    In this video I put my crankbait techniques to the test on the upper end of Lake of the Ozarks. I caught a nice limit of crappie in short order.

    I really enjoy your videos because of your videos I started to troll for crappie on the LOZ 3 years ago. I’m definitely going to get some splatter back I do not have any of them. Sunday the 23 of May we went trolling it seemed the better fish where in 40’+ water popsicle was the color of choice it beat wild thing, chrome blue, and some others I cannot think of the names. Keep up the good work you do! Now to watch your video before this one I did not get notified from UA-cam

    Earned a subscriber here! Bandit discontinued my favorite splatter back color several years ago and luckily I still had some I found on ebay. I was able to paint some of my other non producing colors to get them close. Once you have colors that consistently produce you need to buy a good stock of them just in case that color gets dropped lol

    Mike, love the videos and I now watch them as soon as they are uploaded. I have a question.. I live in Virginia near some more shallow reservoirs and was wondering if I`d be better perhaps going to Bandit 100 or 200`s due to the shallower water?

    I've learned more about crappie fishing the Ozarks from your channel than probably anywhere else Mike. I truly thank you for putting out the effort it takes to make these. Do you think Table Rock is good for trolling crankbaits? I catch crappie other ways here but have never tried trolling crankbaits. There is quite a bit of timber around most of the places I fish for crappie. I'm sure its doable just wondering if its something you would recommend. Also- post spawn the best time or is it something I could do throughout the summer etc? Thanks again!

    • @MikeBakerVideos
      @MikeBakerVideos  3 роки тому +1

      I have never pulled crank baits on Table Rock but I am sure you can. I would certainly give it a try. You are going to lose some baits in the timber but that is just part of it. I troll on Truman and it is full of timber. As far as when, the hotter the water gets the better.

  • @SetMiner
    @SetMiner 3 роки тому

    Mike, I really enjoyed the video, you should try it on the James arm of Table Rock. I lived on LOZ around the 75mm for years and caught tons of large catfish drifting Santee Cooper style(all large ones released). Never thought to crank for Crappie. What mm were you at I didn't recognize the creek arm?

    How much do you vary your speed? If you do, what determines your choice of speed other than trial and error? I saw at the beginning of the video that you listed 1.6 mph. I haven't tried crankbait trolling for crappies but plan to soon.

    • @MikeBakerVideos
      @MikeBakerVideos  2 роки тому

      1.6 is my confidence speed. I start there. I will make turns and that will speed up the outside baits and slow down the inside baits. If I get hit on a turn I pay attention to whether the bait was running faster or slower and adjust accordingly. If the turns don't generate a strike, I just experiment with different speeds until hopefully I find one that works.
