Please recommend some diy videos for projects around the home like the one you shared about flipping the table or about making food boards etc. and some DIY simple furniture. Thanks. Love your diy furniture videos❤
Hello, Kathryn, I’m new to your channel but I’m loving it! I wanted to let you know that I thought about you today. I live in Sevierville, TN, and today there was a man standing on the street corner with a sign…one side said, “Smile you are beautiful!” And the other side said, “You are worthy, enough, and loved by God!” You are so positive and uplifting to all your viewers. God bless you! 😊❤️❤️❤️
I'm 68, and I live in a senior community. I have picked up some pretty incredable antiques tossed away when the owner has passed. I got three refrigerator containers made of glass with lids. They sell for 18.00 each. I picked them up for .75!!!
My daughter will be moving into her very first apartment and I'll be re-watching videos for ideas that will work for her. I can't thank you enough for your content 😊
It's a good idea to use a wet cloth before your final sand, since it raises the grain. Then your final sanding takes that raised grain down again. Otherwise, your poly coat may raise the grain and make your final result bumpy.
Once, I found an old chair at a yard sale for $2.00. The cushion was covered in an old tapastry and was dryrotted, and the wooden seat area was warped. I took it home. Stripped it, painted it, and got a new plank of wood for the bottom. Used a pillow as the new cushion and covered it with an old plaid blanket I had. I then did a mosaic design on the back, using broken tiles in the matching colors of the cushion. I went to my local tile shop and asked if I could have any broken pieces. The guy gave me a whole box of bits and pieces for free. I still have that chair and love it.😊
Finding that Bassett piece in such good shape in the trash was a major find! A little bit of sanding and hardware swap changed it to a classic piece. All three pieces came out beautifully. Well done!
I've never gotten anything from the side of the road, but it's my favorite way to get rid of things! I can't believe how quickly things get picked up sometimes!
Same. We just moved and I put a ton of random stuff on the curb. All of it was taken to a new home which saved me time and other people money! Win win!
Hello Catherine, I love them all. They’re all beautiful . I really appreciate all your videos. Keep up the good work. God bless you and your family always in our heart.
"I decorate my home with vintage finds" made me smile. Because I don't change my decor much, I have had my decor long enough that it now qualifies as vintage.
I love all of them! My favorite was the raw edge tall table. My friend took a piece of raw edge 6 foot slab and made me the most beautiful charcuterie board! It goes with me to every girls' weekend. It was even the main piece at an outdoor wedding. You made the most beautiful pieces !!
Those pieces are gorgeous!!! I will redo furniture for myself! Or if a friend ask for a favor to help them do something to theirs. I don’t wanna sell anything lol ❤
OMG thank you for showing the rostoleun oiece I have been considering using that to do some projects but I had no idea how it would turn out. So thank you for showing what it looks like!!! 🤩🤩🤩
I’m always scoring with free furniture along the streets that are beautiful pieces the way they are or to do a makeover. I found this 3 leg table where the legs were turned on a lathe and the table top is an inlaid wood design that is absolutely gorgeous and on the bottom it says made in Italy. I’ve never looked it up, I should. There was not one thing wrong with it, the lady just didn’t want it anymore and set it out on the curb for garbage pick up. I’m so glad I grabbed it before the garbage truck came. As for your three projects, my favorite is the coffee table and the unique shape natural wood slab piece. Both of those are gorgeous.
Wow, that table came out so beautiful. I used to like free things, but since my husband passing I no longer go looking for treasures. Hod bless you and your family.🦋💜
As someone who has been doing this. I have thrifted everything from swung glass, Tonala Mexican pottery, to many valuable things that if they were in antique stores I wouldn't afford otherwise. Research everything. Some furniture is worth more in original finishes. Those project were definitely well done.
#2 is my favorite. It is SO refreshing to watch you create such beautiful furniture from someone else's trash. I am so sick of hearing "decluttering pros" on UA-cam justify throwing out usable items because "they will end up in a landfill anyway" while you show how those things can be used and repurposed to add beauty and joy to our homes. I have picked up some GREAT things that I use from the side of the road. (Also, the swap shop in my recycling center has better things than I can find in the stores!) I found a great coffee table that I have no idea what to do with but you gave me and idea on how I can look for inspiration online. You also have given me ideas on how to use things I already have. Last summer, for example, I took some sand, driftwood and seaweed home from a day at the beach. In March, I put those things in one of my family's glass jars and it feels exactly like that day on the beach! As you mentioned, something like that might sell in a gift shop for $35 or $40 dollars. Thanks so much for your creative and useful videos. YOU are making SUCH a difference.
We LOVE finding roadside treasures! Working on a piece right now♥️I love the raw wood! Also the chest in draws! You and I are a lot alike 😊 you are gorgeous inside and out 💕
This was your best video by far! I have been wanting to do our dark oak coffee table but was so afraid of stripper. Someone said I could use bleach but again, I hate that smell. My husband said he would help so hopefully we'll try it. I love your coffee table! It turned out beautifully!
All three pieces are beautiful! I’m partial to the raw wood that you oiled. I love beachy decor and rustic woodsy cabin decor (not together 😂) and I think that table can be used in both styles of decor!
I am putting casters on a kitchen wall cabinet to make an island. The counter top will be a slap of live-edged maple oil-rubbed with butcher block oil.
That table is awesome!! When I was younger, my parents had two tables similar. One long console table and another smaller one with a cool knot at the bottom. When they sold their house, it was sold with everything in it! 😟 (I didn't have the space but think of the tables often). 🤔 is that weird lol probably... Thanks so much for your DIY'S!! Always to notch!! 😁💜
I love this video- I have a table sitting in my garage that was my daughters and I want it for my bedroom.I was very intimidated cause I’ve never done it but I have a sander so I’m going to give it a shot 😊
Kathryn you are killing the game!!!! Thank you for sharing❤❤ By the way I like all 3. Too hard to just pick one. 😊😊😊 Plus I got my crafty subscription.
Oh yeah, Girl.I find so many wonderful things.Universe is so generous. Not so many of the big things.I don't need super big items.I have gotten large items in the past. When I need them it is always so neat the way the universe will provide me with what I need.I love it thank you God
Choose? I have to choose? I was impressed by all three! Thank you for explaining the steps but keeping it fast paced. The bleaching technique piqued my interest. 🤔
Loved the dresser because i took my ikea dresser nd painted it black nd changed the knobs to crystal nd it looks like i paid $300 for it nd i love the odd shaped wood pieces… good job on all 3 pieces🙌🏽💜💜💜💜

I don't know how you could even pick out one of those three as a favorite. My gosh, they're all so beautiful!!
I'm 68, and I live in a senior community. I have picked up some pretty incredable antiques tossed away when the owner has passed. I got three refrigerator containers made of glass with lids. They sell for 18.00 each. I picked them up for .75!!!
Here in NYC we call it street shopping. My mom did it & our apt looked like it belonged in a magazine!😊
Wow! That coffee table is GORGEOUS!!! Great job, Kathryn!

Everything was beautiful but I liked #1 the most.
💖💖💖💖
My daughter will be moving into her very first apartment and I'll be re-watching videos for ideas that will work for her. I can't thank you enough for your content 😊
The raw edge table is EVERYTHING! ❤it!!!
tack cloth will remove all the dust without any moisture that could get trapped under the varnish and cause bubbles down the road

@@MyFocusVaries In the 18 years I bought old furniture and refinished it myself for my house, and to sell, I never had any issues doing it my way. :)

Sounds so cool and probably looks even better wish I could see it
@@xxkarlosxxxxxx7233 Thanks! It was the 1st time I'd ever done anything like that. I'm really proud of it.
I wish you could show us!
They are all so beautiful but the midnight dresser is STUNNING
I love all three of the wood pieces, but I have to go with #1 as my favorite! This is a great "how-to" video!
I'm originally from CA and my father used to pick up redwood/burl pieces. He is gone now but those pieces live on❤
Finding that Bassett piece in such good shape in the trash was a major find! A little bit of sanding and hardware swap changed it to a classic piece.
All three pieces came out beautifully. Well done!
I always get so excited when your videos pop up and YES I ❤ free stuff.
That coffee table and chest drawer is absolutely gorgeous ❤❤❤
I've never gotten anything from the side of the road, but it's my favorite way to get rid of things! I can't believe how quickly things get picked up sometimes!
Same here! ❤

"I decorate my home with vintage finds" made me smile. Because I don't change my decor much, I have had my decor long enough that it now qualifies as vintage.
If it's over 20yrs old it's vintage... But it has to be atleast 20yrs old otherwise it's just old 😂
@xxkarlosxxxxxx7233 Most of my decor is 30-50 years old-- definitely vintage. I don't care about trends. Many items were collected from an artist.
Midnight magic is my favorite! What a wonderful new life!
Love them all.. But last one was best.
That table IS gorgeous!!! Love this video!!! Kathryn, you are the best. Thank you
Aww Kathryn pretty please do more thrift or trash to treasure videos loooove it ❤❤❤❤❤
I love all of them! My favorite was the raw edge tall table. My friend took a piece of raw edge 6 foot slab and made me the most beautiful charcuterie board! It goes with me to every girls' weekend. It was even the main piece at an outdoor wedding. You made the most beautiful pieces !!
They all look fabulous, but I’m loving that raw edge table!
They ALL turned out stunning❕
Ginkgo Leaves is my fav.
😎👍👍
Those pieces are gorgeous!!! I will redo furniture for myself! Or if a friend ask for a favor to help them do something to theirs. I don’t wanna sell anything lol ❤
I like darker woods. So I like the midnight dresser set best. I just wish it had been done in a dark stain instead of paint.
Raw edged beauty! Gorgeous!
That live edge table was THE PERFECT size for an entry table!! Wow I love it!! Craftsy sounds awesome!!
I love all of them thanks for makeing this type of videos I enjoy watching your videos God bless you.
I like them all, yet I like the last one best. It is simply beautiful. I did like the handlrs on the coffe table very much too.

I can't choose a favorite piece because I absolutely love them all. ❤ I also love, love, love your vintage finds.❤ Great video.
I totally love number 2, because I love raw edge wood. I actually have a couple pieces that I might try my hand at making A couple tables out of.
They are all beautiful but #1 is my fav!
I loved the raw edge table! They are all beautiful!
Love them all, but (surprisingly to me) I love #3! It looks so elegant.
All three pieces are beautiful! I’m partial to the raw wood that you oiled. I love beachy decor and rustic woodsy cabin decor (not together 😂) and I think that table can be used in both styles of decor!

I loved refinishing furniture. You have reignited my desire to refinish some pieces I already have at home.
I love the first two . For my personal taste I would have used another trim beside the gold trim on the last one
Loved the dresser because i took my ikea dresser nd painted it black nd changed the knobs to crystal nd it looks like i paid $300 for it nd i love the odd shaped wood pieces… good job on all 3 pieces🙌🏽💜💜💜💜
