there after covid think they did some of it up its not to bad for one night so creapy at night keep up the reviews also the other britania on portland st
Before it became a hotel it was a department store C+A. Converted into a hotel in the late 80's and had a very successful night club called Sachas. It went down hill when it was bought by Brittania group.
When stayed in the Britannia the door didn’t even close shut. I had to wedge something under the door and put a mug on the handle! I’m just relieved my 4yr old doesn’t tend to wander 😂! Regardless it was a bed and shower for only a few days,so I didn’t mind that much.
It seems such a shame to let hotels get into this sad state. The swimming pool area was so creepy & the corridors,I certainly eouldnt want to walk around them on my own.Thank you for your honest review! I wouldnt stay there though.
You explained yourself why the curtains are stained on the outside, imagine the condensation and or mould those curtains will be absorbing when they're partially exposed to the elements. It doesn't look that bad to be fair; and for 50 quid, well you could do a lot worse! At least it's heated! This is probably their version of a presidential suite though; so I think you should check some of their other rooms out!
Welcome to hotel Overlook...tbh i worked in a similarly bad hotel (Ballsbridge hotel) in Dublin 😖 that was almost falling apart. Problem was it was supposed to be demolished to make space for new apartments and nobody bothered about the state of the place.
In a room like that you should put the heating on full, then open the window wider bit by bit until the temperature is right. You've got no soundproofing anyway so the open window won't make much difference. 😎
Stayed here when we saw Harry Styles in Manchester this year.. tbh thought it was alright. For being in the city centre price was great. Yeah decor wasn’t great but did us for the night.
I can't believe you were in Manchester and didn't do a review of 'The Gardens' hotel in Piccadilly Gardens. It makes this place look like The Ritz. I always used to stay in The Gardens when I was younger and traveling to football matches a lot, but I'd certainly not want to go back there now. The entrance alone is enough to set the alarm bells ringing! Well worth checking out if you're ever back in the city.
The walk around of this hotel reminds me of The Wesley Hotel in London by Euston. It just goes on and on through loads of different doors & corridors. Not too expensive for London, but you’ll see what I mean if you go & don’t have one of their upgraded rooms.
Compared to some places you've been, this looked OK! 😂 Those flashing lights are pretty horror though - you should have found a light switch so you could film that flickering in the dark for maximum horror 🤣
Cover over the pool and make it into a retro disco, put on your bell bottoms of nylon (or some other synthetic cloth) and play the right music. Great video again as always. I guess Gaby might not want to stay there, especially with the little one.
Tim I love your videos, especially these type of ones!! Hope you and the family have a great Christmas. Looking forward to more brilliant content in 2023
I stayed here around 2010ish and omg what a nightmare, we booked thinking wow so close to the city center, only to find the rooms with bugs all over, we got moved to another room and still same issue but this room had a hot tub bath I did not want to get in. How this hotel isn't shut down after all these years I'll never know.
The flashing lights are so bizarre! Straight outta the backrooms, lol. I love these old hotels..maybe not for staying in but what fun it would be to explore! Living vicariously through your videos :)
Not a roof, its a ceiling. The roof is on top of the building, now I'm nitpicking, another great video and another hotel I will not be visiting. Happy christmas

Blimey. It worries me that I recall the names of the Bar and pizzeria too... Scarry memories
Britannia hotels give absolutely zero F's 😂
At this point i just gotta admire their total ruthlessness.
Merry Xmas Tim.
Wow, that was a blast from the past. I was the apprentice electrician there. We transformed that place from an old C&A store to one of the finest hotels in Manchester in the 80's. A lot of good memories working there.
I thought it was the old C&A store, I remember shopping there before it moved to the Arndale.
Enjoying a lazy Sunday binge watching your vids. You are always very well mannered and respectful to people and the properties, so rare on youtube these days. Well done mate.
Thanks Gav
Honest review as always, I’ve never minded out dated, cleanliness is the most important part of any stay, followed of course by comfort, thank you for the review Tim x
Absolutely, thanks june

For Red Dwarf fans the one disused bar area seen at 13mins was setup with tables and chairs to be a restaurant in the series 2 episode ‘better than life.’ It had horrendous dark floral wallpaper back then and apparently did until recently although it’s now been painted slightly more tastefully judging from your footage.

Wow
The bed looked as though it could be replaced, but I would happily stay there for a night or two if needed at that price.
no way a weekend though lol
Tim def stayed on the cheapest night. I had to stay here one Saturday night and it was like £110 per night for a way way worse room than his was, no free upgrades
Im wit you this place is gold if you look around
Im starting to think those rooms don't actually exist in that hotel at all!
oh they do!
@@WalkWithMeTim maybe there's just something about me and my GF that makes them know we would complain!
Sadly they do. I had this misfortune of staying in one in Birmingham City centre & to make it worse the room really smelt of tobacco smoke.
@@WalkWithMeTim maybe English building regs , here in Scotland all bedrooms must have windows
The area was amazing for the price.
why do you sound like hotel staff lol?
Okay Deborah. Back to hoovering the hotel carpets now hen.
Did you write a good review?
Yes I used to always get my clothes from there lol
They had a teen range called clockwork back in the 80s
The ladies loved buying their knickers from there, as the C&A label meant that they couldn't put them on back to front.
@@gingermongoose3325 the old 'uns are the best!
Some people expect the world for a couple of quid
The door looked like it'd been kicked in at some point. Not great.

Good thinking
Oh my Mum and sister stayed at Hotel Lily a few years back, and to this day they STILL refer to it as the worst hotel they've ever stayed in 🤣
I stayed here regularly in 1989 it was a five star hotel , the rooms were amazing and the food was fabulous they had a French restaurant and a night club .
12:07 whoever is working there needs to get to work on that chandellier! egads.
I think you might have been better off without a window, it would have been quieter and warmer! You're a brave man Tim, going for a wander round in that place, not something that I would have done 😬
As a girl with curly hair I really appreciate that the hair dryer comes with a diffuser attachment!

My main concern would be the maze of corridors and what would happen in an emergency when you need to get out?
well fire exits SHOULD be well posted
Our standards in the UK 🇬🇧 are disgracefu in everything not just hotels..especially in the last 40 years
I stayed here a few years ago in a room with no windows with a friend. We had a random column between the beds, curtains on one wall to make you think there was a window, it was unbearably hot and the artwork in the room was a drawing of a naked woman. Ended up with a migraine because of the heat and no windows. It was cheap and you get what you pay for I suppose😂
yes so many are talking about how hot the hotel is
You shouldn't have to pay for a migraine.

The hotel used to have a full sized stuffed polar bear on the plinth by the stairs that go up into the reception and in the downstairs bar/restaurant they also had swordfish and a shark mounted on the walls. Never found out why.

wow! was gutted I didn't get to see them
Great video! If you ever go to Bangkok, check out the Nana hotel! Stayed there in 2005 - It's barely changed!

It's funny how it's all still recognisable after all these years!

in my younger days Sachas was always known as the kind of place that you could go to if you had 'bumped in to' someone on a night out in town and didn't want to go home, as they always had cheap rooms and was right in the centre and easy to escape to get the bus at Piccadilly gardens the morning after.....
They say they upgraded you to create an impression they're giving better service, when in reality they havent done anything

I walked past this place everyday for years. Always looked spooky. Never knew people actually stayed there. The best parking is the big outdoor one behind picadilly Station, used to be 1.50 for 24 hours. Probably a bit more now but much better than 50 quid in a multistory

I got baptized in the swimming pool and have stayed here on another occasion wasnt to bad for the price aha
I came across your channel as it was on my recommended and I’ve now subscribed, safe to say I like your reviews, unbiased and honest

Legend has it that those chandeliers date back to Louis XIV. A bit of windowlene and a tube of superglue and they'd be fine in no time.

Welcome to hotel Overlook...tbh i worked in a similarly bad hotel (Ballsbridge hotel) in Dublin 😖 that was almost falling apart. Problem was it was supposed to be demolished to make space for new apartments and nobody bothered about the state of the place.
Sacha's was originally the C&A department store, Britannia bought the building and turned it into a hotel hence the internal rooms without windows.
