So refreshing to hear music that hasn't been autotuned. I remember sneaking downstairs to watch this music vid on MTV (back when they actually played music videos).
Saw these guys sometime back in the 90s when they opened up for the Stones. Little Miss was their hit at the time. They sounded great. The one thing that stood out was the drummer. He was pounding them skins. I loved it!
if you like the drummer here, check out the full album "Pocket Full of Kryptonite", he has a few standout moments, especially in the tracks "Refrigerator Car" and "Shinbone Alley"
this group was so tite. this is on late night with some players, but think about it basically 3 piece party band great rhythm section, the guitarist was sick !, plus a frontman with a great voice and tons of energy I loved these guys, especially 'What Time is It?' funky and tight as hell. ;)
omg this group is freaken awesome i can't believe i went this long without knowing their name. heard the song a million times tho and each time never gets old, i can listen to this song another million times
I always liked the Spin Doctors! This performance was fabulous! It's amazing to me that Chris Barron had a paralyzed vocal cord like Cinderella's Tom Keifer. Like Tom he recovered bit it was a long road! Love this video ❤️.
@YuvalL It in fact is the original bassist. The original lineup remained together (from the band's inception) until 1994. And had since gotten back together in 2001.
I saw these cats about a year ago. I didn't know what to expect as I thought they might just go through the motions and potentially be washed up. Their first song of the night was 'what time is it' & they rocked- awesome live, very tight and put on a show and a half. I hope they start touring again- I will see them in a second.
You know I liked this group way back when they came out. The funny thing is the lyrics are not that great but it does make you feel happy watching this guy have fun doing his thing.
did the show's house band usually play along with the musical guests back then? the drummer, bass player, and paul schaffer are all playing for the whole song. i can't remember ever seeing that before. i wonder if they always did or if the spin doctors were just so cool they asked them to do it. that's awesome either way
Yeah, they're actually a very genuine and funky band with Hendrix influences and pop sensibilities. They kind of slipped out of the limelight after their debut Pocket Full of Kryptonite (with Two Princes), but their live album Homebelly Groove (1992) and their second studio album Turn It Upside Down (1994) are very solid and much in the same style. Highly recommended if you like this kind of stuff. After those, the group slowly fell apart, but I heard they've reunited recently.
@YuvalL I initially thought this too, but Spin Doctors are playing with a full house-band lineup, so you think the blonde haired bassist is the only one playing but the real bassist is hidden behind him!
@cbarrett34 Paul is a music machine. The 'Blues Brothers' hadPaul Shaffer for their Keyboardist. As you may or maynot know, The Blues Brothers were an all star group of musicians...headed up by the unlikely due of Dan Ackroyd and John Belushi. The amazing result was smoking hot stuff with the head men holding their own. John Belushi turned out to be a great blues singer, and Dan was accomplished enough at Harmonica, and vocals to pull off a legitimate musical effort that stands the test of time.
It's nice to hear somebody singing backup on this song for a change. They have backup vocals on 'What Time Is It' live, but nobody ever backs up Chris when he sings 'Little Miss' live. Wonder why that is? It's a bit thin sounding with just one vocal.
The lead singer always looks like he’s just psyched to be wherever he is. You have to appreciate that.
Well its been a whole lot happier since the bitch left town lol
Stoned
I watched this actual thing live as an English exchange student at UMASS
That guitarist had ass kicking tone and rhythm, well crafted solos.
Truly! Two princes is a shining example of a well crafted solo.
Excellent solo. Verbatim from the album.
Damn, Paul had the backing vocals nailed!!
I love when its clear that a band is having so much fun.. its feels so much more real and genuine.
You need to play a good song for it to be fun. A lot of bands have only bad songs so they are miserable on stage
Yeah it is like they are mates jamming and maybe after a bit of whatever but it is still really tight and sounds amazing! ❤
It’s unfortunate how awful they are other than this song
I've never seen Paul Shaffer so excited before! This version of the song is awesome, loved it!
I think its because the band from the tv show is playing together with them and just doing crazy stuff
One of the best jam bands of all time!
Oh My God!! I cant believe I found this.... I saw this LIVE on Letterman!!! Take me back man... take me back!!
Paul and Sid were rocking the house! Wow! What an electrifying performance!
One of the most natural sounding voices ever
So refreshing to hear music that hasn't been autotuned. I remember sneaking downstairs to watch this music vid on MTV (back when they actually played music videos).
love this track. Reminds me of happier times :)
Such a kickass band!! I saw them perform in Ocean City MD a few years back and they killed it!
One of the few great guitar players from my time.
17 and spin doctors is one of my favourite bands to listen to, seeing them again in 3 weeks, wish there were more bands like this today :)
these guys just had fun playing music. awesome stuff
Sping Doctors are great! And Paul Shaffer did a great job on the harmony!

The studio band and the SDs look like they're having a blast.
Such a great, rythym monster song! Always loved it.
omg this group is freaken awesome i can't believe i went this long without knowing their name. heard the song a million times tho and each time never gets old, i can listen to this song another million times
Love this band. Chris Barron, you rock dude. You all do.
Really awesome live sound!!! The singer really impresses me, more than I thought he would, truthfully.
Look how much fun they're having! It's been 20 years since a band rocked like that.
we passed 10 years ago
FUN FUN FUN! another example of how great 90s music was.
GOD AREN'T THEY FANTABULOUS!
One of my favorite songs from the 90's.
I always liked the Spin Doctors! This performance was fabulous! It's amazing to me that Chris Barron had a paralyzed vocal cord like Cinderella's Tom Keifer. Like Tom he recovered bit it was a long road! Love this video ❤️.
Just a great song and performance. Cant believe this was 18 yrs ago
this song reminds me of sweet home alabama - awesome!
Its the same chords
Great band awesome tune I sing this and think about my X Wife
Spin Doctors rocked! Only problem with that video's that the left audio channel is off.
Check and check.
This is the kinda fun I LOVE, turn it up and EVERYBODY PLAY LEAD.
Two Drummers=epicness.
Loved these dudes. I can smell the weed through my monitor. And the Patchouli Oil.
Just a great song
aha they are man - love this song!
Love this song reminds me of my X Wife Joyce L and Shannon and Beth. Scumbag people
Need a 1080p version of this. One that includes the left headphone haha.
go back to 1992 and you record it. be grateful it exists. or ask Dave to release it on his youtube channel :) I'm sure they have a better mix -
how can six people not like this it's phenomenal
Probably 6 of little miss can't be wrong's kinfolks.
@YuvalL It in fact is the original bassist. The original lineup remained together (from the band's inception) until 1994. And had since gotten back together in 2001.
My do I miss this band. D:
I just saw these guys at the Iowa state fair . Yakoff Smirnoff opened up for them !
Cool Video. I enjoyed it very much.
I can’t wait for Billy Strings to cover this.
lol..that's pretty funny..I could see him doing that ;)

Very tight performance...10/17/2020
Dang they look like they had a blast!
Here's to better times.
Love this version - without the f ' ing ads
I like this better than the official video!
One of the few '90s bands whose sound really holds up.
@Musicphreak35
There are two bass players at the same time, one slapping and the other playing half notes. You can see them both at 0:32
I found this video because of a Twitter tweet
@Musicphreak35 Absolutely it did, thumbs up for the tune. Rare piece to find.
You know I liked this group way back when they came out. The funny thing is the lyrics are not that great but it does make you feel happy watching this guy have fun doing his thing.
Paul Schaffer singing backup vocals! Awesome.
It takes one to know one, I guess you know them all!!
it didn't there still rockin live shows
it's the original bassist ( the black dude) and that's the incredible will lee on bass for the letterman show.... guy's a legend
@golyg: Nope, Spin Doctors bass player is in the back, next to the drummer. Will Lee is following Mark White's lines.
@sergerungomo. They are still touring they just did their 20th anniversary tour in the states.
did the show's house band usually play along with the musical guests back then? the drummer, bass player, and paul schaffer are all playing for the whole song. i can't remember ever seeing that before. i wonder if they always did or if the spin doctors were just so cool they asked them to do it. that's awesome either way
It's the David Letterman show in New York City.
where are the Spin Doctors now?
TIGHT TIGHT TIGHT
Yeah, they're actually a very genuine and funky band with Hendrix influences and pop sensibilities. @YuvalL Yes it is Mark White..I met him in Westchester Bash in Ohio
@YuvalL I initially thought this too, but Spin Doctors are playing with a full house-band lineup, so you think the blonde haired bassist is the only one playing but the real bassist is hidden behind him!
0:59 - 1:16 FLAWLESS
This is actually 2 bands. The Spin Doctors accompanied by the Late Show Band.Cnsidering that fact...i think they sounded great!
yea, that was a party!!
@cbarrett34 Paul is a music machine. The 'Blues Brothers' hadPaul Shaffer for their Keyboardist. @YuvalL there are two bass players there man ! i thought that too at the start !

no doubt. talk about somebody just having fun.. chris barron is the man
anybody know who is playing drums here, he looks like Buzz Morrow, who I went to high school with, but he was not a band member that I know of...
they still play live shows
Now that is rock and roll, eh?
Paul was gettin down ! 😂
I think this is Late Night w/ David Letterman not Saturday Night Live.
Even better than the house band playing with Eddie Van Halen...which is definitely worth a listen..liked them both
cool shit' :)
@Musicphreak35 The confusion lies in the Spin Doctors playing with the Late Night band. Two guitars, two basses, two drummers..
está vinnie colaiuta ahi?
The best one on this band by far is the guitar player, no wonder why he left the band.
My shit
sundome 93 tampa there equip blew up
@SlitMouthWoman yea but i dont quite understand why.
@golyg It's gone up a bit now ;) And rightly so!
Mark white is a great bassist...
The drummer has Zappa qualities...
the bass player is Letterman's band bass player
@YuvalL there's two
Does the singer just make up words as he goes along?
dunno lol, just reminds of the song sweet home alabama - not sure why!
Paul Schafer. Music Director 0n David Letterman.
you can't hear them, though. Spin Doctors are a JamBand so inviting people to join em on stage ain't that far out of what they are.
I JUST SEEN EM LIVE AT THE DOGWOOD FESTIVAL IN FAYETTEVILLE N.C. CHECK IT OUT AT VERDICTIAM CHANNEL!!!!!!!
there's a pretty big contrast between the mood of the Spin Doctors and another 90's band Nirvana
@jamesfromwagstaffe In case one drummer misses a note, the other can cover his mistake.
