Well that room looked pretty decent plenty of space. Gaby you looked lovely hope you enjoyed your night out how lovely for you both. Holly is a good girl looking after her brother. So nice to see. Merry Christmas all. 😊
I remember years ago staying in The Globe hotel in King's Lynn and it was always really nice. 'Spoons get a lot of bad rep but other than aged furniture in the downstairs bar area it's overall a quality venue with some excellent quality toilets. Food isn't too bad either (other than their "toast" which is dry floppy heated bread!).
I'm sure that it's different nowadays but when I worked the doors in lynn back in the early 90s the globe and the maydens head the other side of the market place were a bit strange, lunch time full of business types eating scampi and chips and old ladies having shepherds pie. Come 9.00pm both of those venues turned into roadhouse, although probably more so the maydens head. The other thing about the globe is that a lot of famous actors stay there because of Lynn's historic buildings a lot of period films and television dramas are filmed there.
Stayed in spoons hotel in Worcester, it was a very similar room. Couldn't have been happier. Booked early, can't recall the price but was great value i remember.
The weatherspoons Hotel really was nice! Beautiful Windows in your Family Room & a lovely view outside of Great Yarmouth! I loved the bed being a whole double bed & not two shoved together! The Bathroom had a luxurious Bath & roomy shower, it all looked clean as you said Tim, not even any Hairs in the Bath! The sofa looked ok. The spaces in the room looked abit empty but I suppose a Cot could go there for Casper I did notice although it is a family room there didn't seem to be a sleeping place for Casper. Just re-watched & you got the Cot for Casper, Goodo! The TV was nice on a stand instead of been stuck in an inconvenient place on the wall. As you said Tim it did feel more like a living room in that TV corner. Shame the Windows were draughty & the Air Conditioning was that type I don't like where it blows stale air out. I prefer good old Radiators! I would love under floor heating never tried it! The Pub downstairs looked lovely, all clean lots of sitting places & the best thing about Wetherspoons no music! So you can have a conversation with each other without shouting! I've had the Gormet Steak Meal that Gaby had, I have medium steak & I've got to admit it can be a little chewy & tough at times! I might try medium rare like Gaby had next time! My local pub is a Wetherspoons. Weatherspoons often buy big old Buildings & convert them. My Wetherspoons used to be a Chapel, & it has beautiful stain glass windows, I always go & sit upstairs which is where the balcony of the chapel.used to be. The only thing I will say is that the maintenance of my Wetherspoons Chapel hasn't been kept up, it was renovated into the pub in about 2005 but the plasterwork on the ceiling is starting to come down now. And there is either condensation or damp showing thru on the ceiling too. Before it was renovated the Chapel was all boarded up & was a A&M Bargains. But Wetherspoons don't seem to be maintaining the Building now which is a shame. It's still my local tho so I'll keep on going there! Was your Wetherspoons an old renovated building Tim??
@@WalkWithMeTim oh I see the pub always was a pub & the offices were converted into the Hotel part! It certainly was a nice looking & interesting building on the inside! I loved your family corner room & all those windows. If I ever get to Great Yarmouth i might stay in your Wetherspoons!
It looks quite nice to be honest the decor seems nicer than a Premier Inn I think personally, I would stay in one but not Yarmouth :) Thank you again Tim and Gaby
Wow wasn't expecting a Wetherspoons hotel to look that good, that's very impressive and for just £79 too. I wonder what the hotels are like in the older Spoons where a hotel has been retrofitted in unlike your purpose built one.
@@WalkWithMeTim yes the one you reviewed is clearly new build where as a lot of spoons are often in very old buildings such as old cinemas etc so I can imagine it wouldn’t quite be the same as yours
Great to see your take on one of these. Have not stayed in one myself but someone I know has and they spoke highly of it. Your dinners were about the norm for Wetherspoon, pretty good for the price. I usually have steak and, like Gaby, it is a bit hit and miss as to whether it is exactly what you request, but acceptable.
Me and my missus Julie always stay in the weatherspoons (The Angel) Whitby ,Yorkshire its fantastic ,The staff on reception are excellent ,the rooms are all clean and fresh ,never had any issues with anything , me and my son and mates ride our motorbikes to there use it as a base and then go off riding the coast and always come back for our tea and a couple of pints ,definitely recommended . Me and my missus are going again in 2023
I stayed in Northolt Wetherspoons hotel near London earlier this year with my mum and dad, again a family room! And the quality of the room was amazing and wouldn’t have thought we were staying in a spoons hotel!! 🥰 Bonus also, not far from London centre as we visited there one of the days we were down there! Picked up and Uber both ways and got discount because our first time using the app xx
We have stayed in the 'Spoons' in Monmouth. A VERY old building. Room was much smaller than yours but had everything in it. Far more than a Premier Inn. Bathroom was a good size. The only problem was the drains were a tad 'niffy'. Not sure why that was as it was all very clean. The food was the standard fare served up throughout the Country. Steaks can be hit and miss. I would definitely stay in one of their pubs again. Decent quality and good value.
I was actually thinking of doing a Wetherspoons pub hotel review on my UA-cam channel but Tim & Gabbi beat me to it! That hotel looks great, some of the hotels are much older buildings which might be a slightly different scenario. Great video!
I stayed at The Briar Rose in Birmingham in 2019 for a work night out. I showed the photos of my room to my work mates and were surprised. They said for what I paid for was oh get you. That morning felt hungover but overall it was fabulous, look after. Super hospitality.
I tell you what, I’m really impressed. The room was huge and quite swanky too. I’d be more than happy to stay there. Plus handy sherbets 🍻 just downstairs 😂 That fish looked lovely but the chips anaemic 😂 Both of you chew fast I must say Edit…. The spoons in my town is called “The Leyland Lion” It’s in the old main post office but it’s got it’s name from a bus Leyland Motors used to build years ago.
Better than I expected from Wetherspoons, I feel your pain about the milk and hash browns. Our son has a milk allergy so always a nightmare trying to find foods with no milk.
I've only eaten once in a Wetherspoons and that was in October when I went back to the UK to visit family and friends. The food was very cheap indeed, but it was very so-so and nothing to write home about. The pub we went to was massive and it was packed, on a mid week evening. So I can see how popular they are. I thought the hotel was pretty good actually. A very big family room. The main bed looked very small though - was it a double? I'd definitely stay in one if the opportunity arose next time I go home.
WOW well impressed with this accommodation Tim 👍 never knew Wetherspoons offered rooms, great vlog as always 🌲♥️👍 a very happy Christmas to you and the family Tim and thank you for another great year of tremendous vlogs.
I haven't stayed in a Wetherspoons hotel for years; last time was in Birmingham. They have obviously upped their game! Did you query the early morning window cleaning?
I was wondering if you’d reviewed a Wetherspoons hotel. Back when I was staying in hotels 5 nights a week for work I stopped using Premier Inn unless there wasn’t a Werherspoons hotel available. They blew me away, especially the Trollcart. I stayed in there shortly after it opened. I booked a family room, it was up in the roof. Well, it was better than most 5 star hotels I’ve been to! - which you know, because I’m watching this as I type and you are in the same room 😂 The breakfast situation is better in premier inn, but it’s not by any means bad in Wetherspoons. The bedside offerings are amazing, at one point I had a bag full of packed biscuits! The trollcart in Great Yarmouth, the Romany Rye in Dereham and the Globe (I think) in King’s Lynn - the globe always seemed a little less nice. Not bad, just a little less opulent. I noticed they would always try to put me into the same room as well, particularly in the Romany Rye. I hope they haven’t dropped on standards since I was using them.
Always enjoy spoons, custodians of some of our finest historic buildings, eg, Tunbridge wells, ramsgate etc. have stayed in the Henley spoons, local to me, great room with 4 poster bed, can’t fault it.
Looks decent if it’s reasonably priced, it expect a family room to have 3/4 proper beds though. The breakfast is probably better than a Premier Inn offering too.
Visiting Weatherspoons the other day I was amazed to see draught bitter at £1.77 a pint plus when i bought my meal at a very reasonable price the pint was incuded free ! How they can operate at these low cost levels is seeing to be believed. (The meal was delicious as well !) I shall be returning again very soon !
Thing I loved... T and G treated it as a break when they are local to the area. Empaphised with Gaby about limited free time to socialize when becoming new parent.
Great review, Tim. I’m not a fan of Wetherspoons due to the eccentric boss but I’d stay in that hotel… also loved Gaby sneaking the booze into the room when she was “slightly intoxicated!” 😆
Hi Tim.. found your channel about 2 weeks ago and I cannot seem to watch enough of your content! 🙂 my favourites are " The worst rated" hotels but I absolutely loooooved Craig y nos and Bodmin jail! You are extremely good at this and I look forward to your review on weatherspoons 👍🏻 can I poss ask what microphone do you use to connect to your camera? Kind regards .. We stayed at one for the first time For a wedding near Ruthin Castle and have to say for the price it was excellent, the staff were friendly and had a really nice night there. Would try a wethers again. Even the beans were hot which was a miracle
I have stayed in a couple of these hotels, all to a very high standard, the most unusual one was in Harwich, the room was in the middle of the building with no windows, BUT you could open the blinds in a ceiling window to look up at the stars or sun (depending) this was electrically controlled open or close, and there duvets are like sleeping in a marshmellow bed.
I can recommend the Wetherspoons at Ripon, N Yorks providing you don't need a lift to get upstairs and Tewkesbury, again no lift. Both old buildings. Very good value eating and drinking and clean rooms.
Looks very nice, but a lack of mini-fridge/bar and no room service rules out any hotel for me. Pity. They are missing out on customers like myself, who do insist on full facilities in rooms and room service as a must.
We stayed in the Birmingham one, The Briar Rose. Right by new street station and had a great time - massive bed it was like 2 doubles pushed together. It's really nice that you get a separate entrance and exit too. Really recommend the wetherspoons hotels!

Yes, I stayed in the same hotel. First time in a 'spoons hotel, and I was impressed at the value. would definitely stay in one again.
No this has been open for years and upstairs uses to ne offices
@@WalkWithMeTim oh I see the pub always was a pub & the offices were converted into the Hotel part!
It certainly was a nice looking & interesting building on the inside!
I loved your family corner room & all those windows.
If I ever get to Great Yarmouth i might stay in your Wetherspoons!
That guy washing the windows was your Wetherspoons wake up service.
lol
It looks quite nice to be honest the decor seems nicer than a Premier Inn I think personally, I would stay in one but not Yarmouth :) Thank you again Tim and Gaby
thanks Mel
Brilliant! Good on you, Tim!
:-)
I don't think anyone could possibly find a fault with that room. Very cozy indeed.
Agree
Wow wasn't expecting a Wetherspoons hotel to look that good, that's very impressive and for just £79 too.
I wonder what the hotels are like in the older Spoons where a hotel has been retrofitted in unlike your purpose built one.
Yes it's the older ones I m curious about but this one is definitely good value. Standards higher than I expected
@@juliet7703 regardless of the age of the building, the rooms are very clean and modern.
@@juliet7703 yes this is a new one so it’s going to look good, so wondering about an older building that’s been converted
Good question!
@@WalkWithMeTim yes the one you reviewed is clearly new build where as a lot of spoons are often in very old buildings such as old cinemas etc so I can imagine it wouldn’t quite be the same as yours
Absolutely love the room...
I stopped in the Tewkesbury one, was well shocked. The pub certainly didnt reflect the quality of the rooms.
I know! lol
They look alright to be fair. The view is quite good as well.
Another excellent Video as always Tim. Wishing You,Gaby & Casper a very Happy Christmas 🎅
Thanks Jonathan, Merry Christmas
Very a nice hotel your room was nice nice to see gaby with you Tim hope you liked it
Great to see your take on one of these. Have not stayed in one myself but someone I know has and they spoke highly of it. Your dinners were about the norm for Wetherspoon, pretty good for the price. I usually have steak and, like Gaby, it is a bit hit and miss as to whether it is exactly what you request, but acceptable.
Gabi needs to join you for more videos. She is awesome
Me and my missus are going again in 2023
Sounds great!
Picked up and Uber both ways and got discount because our first time using the app xx
stayed in that same hotel and was also amazed by the size of the room and the quality of the room .
going again soon .
Decent quality and good value.
that seemed very reasonable
Locked doors and lots of CCTV - everything that is wrong with hotels today
Love watching every thing you do keep it up all the best for 2023
Thanks paul
Plus handy sherbets 🍻 just downstairs 😂
That fish looked lovely but the chips anaemic 😂
Both of you chew fast I must say
Edit…. The spoons in my town is called “The Leyland Lion”
It’s in the old main post office but it’s got it’s name from a bus Leyland Motors used to build years ago.
Stayed in a Wetherspoons in Barrow-In-Furness (Double Room), it was massive! Spotless too and even the bathroom was lovely.
Better than I expected from Wetherspoons, I feel your pain about the milk and hash browns. Our son has a milk allergy so always a nightmare trying to find foods with no milk.
Wow... nice place... so comfy... thanks for sharing this with us... OMG fish and chips... love it! Have fun... be blessed!
Thank you too
Absolutely love weatherspoons ..a pub for the people
A real eye opener. Thank you
I've only eaten once in a Wetherspoons and that was in October when I went back to the UK to visit family and friends. The food was very cheap indeed, but it was very so-so and nothing to write home about. The pub we went to was massive and it was packed, on a mid week evening. So I can see how popular they are. I thought the hotel was pretty good actually. A very big family room. The main bed looked very small though - was it a double? I'd definitely stay in one if the opportunity arose next time I go home.
very suprised with the weatherspoon hotel and gabby looking stunning as per usual .
It really is!
WOW well impressed with this accommodation Tim 👍 never knew Wetherspoons offered rooms, great vlog as always 🌲♥️👍 a very happy Christmas to you and the family Tim and thank you for another great year of tremendous vlogs.
thanks Stephen
We were shown round the spoons hotel in Weston Super Mare when it first opened, it was absolutely fantastic
We’ve stopped in a few Spoons hotels & they’ve all been the same excellent standard 👍
Awesome video, as always.
Thanks again!
Well done to Wetherspoons.
My Wife and I have stayed in Wetherspoons hotels in Newbury, Birmingham, Shewsbury, Henley. Aylesbury and Canterbury. All well kept and good value.
Brilliant weatherspoons hotel and looks better than all other immigration inn hotels so hopefully stays like this
I haven't stayed in a Wetherspoons hotel for years; last time was in Birmingham. They have obviously upped their game! Did you query the early morning window cleaning?
I've stayed there twice, all good in a double room. The car park has a deal and overnight is pretty cheap. 👍🏻
There's a lovely one in the Town of Brecon, Wales.
That looked really nice i'd stay there, £79 a very fair price..
Especially for a last minute booking.
Wow excellent and fantastic sharing very nice place and mouthwatering tasty foods
Thanks Tim and gabby or gabbie brilliant video as always and I know where I will stay now. 😊
I have stayed in several Spoons hotels, and have been very impressed.
I have stayed in the Bath Arms in Warminster, very good for Longleat. Would recommend it.
Another cracker Tim, hope you and the family have a wonderful Christmas 👍👍👍
Thanks, you too!
Impressive security measures.
Thing I loved... T and G treated it as a break when they are local to the area. Empaphised with Gaby about limited free time to socialize when becoming new parent.
Love a Spoons for some scran but never seen their hotels before. Really surprisingly good! Great video
Thanks for watching!
Great review, Tim. I’m not a fan of Wetherspoons due to the eccentric boss but I’d stay in that hotel… also loved Gaby sneaking the booze into the room when she was “slightly intoxicated!” 😆
lol
Great video thanks it very interesting to see inside a hotel where you live and have wondered what the hotel was like inside❤️👍🏻
Hi Tim.. found your channel about 2 weeks ago and I cannot seem to watch enough of your content!
Craig from Newquay - Cornwall.
thanks Craig, worst rated hotel coming Wednesday
We've stayed in one in the centre of Birmingham a couple of times and it was really nice.
Nice place!
I wouldn’t spend a brass farthing in his pubs, after what he said & done to his staff.
Which was?
i stayed in the one at Minehead while visiting the west Somerset railway and thought it was really good
Thanks Tim.seems good happy new year
thanks Roberto happy new year
We stayed at one for the first time
For a wedding near Ruthin Castle and have to say for the price it was excellent, the staff were friendly and had a really nice night there.
Good to know!
Looks very nice, but a lack of mini-fridge/bar and no room service rules out any hotel for me.
Pity. They are missing out on customers like myself, who do insist on full facilities in rooms and room service as a must.
i've stayed in many Wetherspoon hotel's and they've all been very good for the money
Stayed in a few Wetherspoon hotels around the country…… no complaints at all. If I had one gripe it would be parking.
We stayed in the Birmingham one, The Briar Rose. Right by new street station and had a great time - massive bed it was like 2 doubles pushed together. It's really nice that you get a separate entrance and exit too. Really recommend the wetherspoons hotels!
