Yep, losing a rod and reel sure hurts. I can remember losing three in the last 20 years. One was when a bass hit it so hard so quick he jerked it right out of my hand. I don't troll with crank baits, but it has been amusing to watch your video of that technique! Thumbs up!

Im sure i have well over 100 of Fred's custom crappie cranks and they have served me and a good friend of mine bobby as well they dive just a little deeper than a 300 bandit , and MR Fred is some kinda tallent
Those Warthogs do fly overs here at Pomme de Terre a couple of times a week. There's no mistaking their sound.

There’s tons of videos out on this based on what graphs you have etc. Mike uses hummingbird which links with his Minn kota trolling motor and remote. This won’t work if you have Garmin graphs and Minn kota or motor guide trolling motor. Get the graphs that match your ipilot trolling motor and it’s pretty simple

@@scottjordon unfortunately no. I have Garmin graphs and an ultrex as well. You can easily drop a start and stop waypoint and just position your ultrex to run towards the end waypoint. Use the N button on the controller. Works pretty much the same as following a track. Maybe not as precise but close enough for trolling
@@charlieweems6094well Charlie I think you should watch Mr. Baker’s new video because the graph is ONLY for making the waypoint to show you where you start from and end and the Ultrex which is what I have does the rest and being connected to the graph has nothing to do with it….😊

Watched your videos for the first time last week. Always loved crappie fishing but it was always spring and fall with minnow under bobbers. I tried trolling yesterday and got 20 keepers in a short time. Definitely hooked on trolling.

When I was trolling cranks on Pomme and got hung up I just got my lure retriever out and always got them back.

Are crank baits more effective than just a small paddle tail swim bait on a jig head? It wouldn’t hurt my feelings near as much to lose them

When trolling with crankbaits, do you attach the snap swivel to the split ring? Or do you take the split ring off? I’m just getting into trolling and trying to learn. Thx
