Humans, when in full satisfaction mode, often become super confident and take unnecessary and meaningless risks. If the person you are with has potential chances of taking advantage and getting away with it, and they are aware of their systemic advantage within the civilization, then it is a risk that can only be taken once in a lifetime, as after that you would not be in the condition to take second-chance risks like that.
What i believe about X is that she is a money digger. She started off with stealing money in reception. As a cricket lover, i admired what Tim brought to Australian team after the storms of Sand paper gate. One would have assumed a nosedive into the abyss but Tim lead the team well and got the results his way. CA should never forget the what he did in difficult times during which he was at helm.

Whoever X is clearly wasn't happy that Tim Paine got the all-clear from Cricket Australia. And if Paine's wife was willing to forgive him despite the forward texts, I am inclined to believe that Tim Paine is very much a victim here, a part perpetrator maybe, but a victim nonetheless. The women in recent history using the notion of sexual harassment to often ruin the careers of good, honest and talented men is frankly sickening, but what is worse is that the majority of the public is unwilling to defend the man in question either. I remember when I read about Tim Paine resigning and the reason behind it, I was furious. Because here was a man, who had been cleared of everything legally, once forced into exile, all because the people thought the woman must be right. I just hope Tim Paine gets the court judgement in his favor and move on with his life as a clean slate.
Ok, so let’s assume X is lying and doesn’t feel harassed. This makes sense to file a court case because at the time of the theft charges, if she accused Tim Paine, then some of CA’s focus might be shifted from her to him, so she could get away with the case.
Now let’s assume X is saying the truth. This is also possible, but it is a bit odd that she reveals this right around the time when she is getting charged. I agree with you when you said that it is a bit weird that she reveals this four years after. how we all judge someone without knowing the complete details is disastrous, this video clarified many things for me. It changed my attitude towards Tim Paine.
Form my perspective I think Tum Paine deserves a second chance... already the public court has proved Tim guilty while we don't know whether he did such actions of harrassments or not...even Steven Smith and Warner had given punishment of 1 year for the ball scandal...so tim Paine should make his comeback into the team as soon as possible...and if it doesn't happens we might get to hear the news of tim Paine 's retirement very soon...
