Which guitar would you have picked? Did I make a good choice?
Yup, I’d have picked that one too. Been looking for a P90 guitar for a while. 🤘🏼👍🏼
I would have picked either that or the Melody Maker hanging up.
It is a good guitar, but in the end, it’s YOUR opinion and your opinion only that matters in the end.🫡🎸
the ukulele lol
If money wasn’t a factor, I’d be all over the Gretsch. Need a semi-hollow guitar.
I love pulling down guitars and tuning them up, it tells you half what you need to know before you play a a chord.
As soon as you play them acoustic you can tell!
A lesson I constantly remember my guitar teacher telling me...always tune up before playing or jamming
wait why?
@@joemiller9522 you get a more accurate in tune note when u tune up instead of down. so if you’re sharp, down tune, then tune up.
@joemiller9522 specifically this has to do with the strings catching on the nut when you tune down, which can give you a false impression that they're tuned properly but start playing and they'll slip into place and your tuning is lost.
There could be more to it to do with tension mechanics but that's one reason I can remember right now.
That's awesome giving those kids band a plug, nice LP pickup!
It takes Tyler twice as long to walk anywhere as most people, because he walks to an area, sets a camera up, then goes back and walks past it, and then goes back to get the camera, rinse and repeat. So worth the effort!
Or his travelling companion gets the shot and they keep walking. This isn't Survivor Man. 😅
At least the mall music he puts over the top is trash
Dude what you’ve chosen to do with your platform and success is incredible and inspiring. Thanks for everything you do man. You deserve every ounce of success in the world.
He's good at youtube, not so much at music unfortunately.
@@blindsidedka Anyone who talks down other peoples ability is trash.
@@blindsidedka Bro have you watched a single video of his? He is a pretty good guitarists sir..
@@LegoBeachtrooper He's the epitome of guitar mediocrity culture feeding the 'buy expensive gear and jerk yourself off on the internet instead of actually learning the instrument' crowd, a proficient player but devoid of any feel or substance, rips off the berklee guitar syllabus wholesale and sells it as 'guitar super system'...
Even worse, he releases his debut EP, Nashville Noises, and it becomes very fucking clear that this guy can’t tell a good sound from his amp to his asshole. He is a tremendous example of everything wrong with the internet community of guitarists, where everything is over-theorized and consensus about how to play and learn have been formed by people who may or may not be able to back up those theories. “Have Heart” is a prime example. You have these youtube instructors preaching learning the fretboard and being able to apply all this advanced theory to improve your songwriting, improv, and understanding, but then that same guy writes “Have Heart” which is just another 3 chord loop, the same as every other rock song in history and doesn’t require any type of guitar super system, and to make it worse, that song was recorded with not 1, not 2, but 3 Berklee grads at a professional studio.
who are you talking to? He's not here and he dont care about your comment, its a money thing. get smart
I went to Berklee in the late 70's, graduated, but have never been back to Boston. Beautiful town and glad to see some things are still the same. I recognized it in a heartbeat. Thanks for the intro!
Such an amazing video! The scenes at the beginning, your great playing, meeting the band, cool shop and you go home with a great guitar. Perfect day! Thanks for sharing it with us!
Pretty cool that he plugged the kid's band!
Very cool of you giving that band a shoutout. They sounded great :)
Great to see you in my neck of the woods.
I'm just a few miles south of the store.
I agree, that the LP Jr. did have the best sound of everything you demo'd in the store.
Kudos to you for plugging the young'uns too! (I'm 63, so you're all young'uns to me. LOL!)
Getting recognition is so hard these days, regardless of talent.👍👍👍
Hope you enjoy the hell out of that guitar!
Sad to hear the news of Tom. He was a man who helped many musicians create beauty in this world.
I picked up a Junior a while back and it instantly became my #1 for gigging. So simple with excellent lead tones and works great for rhythm when you roll the tone off a bit.
I have 3 juniors and a les pul with p90s aswell. Pretty nice guitars . I’m sliding back to humbuckers now though, for recording I kinda prefer the humbuckers sometimes. But p90s have better clarity overall usually. Though the Gibson classic 57 pickups Iv noticed sound p90 ish and fairly midrangey and flat
Awesome scenes of Boston well done thanks !
Love the content been my favorite creator for years keep it up
I love the Ultra Tele. I had the Texas Tea version, but it was stolen. I've been wanting to replace it with the all white for a while, and finally went to do so yesterday. Of course, a Sherwood green Strat with all-rosewood neck caught my eye, though, so I had to go with that. Next time. The Gretsch T500 and LP Junior you played sounded amazing, too!
oh wow i live 20 minute walk from that store. i bought my epiphone les paul there last month.. i just turned 50 .. your videos inspired me to play.. so i got the best one i can afford and i love it. you are a great teacher .thanks for all your hard work
Great guitar man love it when you come to Boston Tom is very much missed
Dude, that was cool! Digging vibe check. Great kids.
Your video's put a smile on my face. Love it that you dont take your selves so serious.
Wish I knew you were in Boston! Hope you enjoyed the city!
yo man i love ur vids so much and im trying to get a normal electric guitar to continue my guitar dream and ur vids inspire me to keep going with that dream and i just wanna say thx man
I loved the travel montage at the beginning. I've never seen Boston. I was so surprised to see how much it looked like Melbourne, Australia, even down to the trams.
Now if only I had the budget to have this kind of shopping trip.
excellent choice!
Love Mr. Music in Allston. Nice guys. Bought a Rick330 there in 1986 but missed out on buying a vintage Mosrite .
I had that exact kind of model before, gibson junior 2015 100th aniv. I love the simplicity, the tone and wider neck.
Intro gives me mad Ferris Bulers Day off walking-through-the-museum--vibes
Ugliest photo of me in the thumbnail lmao
Thx for the shoutout tho!
@@willbarsam2202 it's okay Will ur always ugly
First guitar I noticed hanging on the wall behind you! Great buy.
Super cool store and awesome peeps to chat with. Like the culture immersion type video.
Mister Music in Boston is a great store. Glad to see you made it there. Also, great choice of guitar
Great intro track, reminds me of The Mighty Way - Come back
That Gretsch must be rare! Only Gretsch Ive seen with a Guild headstock and tremolo.
If i could choose one UA-cam channel to post more vídeos a weak, i would be yours. Your content is the absolute best, it inspires me so much. Thank you!
ohh loving memories of boston and my berklee days more than 20 years ago. Cambridge music store right down the corner allways had great used guitars. I wonder if still there.
Yooo Mr Music! Yes!
If your were going for an eighties music video vibe on the intro then you nailed it. Mating season move was hilarious!
That les paul really is special the way it can handle dirt and then clean up is really amazing nice pick Tyler
bought my first three singlecoil guitar the other day, normally I have humbuckers. some are HSS. It is a partscaster. It was a steal. walked away grinning.
Good job on plugging that band🎉
0:35 There is a ghost to the bottom right hand corner of the screen, its brilliant.
Great choice!! You won’t regret it 👍🏼
Nice choice. Cool that he restrung it.
“Big Deck Energy” in the intro 😂
That ‘55 Chet Atkins Gretsch 😍 Wowzer !!!! ❤❤❤
Crazy how similar the Jeff beck strat and Squier sounded. Yeah the Squier was a little muffled but close
i wasnt paying attention and didnt realise he changed guitars.
Yeah, I wasn't looking at first and thought he turned the tone knob a bit.
Just goes to show it’s the pick ups and the pick ups only that determine the quality of the tone. Sustain is affected by the wood type, though.
I love my Squire Affinity Tele. The only significant sacrifice is that the pickups aren’t super clear, though they sound nice. The Chinese poplar body is a little softer than alder, so it dings up easily, but it’s pretty and the finish is well done. Also, I guess they save money by not doing much finishing on the neck. It still feels good in the hand, it’s just a raw wood feel rather than gloss or satin.
Probably can change pots and make it brighter
I just bought a SRV strat there couple weeks ago great store!
“There’s no best guitar in the world, there is only the best guitar that suits YOU🎸”
I’m pretty sure it’s original
Excellent John Hughes vibes on the intro! 😂
Miss Boston, one of my favourite city😄
As soon as you picked up the Junior I knew. Awesome guitars. Great price too
Love seeing and hearing the Gretsch guitars. The sound of a Gretsch hollowbody is really not like any other sound out there.
That Chet was the nicest guitar in there. It's a dream guitar i wish i could own.
I played a Gretsch once and it was so dull and lifeless I must have picked up a weird model or lemon. Iv heard a few that sound decent online. But I was so turned off I never bothered with that brand again lol
The Gretsch’s were the sweetest!
Nice choice on the Junior 👍 What amp were you playing through with that? Sounded massive.
Thank you for what you've been doing for guitar community, Tyler
I should try that
Jerry Raney of the Beat Farmers plays a Les Paul Jr. and rocks the heck out of it.
Cool part about that intro is you could walk to every spot in about 3-4 hours and take the T back to where you started.
Good choice
There's always something about one pup's guitar
Is that Mr. Music?? I haven't been there since I moved from Brighton.
There's always at least one killer item for everyone there, you just gotta sift through for it.
it definitely is!
So if you're in Boston, are you doing a nationwide guitar tour again?
perfect timing

the way he’s walking around in that intro could change his last name to durden and no one would flinch😮💨
Curious as to which one the (wife?) thought you were gonna pick.. lpj is a great choice. I commented in your last short that I’ve been obsessed with mine lately. It really makes you a better player
Welcome to Boston Tyler ! My hometown!!!
@@XOTeIegmMusic_IsWin-ew4mm I appreciate that Brother. I sent you a message. If this your first trip to Beantown there is a lot to see and do. Lots of history and great restaurants here. If you’re looking for any recommendations let me know.
Never been this early..3 views..Tyler..i bought a prs s2 singlecut..all because i started watching u 6 years ago..and always wanted one!
i really like how it sounds
May 25th was this video, your wedding anniversary with Bethany and my birthday
You can Visit Joe Stump in Boston 🤘🤘🤘
Dude I live near Boston and I was actually eyeing that exact LP Jr for a while because it just looked awesome, and recently noticed it wasn't on their site anymore. You stole my guitar! 😆
was that away from the mire by Billy Strings? on the Gretsch @3:05
maybe im trippin but it sounds so similar and ive never seen tyler make a billy strings vid which he should
im from the uk i visited boston so strange to see you in places ive been
I hope those kids won. That’s awesome
🙏
That bullet strat sounded good honestly
I like that one because it's like an SD in a Paul Gibson format
The Gretsch sounded way meaner than I expected, but I thiink you picked the right guitar. That single PUP Gibson had all the crunchy goodness!
That red Gretsch had so much depth. You could swim in that tone.
I've spent a small fortune there over the years. Great shop!
The older I get, the simpler I like my guitars…to me, thats rock-n-roll👍
That Gretsch 5120 sound makes me want to go grab one!
You really should take a look at Céleste guitars ! Those are french made guitars. I think the first one came out last year, it's the Céleste MCI. Looks really nice et sounds so good ! really versatile too. It's made by the french youtuber Florent Garcia in collaboration with a talented luthier
I love that shop. I used to live in walking distance of it and dropped a painful amount of money there lol
Those bass ukulele's sound sick through a muff🙏
Hey mate, I'm an Australian and been following you're channel for quite a while, been an average guitarist for some 30 years and recently suffered a horrible injury to my left(fretting)hand where I've lost the last knuckle of my ring finger, wondering if you know of any other prosthetic for guitarist's other than Galaxy guitars in the states?
God I love Boston so much this video is fucking killer
Greatest city in the States.
I love this place. I bought 3 units there
That Tele is sick
Dang you were in my city!
Hey Tyler! Have you ever thought of buying a Strat with a humbucker in the middle? The only one I ever saw in a video was in the hands of David Knopfler in 1979 when he was in Dire Straits
Goin home in almost June with the June bug!
That Chet is a beauty
smaller guitar stores are just a dying business sadly 😫😫
Best shop on east coast for sure
What’s the hop? I just have missed it. 900 for a junior is cheap.
Dude. I just left Boston 😂 driving back to Chicago right now. I was at almost every place in the beginning lol
I like walking into guitar stores and giving off the impression I actually can afford a specific guitar, but just don’t want it, when I actually really want it but can’t afford it. We need to cross paths in a guitar store Tyler
I just went to Boston a few weeks ago for a school thing and at quincy market there were some amazing musicians including my boi B.Swan (Black Swan) he freestyled about our whole class he was crazy.
Single pickup guitars rule! They pretty consistently sound awesome. Part of that may be due to subconsciously moving your hand to the location where the guitar sounds best for what you're playing. The other part is that there's no phasing with other pickups in the circuit, even when they're off.
Tyler I have a challenge for you. Common theme across music CCs atm is learning polyphia riffs. Fully aware people will get sick of the repetition HOWEVER… I would like to see you learn the opening riff to Nasty. I just don’t understand how Tim gets the sounds that he does.
Objects of desire!
I bought me a gretsch semi hallow body for my birthday this year! Best present I’ve ever received!
