Hi. I've actually been to a few Wetherspoons hotels Tim and I find them all very good. Andover, Wetherspoons was a real treat. Absolutely superb. Also stayed in Shrewsbury, Briar Rose (Birmingham), Ripon & Newport (Wales) - alas no longer a Wetherspoons. When on my leisure trips I always check out the local 'Spoons' hotels first!
I stayed at the Wetherspoon Hotel in Bridport, again the family room, and again it was huge with a great big bathroom. Quite a contrast from what you expect from a Premier Inn. Knowing the food and drink offering down stairs makes it a great marriage I feel. As most of them are new it will be interesting to see if they are able to maintain the quality.
definitely a pleasant surprise for that room, providing their okay-ish food i wasnt expecting any of the bells and whistles to be included with their hotel experience, but the room looked brilliant.
Looks really good, i was also surprised by the overall standard of the room you stayed in, i think i shall be booking a witherspoon hotel in the not to distant future due to your most informative review Tim. Many thanks keep up the good work.
I was expecting a rather basic offering from a Wetherspoons' hotel but that room looked really nice. A good deal for £79. I'd certainly stay at one. Now if only their food was up to the standard of their hotel rooms...
I stayed in London for a weekend a couple of years ago. The ONLY decent meal we found was in the Wetherspoons by London Bridge. Everywhere else we ate was crap- including the £60 a head (plus wine) restaurant in Covent Garden.
I visited my local spoons the other day. It was very busy, yet the food came really quickly. Very good service. Had worse from much poorer service from posher establishments.
I love the spoons hotels...they get booked up very quickly...they are a tad more expensive than travel lodges but it's worth it for the food and bar..so it balances out the time you eat and drink...the downside is parking, not all their hotels have onsite parking and using nearby car parks can be very overpriced... I had to pay £18 per 24 hours on one occasion
We have stayed in quite a few Weatherspoons and our summer driving holiday this year consisted of 3 weatherspoons. Bewdley.... great had a carpark. Rochester ....carpark by the station, bit of a walk away but reasonable price. Doncaster......carpark good walk away in the shopping centre, cost almost £60 for 2 nights. Problem is you usually arrive in a busy town at 2pm ish too stressful to be driving around hunting for carparks. It's made us reevaluate future stays in any hotel.....it must have a car park.
Suggestion for Tim, in York theres a wetherspoons called The Postern Gate. It isn't a wetherspoons hotel. But it is on the ground floor and is joined on to and shares the same outdoor space as a travelodge. It's bang next to the ouse and overlooks the castle museum. might be worth checking out!
To be fair - loads of hotels I've stayed in recently including quite expensive ones, haven't had their windows cleaned in years. They are absolultely filthy which is a shame if there is an actual view to look at. So i give a bit of props to Spoons for getting theirs cleaned even if it did knock you up a bit early ;)
Thanks for showing us a Wetherspoons hotel Tim. It looked comfortable and good value for what you paid. I tend to use Premier Inn when I go and visit friends around the UK and stay at one of those. I'll give Wetherspoons hotel a go next time instead!
Great vlog Tim as ever, I stayed in the Wetherspoons hotel in Beccles & was really impressed. I had a double room which cost about £60 & the room was a better standard than Hotels that charge more than double that.
Great to see your take on one of these. Have not stayed in one myself but someone I know has and they spoke highly of it. Your dinners were about the norm for Wetherspoon, pretty good for the price. I usually have steak and, like Gaby, it is a bit hit and miss as to whether it is exactly what you request, but acceptable.
The weatherspoons Hotel really was nice! Beautiful Windows in your Family Room & a lovely view outside of Great Yarmouth! I loved the bed being a whole double bed & not two shoved together! The Bathroom had a luxurious Bath & roomy shower, it all looked clean as you said Tim, not even any Hairs in the Bath! The sofa looked ok. The spaces in the room looked abit empty but I suppose a Cot could go there for Casper I did notice although it is a family room there didn't seem to be a sleeping place for Casper. Just re-watched & you got the Cot for Casper, Goodo! The TV was nice on a stand instead of been stuck in an inconvenient place on the wall. As you said Tim it did feel more like a living room in that TV corner. Shame the Windows were draughty & the Air Conditioning was that type I don't like where it blows stale air out. I prefer good old Radiators! I would love under floor heating never tried it! The Pub downstairs looked lovely, all clean lots of sitting places & the best thing about Wetherspoons no music! So you can have a conversation with each other without shouting! I've had the Gormet Steak Meal that Gaby had, I have medium steak & I've got to admit it can be a little chewy & tough at times! I might try medium rare like Gaby had next time! My local pub is a Wetherspoons. Weatherspoons often buy big old Buildings & convert them. My Wetherspoons used to be a Chapel, & it has beautiful stain glass windows, I always go & sit upstairs which is where the balcony of the chapel.used to be. The only thing I will say is that the maintenance of my Wetherspoons Chapel hasn't been kept up, it was renovated into the pub in about 2005 but the plasterwork on the ceiling is starting to come down now. And there is either condensation or damp showing thru on the ceiling too. Before it was renovated the Chapel was all boarded up & was a A&M Bargains. But Wetherspoons don't seem to be maintaining the Building now which is a shame. It's still my local tho so I'll keep on going there! Was your Wetherspoons an old renovated building Tim??
@@WalkWithMeTim oh I see the pub always was a pub & the offices were converted into the Hotel part! It certainly was a nice looking & interesting building on the inside! I loved your family corner room & all those windows. If I ever get to Great Yarmouth i might stay in your Wetherspoons!
We have stayed in the 'Spoons' in Monmouth. A VERY old building. Room was much smaller than yours but had everything in it. Far more than a Premier Inn. Bathroom was a good size. The only problem was the drains were a tad 'niffy'. Not sure why that was as it was all very clean. The food was the standard fare served up throughout the Country. Steaks can be hit and miss. I would definitely stay in one of their pubs again. Decent quality and good value.

Wow wasn't expecting a Wetherspoons hotel to look that good, that's very impressive and for just £79 too. I wonder what the hotels are like in the older Spoons where a hotel has been retrofitted in unlike your purpose built one.
@@WalkWithMeTim yes the one you reviewed is clearly new build where as a lot of spoons are often in very old buildings such as old cinemas etc so I can imagine it wouldn’t quite be the same as yours

I've only eaten once in a Wetherspoons and that was in October when I went back to the UK to visit family and friends. The food was very cheap indeed, but it was very so-so and nothing to write home about. The pub we went to was massive and it was packed, on a mid week evening. So I can see how popular they are. I thought the hotel was pretty good actually. A very big family room. The main bed looked very small though - was it a double? I'd definitely stay in one if the opportunity arose next time I go home.
very impressive and not too expensive as it includes the breakfast. Yarmouth looks such a great place to go by this video and others you have done. Definitely somewhere to visit, or maybe live
I stayed in our local 'Spoons hotel, The Yarborough, in Grimsby when we were having a major house refurb. I was amazed how good it was. The double room was huge with a separate seating area. Generous bathroom. It's right next to the railway station but I didn't hear the trains in our room. If you like draft beer, the Yarborough has a decent selection. I'd definitely recommend it
Stayed there a few times. Happy to stay again if need be, that says it all!!! One thing that doesn't get mentioned is how helpful and friendly the staff are 😁
Stayed in a weatherspoons hotel in Thirsk ,three tuns.listed building. Doors into rooms small i had to duck to get in, and im 5ft 7 inches . Original 17th century doors and antique floor boards.throughout spotless and quality.
I was actually thinking of doing a Wetherspoons pub hotel review on my UA-cam channel but Tim & Gabbi beat me to it! That hotel looks great, some of the hotels are much older buildings which might be a slightly different scenario. Great video!
Thank you Tim we always pass there every time we stay in Yarmouth and have always wandered what it’s like now we know. It looked gorgeous We usually stay in Marlborough guest house or faulty towers x
Better than I expected from Wetherspoons, I feel your pain about the milk and hash browns. Our son has a milk allergy so always a nightmare trying to find foods with no milk.
Stayed in spoons hotel in Worcester, it was a very similar room. Couldn't have been happier. Booked early, can't recall the price but was great value i remember.
It looks quite nice to be honest the decor seems nicer than a Premier Inn I think personally, I would stay in one but not Yarmouth :) Thank you again Tim and Gaby
Hi Tim and Gabby we stay at the troll cart in great Yarmouth when the horse racing meetings are on and they are fantastic. We have stopped at loads of Wetherspoon's hotels and I must admit I wouldnt stay any where else they are good value for money, always clean and very comfortable 10 out of 10. Kim and Geoff xxx
I stayed in Northolt Wetherspoons hotel near London earlier this year with my mum and dad, again a family room! And the quality of the room was amazing and wouldn’t have thought we were staying in a spoons hotel!! 🥰 Bonus also, not far from London centre as we visited there one of the days we were down there! Picked up and Uber both ways and got discount because our first time using the app xx
Never stayed in Wetherspoons Hotel before, and I'll consider it on my next trip. Impressed they actually find someone to keep the outer windows clean. For a lot of hotels that I stayed and let you open the windows, you can find lots of spider webs at the corners, so I would rather keep the windows shut.
Wow I wasn’t expecting a room like that Tim. Seemed a bargain price that.. great video, never stayed in a weatherspoon before but impressed by that one. …..Smithy
Love the Wetherspoons Breakfasts in Lowestoft. I totally agree with Gaby about the pillows (one too low and two too high). We normally use Premier Inns and wondered what the Spoons room were like.
I remember years ago staying in The Globe hotel in King's Lynn and it was always really nice. 'Spoons get a lot of bad rep but other than aged furniture in the downstairs bar area it's overall a quality venue with some excellent quality toilets. Food isn't too bad either (other than their "toast" which is dry floppy heated bread!).
I'm sure that it's different nowadays but when I worked the doors in lynn back in the early 90s the globe and the maydens head the other side of the market place were a bit strange, lunch time full of business types eating scampi and chips and old ladies having shepherds pie. Come 9.00pm both of those venues turned into roadhouse, although probably more so the maydens head. The other thing about the globe is that a lot of famous actors stay there because of Lynn's historic buildings a lot of period films and television dramas are filmed there.
I tell you what, I’m really impressed. The room was huge and quite swanky too. I’d be more than happy to stay there. Plus handy sherbets 🍻 just downstairs 😂 That fish looked lovely but the chips anaemic 😂 Both of you chew fast I must say Edit…. The spoons in my town is called “The Leyland Lion” It’s in the old main post office but it’s got it’s name from a bus Leyland Motors used to build years ago.
Wow Look how clean everything is everywhere. Definitely nailed it, I've never stayed in one but have heard they are immaculate, tidy, spacious with friendly staff and very reasonable prices. Puts a lot of other hotels to shame.
We stayed in the Birmingham one, The Briar Rose. Right by new street station and had a great time - massive bed it was like 2 doubles pushed together. It's really nice that you get a separate entrance and exit too. Really recommend the wetherspoons hotels!

Omg I literally stayed in this very room at the end of September for a weekend with my boyfriend. I was really impressed with the hotel, much nicer than I expected. Hi Tim and Gaby. It looked really lovely. I never knew weatherspoons did hotels but if they are all like the one where you stay I wouldn't mind.
I was expecting a rather basic offering from a Wetherspoons' hotel but that room looked really nice. A good deal for £79. I'd certainly stay at one. Now if only their food was up to the standard of their hotel rooms...
lol
I dont mind their food, like was said you get what you pay for.
I have had very good food at Wetherspoons, even the curry
I stayed in London for a weekend a couple of years ago. The ONLY decent meal we found was in the Wetherspoons by London Bridge. Everywhere else we ate was crap- including the £60 a head (plus wine) restaurant in Covent Garden.
@@DM-it2ch The tourist traps are always shite. Best to find a decent little local pub for a proper hearty meal!
Love these hotel vlogs, and I like the way you don't run everything down, you state the good points
I visited my local spoons the other day. It was very busy, yet the food came really quickly. Very good service. Had worse from much poorer service from posher establishments.
Love the Troll Cart pub! Glad to see the Hotel is so awesome,. Will defo come for a stay! GY is amazing!
Most of weatherspoons buildings are spectacular.
Wow what a great place to stay. I love Great Yarmouth and now i know where I will be booking for the future.
Very a nice hotel your room was nice nice to see gaby with you Tim hope you liked it
Suggestion for Tim, in York theres a wetherspoons called The Postern Gate. It isn't a wetherspoons hotel. But it is on the ground floor and is joined on to and shares the same outdoor space as a travelodge. It's bang next to the ouse and overlooks the castle museum. might be worth checking out!
Thanks oliver
Wow excellent and fantastic sharing very nice place and mouthwatering tasty foods
Stayed in many spoons hotels, all of which have been spot on. The best I stayed in was in Great Malvern. Fab rooms, quiet, friendly staff too!
Gaby's hair and makeup for dinner was absolutely stunning ❤
Thanks for showing us a Wetherspoons hotel Tim. It looked comfortable and good value for what you paid. I tend to use Premier Inn when I go and visit friends around the UK and stay at one of those. I'll give Wetherspoons hotel a go next time instead!
Yes me too but now going to keep an eye out for these
We've had one in King's Lynn for over 20 years since they took over the old "globe hotel".
Love Wetherspoons they try to protect our heritage
Thanks for showing this Tim, really enjoying your vids
My pleasure
Oh something different great tour and date night
Nice video, hotel looked great and access to cheap meals in pub, good stuff.
I never even knew weatherspoon’s did hotels, But I would definitely stay in one looks great 👍
Its amazing and god bless them all.. Proves it can be done!
Great vlog Tim as ever, I stayed in the Wetherspoons hotel in Beccles & was really impressed. I had a double room which cost about £60 & the room was a better standard than Hotels that charge more than double that.
Definitely impressed by this. Exceptional location too, and not far to stagger back to bed after a few pints :D
Omg Gaby always looks beautiful but she looks stunning in this! Way too beautiful for a spoons dinner 🥰
No this has been open for years and upstairs uses to ne offices
@@WalkWithMeTim oh I see the pub always was a pub & the offices were converted into the Hotel part!
It certainly was a nice looking & interesting building on the inside!
I loved your family corner room & all those windows.
If I ever get to Great Yarmouth i might stay in your Wetherspoons!
Looks quite good, I love Great Yarmouth anyway.
I would never considered a Spoons hotel but after seeing this will definitely give them a try great content thank you!
Brilliant! Good on you, Tim!
:-)
We have stayed in the 'Spoons' in Monmouth. A VERY old building. Room was much smaller than yours but had everything in it. Far more than a Premier Inn. Bathroom was a good size. The only problem was the drains were a tad 'niffy'. Not sure why that was as it was all very clean. The food was the standard fare served up throughout the Country. Steaks can be hit and miss. I would definitely stay in one of their pubs again. Decent quality and good value.
Wow... nice place... so comfy... thanks for sharing this with us... OMG fish and chips... love it! Have fun... be blessed!
Thank you too
I sound like a proper fanboy Tim but your video's are awe inspiring. Shot in such a professional way and in 4K, not to mention how informative they always are... It's like you have a massive production team behind you. I watch everyone and will continue to do so. I hope 2023 will be massive for you and Gaby on this channel! Happy Christmas everyone! ❤❤
That's so kind, a lot of hard work does go into the videos so getting comments like this means alot . Thank you
I stay in the Hop Pole in Tewksbury . Which is a wonderful old pub with beautiful rooms.....highly recommended....The wetherspoon Hotel in Thirsk is also superb!!!!!
Wow wasn't expecting a Wetherspoons hotel to look that good, that's very impressive and for just £79 too.
I wonder what the hotels are like in the older Spoons where a hotel has been retrofitted in unlike your purpose built one.
Yes it's the older ones I m curious about but this one is definitely good value. Standards higher than I expected
@@juliet7703 regardless of the age of the building, the rooms are very clean and modern.
@@juliet7703 yes this is a new one so it’s going to look good, so wondering about an older building that’s been converted
Good question!
@@WalkWithMeTim yes the one you reviewed is clearly new build where as a lot of spoons are often in very old buildings such as old cinemas etc so I can imagine it wouldn’t quite be the same as yours
Stayed in a Wetherspoons in Barrow-In-Furness (Double Room), it was massive! Spotless too and even the bathroom was lovely.
Well that room looked pretty decent plenty of space. Gaby you looked lovely hope you enjoyed your night out how lovely for you both. Holly is a good girl looking after her brother. So nice to see. Merry Christmas all. 😊
thanks tracy , merry Christmas
Stayed at the one in Harwich.. The bottle kiln.. Absolutely lovely place, really big clean rooms, on site parking and yep, the spoons brekkie..
It looks quite nice to be honest the decor seems nicer than a Premier Inn I think personally, I would stay in one but not Yarmouth :) Thank you again Tim and Gaby
thanks Mel
Hi Tim and Gabby we stay at the troll cart in great Yarmouth when the horse racing meetings are on and they are fantastic. We have stopped at loads of Wetherspoon's hotels and I must admit I wouldnt stay any where else they are good value for money, always clean and very comfortable 10 out of 10. Kim and Geoff xxx
I don't think anyone could possibly find a fault with that room. Very cozy indeed.
Agree
I stayed in Northolt Wetherspoons hotel near London earlier this year with my mum and dad, again a family room! And the quality of the room was amazing and wouldn’t have thought we were staying in a spoons hotel!! 🥰 Bonus also, not far from London centre as we visited there one of the days we were down there! Picked up and Uber both ways and got discount because our first time using the app xx
Oh wow that's Beautiful didn't realize it was a hotel been in the pub a few times
…..Smithy
Cheers Tim, and a wishing a very merry Christmas to you and your family 🎅
thanks Tony and to you
Love the Wetherspoons Breakfasts in Lowestoft.
Yes, I stayed in the same hotel. First time in a 'spoons hotel, and I was impressed at the value. would definitely stay in one again.
Looks nice, a very premier inn style room. Merry Christmas and look forward to seeing more good stuff in 2023
Thanks, you too!
I tell you what, I’m really impressed. The room was huge and quite swanky too. I’d be more than happy to stay there. Plus handy sherbets 🍻 just downstairs 😂
That fish looked lovely but the chips anaemic 😂
Both of you chew fast I must say
Edit…. The spoons in my town is called “The Leyland Lion”
It’s in the old main post office but it’s got it’s name from a bus Leyland Motors used to build years ago.
Looks very nice, thanks for sharing.
Another excellent Video as always Tim. Wishing You,Gaby & Casper a very Happy Christmas 🎅
Thanks Jonathan, Merry Christmas
Great video more important your little wee fella is so cute bless him.
Yes, thank you
I stopped in the Tewkesbury one, was well shocked. The pub certainly didnt reflect the quality of the rooms.
I know! lol
This place looks really nice! Beautiful big windows and I love the styling!
A very merry Christmas to you all from Wellington Somerset
and to you David
Wow
Look how clean everything is everywhere.
Definitely nailed it, I've never stayed in one but have heard they are immaculate, tidy, spacious with friendly staff and very reasonable prices.
Puts a lot of other hotels to shame.
Gaby looks stunning! :-)
Stayed in Cambourne Cornwall during a Covid "break." Absolutely brilliant. Massive room and great features. Brillian value and very smart indeed.
Locked doors and lots of CCTV - everything that is wrong with hotels today
We stayed in the Birmingham one, The Briar Rose. Right by new street station and had a great time - massive bed it was like 2 doubles pushed together. It's really nice that you get a separate entrance and exit too. Really recommend the wetherspoons hotels!
WOW well impressed with this accommodation Tim 👍 never knew Wetherspoons offered rooms, great vlog as always 🌲♥️👍 a very happy Christmas to you and the family Tim and thank you for another great year of tremendous vlogs.
thanks Stephen
Glad you and Gabbie had a great stay away, Tim. Excellent vid. I live about a two minute walk from Jolly’s Hotel in Broughty Ferry. Often have breaky in there.
Great video thanks for sharing 👍. Wasn't sure about using Wetherspoons as an hotel but you have convinced me will certainly give it a try now. Thank you so much.
Glad it was helpful!
I reckon that this particular hotel looks a very ideal place for a stay. Everything looks clean and well designed, especially in the suite you were staying at. The meals looked good, too. Thanks for the showing of this video.
So pleased to view this video as i was unaware that Weatherspoons done Hotels. Shall Definitely look into their locations 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 🍻
Omg I literally stayed in this very room at the end of September for a weekend with my boyfriend. I was really impressed with the hotel, much nicer than I expected. When we stayed the lift wasn't working which was the only downside but otherwise a lovely hotel. Would definitely recommend. Such good value for money.
It's so good!
Stayed in the ones in Whitby and Dunfermline. Both very good value and clean/comfortable!
Awesome video, as always.
Thanks again!
Looks fantastic, I didn't know that Wetherspoons did hotels!
