@@michellerodriguez2597 Really? That’s so cool, shows are finally coming back. Ill never forget the time I ran into Robert in the parking structure of Disneyland lol He’s such a cool guy!!
I remember waking up getting ready for school in 2003 and the first thing I saw on mtv was this video. I was just in 7th grade. Went to walmart after school and bought the album. Unforgettable
That's hilarious. I was getting ready for work one morning and I heard this for the first time and immediately went out snd bought it. Looks like MTv got them 2 sales
The Beatlesque harmonies, the busy rhythms, the lovely SoCal melody, this has ELO written all over it, specifically "Mister Blue Sky." And yet this wonderful single stands all on its own.
I first heard this song in 2004 when I got the game Tiger Woods Golf for the Playstation 2. And when I looked up the soundtrack and found the name of band and song, I've been hooked. Been a fan ever since. Been on my phone ever since.
14 years. I heard it a couple of times (the most remembered was during a music department trip to Disney World) and was hooked by the chord structure in the chorus. Yet every time I tried to describe it to someone in order to figure out the song, I just kept getting crazy looks and no answers.

I was watching Princess diaries and in one of the scenes a dude played the guitar solo for this song and I remembered loving this song when I was younger... I just couldn't remember where I heard it or what it was. It took me forever to find this 🤩
This song played at the end of a movie called Not An Artist. It starred RZA and Michael was also in a film in a smaller role. The credits roll over Michael jamming out to this song, and it was such a great moment!
Ohhhh that guitar tone, reminiscent of 70s greats like Leslie West of Mountain. Many of the 70s guitarists played through their amps this way, Magic!!!🌈
I loved this band when I was a teenager. This first album was really catchy and fun, a great debut. I haven't liked anything else they've put out though. I feel like they took steps backwards with their future releases. They went from a poppy rock band to something more akin to straight up Jonas Brothers.
@@WaitingForTheHook Their record Belly Button too ... Also a band called Redd Kross.. a good starting place would be their album Pitchshifter .. Jellyfish was influenced a lot by those guys.
Holy moly! I've been trying to find this song for like 15 years! I'd heard it one day while home sick and liked it, but could not remember the name of the band, or any of the words. I thought it was The Thrills, who it turns out are very similar and had beach themed songs and videos. I just knew how the music of the chorus went. I heard it again a couple years later waking into a Dicks sporting goods, but they had no playlist of the piped in music. I finally just now went through a list of the top 200 songs of 2003 and started watching vids of each song, starting at #200, luckily it #197! Such a great tune. I can die happy now :)
Whose still here in 2023? I miss these days so much. if you were an indie/emo kid in the early 2000s, you’re a real one 🖤
Where did 11 years go??
i just got into them this year. i wish i knew about them earlier 🥺
Me too! They’re playing at the troubadour in December in LA ❤️🥺

Where ever you struggle on the country of the kind of thing you journey upon this big big video. Just let us know.
This is how I found them too!
I remember seeing promos for this album and an alkaline trio album, bought both of them on the same trip to the CD store

What are you taking about there was on Drake and Josh
I remember hearing this so much in Tiger Woods 04 and loving it
Yep! Those were great days
Tiger Woods PGA tour 2004 brought me here, but the body dump mid way through kept me here!
The Beatlesque harmonies, the busy rhythms, the lovely SoCal melody, this has ELO written all over it, specifically "Mister Blue Sky." And yet this wonderful single stands all on its own.
Don't forget Klaatu 😊
Literally so Beetlesque
def going for more beach boys, but both bands admired each others sound.
Nah, totally Beach Boys, not Beatles. This wouldn't have been out of place on _Pet Sounds_ .
This comment aged very well I just heard they are opening for ELO on the upcoming tour
I loved that retro vibe from the early 2000s bands like Jet, Rooney, Canal Magdalena ...
Phantom Planet, The Strokes, The White Stripes, The Hives, The Vines, The Sums 😁👌👍
Don't forget The Darkness and Kings of Leon.

Does rooney provide the soundtrack to anybody else's life? Or is it just me?

Man right when I was younger I thought Drake Bell sung this song so happy I found the real artists
The Harmonies on these guys are incredible!
if youre listening to Rooney in 2022 you're probably old enough to remember when MTV played music videos 🔥
This song never gets old .
Just saw them at ELO's over and out tour. Great to hear them again. Love hearing them 🎉
I remember Rooney with their tune, Blueside in 2003 as I watched VH-1. Today, MTV and VH-1 is garbage and they don't play music videos no more.
Tiger woods PGA tour 2004😍
You're not alone brother ❤️❤️
I have the sudden urge to binge watch The O.C. now..
'Bends' era Radiohead meets 'Pet Sounds' era Beach Boys. What's not to like? But why no more like it?
Michael Moscovitz from The Princess Diaries plays this song with his band Flypaper.
Damn, yes! The song I've been searching since 7 years!
Love it when that happens

Tiger woods 2004.ps 2 best golf game ever!!!! First time I heard of this song and the band Rooney.
The colors have built up in my mind
They're bleeding through my heart
But nobody knows that they exist
Look at my bursting veins
Now do you see the red in me
It's a sign for the end
Only the ends of the red
Will show you my blueside
Only the ends of the red
Will show you my blueside
I've been given my brush and plate
Where will I paint my life
And will the buyer in the sky
Believe in what I dream
And it's so hard for me to explain
What I will miss to myself
Only the ends of the red
Will show you my blueside
Only the ends of the red
Only the ends of the red
Will show you my blueside
Only the ends of the red
Will show you my blueside

agree my good sir!
Omg, it just made me thinking of my teenage life in Oregon+California.. How I miss then..! Good old days
There are few songs that you can call groovy without sounding like a stoner. This is one of those songs.
That parallel minor\major shift between verse and chorus is so satisfying

Got introduced to this band from Jeff Lynne's ELO Over and Out tour. Instantly became a fan when they opened with this banger.
I remember Summer 2003 when there was a commercial on Fuse for Rooney’s album featuring this song. And then they appeared on an episode of The O.C.
it's 2015 and this is still one of my favorite songs. :)
A decade later and I still love this song.
If you listen to the harmonies they are kinda like the The Beach Boys of the early 2000s 😎
