    Was hoping for a lake Conasauga shot. Haven't been up there in 50 years. Good stuff.

      This was a very old video.... One of my first time exploring the Cohutta. I didn't even know about Lake Conasauga. After I found out about it, I've spent alot of time up there. It is stunning.
      In this video, I shot some at Lake Conasauga. The whole adventure video is really cool but if you only wanted to see Lake Conasauga, jump to 16:53

      Thank you Christopher. I’ve seen some messy campsites but this one was disgusting. Diapers everywhere. I couldn’t believe that even a “non caring” person would just walk out like that. 🤦🏼
      It’s such a beautiful dispersed place.

    It also pisses me off when I find garbage in the woods… been thinking about making a trailer just to hall the trash out. There’s quite a few large dump spots that I want to clean up. But it’s years of trash. I set up hunting cams to catch them but nothing new in a few weeks. Unless they found a new dump spot I haven’t come across yet… glad to see you’re up n getting better. Sorry to hear you had covid.

    Nice! We're looking at getting a place on a development adjoining the Cohutta wilderness area. Looks nice! The trash really IS disgusting!

    If I could "double like" for picking up someone else's trash I would. Thank you! I travel with a handful of grocery bags just for that purpose. Usually it's beer cans off the road. Saw your comment below on the music so I won't mention that. I'd try to keep future videos under 10 minutes, that's my "justification limit" for watching most. Haven't spent any time in Cohutta, we're still only year 4 discovering the national forest east of Clayton. While much smaller, it's still beautiful and seems as remote. Keep up the good work and Jeep on!

      Thank you Ken for your compliments (and "constructive criticism"). When I shot and edited this video, I was NEW to UA-cam and was editing with FREE generic music I found online. Over time, I became more serious about my content and my channel and I'm always learning from great people who give feedback (like you).
      I have sense opened up a music subscription so now my background music isn't so "cheesy". It's more intentional and plays into the content of the video. If you watch some of my newer videos, you can see how I have began to adjust my video content.
      Also, I am learning about my video length (like you said), trying to keep the play time down. In one of my recent videos, The Georgia Traverse, I tested this theory out. The original 4 day video became over 1hr long and I was asked by several viewers to split the 4 day video into 4 smaller individual videos. I am still collecting insight and data evaluating this collection of videos.
      I have another overlanding trip coming up in about 2 weeks. This will be a 3 day trip I will be filming. I hope you subscribe and watch this video as well... Your comments are very helpful to me and help me better my channel.

      If you ever get a chance, take the day (or weekend ) and just dive and explore. There’s 40,000 acres of wilderness, waterfalls, rivers, dispersed camping and small lakes. And hopefully you’ll get to see some black bears

    Couple of comments. First, you do a great job with your videos. You seem to know exactly when to do a exterior shot of the Jeep or to switch from a windshield view to the low outside view when driving . Perfect example in this video is when you said, "Wonder what's down that road" then the video immediately cuts to the Jeep turning left and driving down that trail. You also seem to mix just the right amount of talking, driving and looking at scenery, creeks, waterfalls etc. The only negative I've found which someone else mentioned in the comments is the volume change between the music and your talking. Wish that was balanced a little better. Otherwise, I like your off-road videos better than any other I watch; and I watch a good bit of them.
    One other thing which comes from this video directly. I'm 100% with you when it comes to trash in the wilderness especially at nice campsites. I've found that it's usually the locals rather than off-roaders who trash the nice sites. One thing that would concern me when going to a site like that to camp is you never know when a bunch of rowdy drunk rednecks will show up and ruin your experience (or worse; think Deliverance). I learned in my hiking days to try not to camp at any sites like that that are easily accessible or near to roads. Along the Appalachian Trail there are people who hate hikers because some of their family land was taken years ago to make the trail. Anyway, keep up the good work. We all enjoy it immensely.

    Thank you for picking up someone else's trash from the campsite. It is a shame that the few are going to ruin it for the mass. What size and brand of tires are you running and would you buy them again?

    • @RoadRashOffRoad
      @RoadRashOffRoad  Рік тому +1

      You are right. It is a shame what people do to these campsites. I’ve seen to many closures because people don’t respect and tread lightly.
      My tires are 35” Kenda Klever MT. They have been GREAT tires. They have been very easy to balance / install, they have been very “sticky” when off road and needing them to be, I have been able to air down to 8-10 psi without issue (although I usually air down to 12-15 psi), and they are relatively inexpensive. I have had these over a year and rotate them every 6000 miles (rotating in the spare) and I would guess I’m not event halfway through tread usage. I feel I have another 1.5 years still.
      I would definitely buy these again.

      Yes. I would. Look up “Big Frog Loop”. It’s a 90 mile circle around the Cohutta. No need for 4 wheel drive here. It’s mostly well maintained forest roads and has some of the best scenery / views in north Georgia with nice waterfalls.
      Some good camping and hiking trails. Look up Jacks River Falls campground

    • @RoadRashOffRoad
      @RoadRashOffRoad  Рік тому

      @@joeponder9668 no passes necessary. It’s National Forest land so it’s open to the public. I have lots of videos on the Cohutta. It’s one of my favorite places.
      If you have a couple of days and would like to explore all of North Georgia, check out The Georgia Traverse. It passes through the Chattahoochee national forest, take a herd of wilderness, Blue Ridge Mountains, etc. It is a beautiful ride and you will see all of the most pretty places in North Georgia.
      We did this ride this past year and I shot a video on it. You can watch it here if you’d like.

      Thank you for the feedback. Yes, I would agree. As the channel was new and growing, I was using free background music to fill the video.
      Since the channel is growing steadily, I recognize this was a “lacking factor” in my content. I have recently made change to this and now pull music content from a paid service. Watch my new videos from the Georgia Traverse. I have been working to created better content and honestly like yours helps me creatively. I thank you.

    • @RoadRashOffRoad
      @RoadRashOffRoad  2 роки тому

      Thank you JH. I agree… the music stinks.
      This video is one of my first videos when I started the channel. I had no idea how to become a UA-camr or what was going to become of my channel. I was just filming for fun and putting in any non-copyright FREE songs I could find.
      As my channel grew, and my followers grew as well, I began to take my video editing more seriously. The first thing that needed to change was audio. If you notice in some of my new videos, the music is much more cinematic and goes along with the narration. That’s because I actually began paying for a subscription For background music.
      This is all because of great constructive criticism from viewers like you that help me to make my channel better. Thank you.
