"Ever thought about how bad it would suck to be a tree during the Christmas season? This wildly bloody and ingeniously insane short from HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN filmmakers Jason Eisener and Rob Cotterill shines light on the forgotten victims of the holidays. Prepare to have your Yuletides yacked!"
-Mitch Davis
A happy ending! I wasn't expecting that. What a heart-warming, festive film.
Umm are you okay?
@@fidgetboyandfriends821 i am, thanks for asking. You? 🎄
Bruh. 💀

Yes, the cutest ending I have ever seen
When James said head's up, he was not kidding.
You said it 😮🥺
yup
Well, it's more all over the floor than up.
And with that, I will accept my prize of Worst.
Poor cat
Wow. James from Dead Meat told us about this short film is no joke. This is one of the greatest and darkest Christmas theme horror short film ever.
frr

Considering all the horror in the world around us, I'm so glad to be able to watch a traditional Yuletide family film like this. And with such a happy ending.
12:52 tree making a straight up dolphin sound is gold
This may be a little out of context but what if I told you that the “Dolphin” sound you heard was actually the sped up call of a Australian bird known as a Kookoobara
Anyone else here from Dead Meat?
Yepppppp
No. He sucks
Yes and I'm very grateful for it this was hilarious and graphic 😆
YEAHH it’s Christmas Eve baby!!!!
Yup!
remember watching this with my grandpa back in 08' at a convention, we still bring this film up every so often. Glad to finally be able to watch it again!
Wow. Very powerful message. This disturbing and tragic documentary made me go meatarian
Love that pun so much!!! I am totally a meatarian! 😅🤣
Really?
All it did was made me take a chainsaw to any tree I saw
carnivorous?
Bless you for making and posting this holiday classic!
DON'T BLASPHEME, YOU FREAK!
You call that a party classic?😑
Straight to the ward with you
If I die near Christmas I want this to play at my funeral
This needs a full length version. Amazing.
I guess so!
I love the 70s style cinematography and coloring choices for this movie!!!
James was not lying when he said disturbing final kill
Who’s james?
@@jasoneisenerDead Meat James I'm assuming
@@jasoneisener james a janiese he does kill counts on horror movies at deadmeat and he was gonna cover treevenge for christmas
@@Kramerjohn89the kill count just came out, how did you know from 1 month ago
@@ElectronicHype because I watched the short it came out in 2008
Please extend this into a full-feature length film. It would be wonderful to see this holiday horror be presented to theater-going audiences.
I remember the first time I saw this one, on Vimeo. I was not prepared to the hilarious madness.
This is one of the few movies, including Monty Python's Holy Grail, Bad Taste and Evil Dead 2, that made me laugh so hard, I could barely breathe.
Thank you Jason, for almost killing me with laughter 🤣
This holiday horror short gave me the feeling that I would never look at a Christmas Tree the same way again.
Thank you for making this, it's been a true Christmas tradition for six years in a row now.
And people say trees don’t have feelings. Show them this awesome film and prove them wrong 🌲🎄
SpookyAstronauts brought me here, and this definitely lived up to the hype! Loved it.
She brought me here too, and I'm so glad.
I share this with everyone I know every year, whether they like it or not
I'm glad my tree is fake.
I wish there's a sequel. If there's one in the works, they should title it Treevenge 2: Humans vs. Trees
Just introduced this movie to my wife. She failed to see the film’s true genius. She is yet again disappointed in me.
Leave her, she's clearly not worthy of a man like you.
Dude , you did a great job on Hobo. It’s a shame you haven’t made more.
Man, this is so much better than that Treehouse of Horror segment “Nightmare on Elm Tree.”
James wasn't kidding when he said this is a gory movie!
13:35 the tree be having a bit too much fun 💀
😳
i am not kidding this is one of the best short films ive ever seen
The Cannibal Holocaust theme makes it just that much more awesome.
Really love the short film but those trees definitely lost every single ounce of sympathy I had for them in the beginning 😂
Bruh
For the cat!
@@LFAFSTYLE lol
Yeah this is definitely something that’s gotta be seen to be believed
Dead Meat sent me here! So glad they did!. This was so awesome. I appreciate how the writer/director just went for it! Very inspiring to be honest.
My favourite Christmas movie. Thank you!
You know what I'm thankful for? This glorious short film. Have watched it every Christmas for years. So good. So inspirational! Merry Christmas, everyone!
So glad I subscribed, just to see this tree splatter excellence. Perfect Xmess film.
Solid piece of entertainment right here. Thank you for bringing Christmas joy and laughter into my home.
10:36 And so it begins
Note - I came here from the Dead Meat kill count video
I love how this has the theme from Cannibal Holocaust and very similar cinematography in the opening
A classic. I watch this every year.
Cheers and Merry Christmas to all
Best Christmas Film!!
Great transitional Thanksgiving to Christmas type of film.
I can’t believe I stumbled upon this gem! More people need to see this.
This has been one of my favorites for a long time, One of the best. Iv shared this with many people through the years.
Perfect Christmas film, especially for everyone having the worst Holiday ever. ;-; BTW: trees should stay in forests where they belong. Forests give and offer us all oxygen, cleared air, quiet, peace, comfort and isolation. That's why they deserve much more respect from us.
on a simple level, you wouldn't have the technology to watch this film unless millions of trees were harvested for energy and shelter over the last millennia to get you to this point.
Looks like someone missed the point of the film lol
The ocean produces more oxygen than trees
@@_SuitedWell it's kelp in ocean producing the oxygen but yes. Moss also produces more oxygen than trees with less space. It's much better to plant moss than trees.
Discovering unhinged content like this and too many cooks is just one of the things I love about deadmeat
Remember kids, always make sure to use fake trees for Christmas instead of real ones.
The Tree Revolution, 2007 colorized
Hands down the best Xmas movie EVER!!!
One of my favorite christmas films, watch this every christmas. Definitely one of your best short films along side with Youngbuck, that short is fucking awesome!
Thank you for this quality upload! Looks much better than some other versions floating around on YT.
Haven't watch it for a long time, but i think i laugh harder the second time.
And now i can see the reference to "cannibal holocaust" 😄
Yeah, even the opening music is almost identical to the Cannibal Holocaust theme (and they both begin with the camera panning over trees)

@@amyevans6778 Yessssss. Yess...they do...
Me watching the full film before i go watch the dead meat kill count
I feel so high just by watching this 😅
The short film that feels like the movie A Christmas Story meets the Evil Dead aFrosty the Snowman vs. Kampus. And Charles Dickens meets Stephen King
I should have listened to James
This would be even better as a feature length film, that baby kill was epic!!!
Freaking genius! Totally loved this! Happy this didn't get banned!!! I want more please! It felt as being a kid in a candy shop... 😅 I somehow felt bad for the trees... but we always had fake ones since I was a kid... so I guess that I'm ok... 🤣
This is truly my favorite christams movie about t=some fucking fed up christmas trees
Why hasn't Blumhouse picked this up yet !?
Someone give this man 100 million dollars.
how is this hartwarming
It isn’t supposed to be
Dead meat gang amazing ending lol
Wow James wasn’t kidding about that final scene
The music in the opening and end credits is to Ruggero Deodato's (and RIP, he passed away recently) notorious film "Cannibal Holocaust" (1980) and that soundtrack was composed by Riz Ortolani.
This is why I do fake trees
They're just life size action figures of celebritrees
Mines is Chris Pine
Y'know, when I first heard about this movie, I fully expected it to be one of those weird, low-budget ones that end up getting made fun of. But, when I saw this was only 16 minutes, I was like "I'll just watch it now.". And when I say this was one of the most bonkers movies I've ever seen, I mean it as a massive compliment. Rarely have I ever had a movie completely flip my expectations on its head, let alone in 16 minutes. Honestly a great movie, the practical effects are great, and while I'm not sure if any of the characters had names (or whether it matters if they have names), the crazy plot and amazing practical effects just completely overrides any gripes I may have with the movie. Though, I think if I had one suggestion, I'd recommend adding subtitles to the video, if only because it's a little hard to understand what the characters are saying.
TL;DR: this movie is crazy and really good, 10/10
Edit: I can only imagine what it was like on set. It must've been so much fun.
Thank you so much! Appreciate it!
Eisener has a bold and interesting style and deserves to have more work financed.
I've never laughed so hard while also being horrified 😂
12:17
the most satisfying eye roll in a horror movie
Came here from Dead Meat like 18-20 mins ago after watching the kill count lol
Nothing says Christmas Spirit like pine trees getting brutal, bloody revenge on their human oppressors! Thank you for this masterpiece!
Who else is here cuz James name dropped this on a Dead Meat stream 👀
Officially my favorite Christmas movie ever, thank you
When James of Dead Meat mentioned this for some reason my mind went straight to The Evil Dead for reasons that's obvious if you know the film. But visually and tonally reminds me of early Matt Stone/Trey Parker very Cannibal: The Musical feeling, good stuff
OH GOD THIS IS MY JAM!
Weird shit with monsters for the win!
That is also to say that I’m a fan of Jason Eisener, loved Hobo with a Shotgun, the alien part of VHS2 was a highlight. I heard about Treevenge years ago and I was super happy to finally see it!
This is the most holliest jolliest Christmas movie ever and it’s budget was so high obviously
Every Christmas i make it a tradition to watch this
This is the best film I've ever seen
J-roc and Sarah together is something I’d never thought I’d see
Will you ever do a new full lenght film? Love your style
James wasnt joking about how gruesome it was, damn
There's two things you need to know about the J to the R O C: I spin more rhymes than a Lazy Susan, and I'm innocent until my guilt is proven.
Absolutely loved that. Those tree branches have a mind of their own!
Thanksgivings over time to bring this bad boy out
Showing little kids being graphically murdered is one thing, but a new born baby!!?? My god does this director have fucking BALLS man!..😭💀
James from Dead Meat brought me here
This makes me want to cry.
Dead Meat brought me here button
Jason, you made a masterpiece!
Mr. Eisner 👁 truly enjoyed this piece of Camp, Canadian, Coniferous, Carnage.
As a veteran gore whore it felt like a genre hybrid of Horror-Comedy that is extremely difficult to execute with competency and skill.
A Gremlins meets National Lampoon Family Christmas with bonus kitsch.
Wherever you are hopefully you can make a spiritual successor to this piece someday.
The commentary of the slavish devotion to ritualistic revelry and commercialism often at the expense of what is truly important is food for thought.
MAZEL.
This could be feature length. I like this, seeing from the trees perspective while it's being decorated.. yeah I guess how that would seem to a tree. 🤣 Brilliant. I also liked the trees voices, they sound cute 🥺.
Omg Love this Masterpiece!!! (Saw for the first time today)
It's wild no one recognizes the names and faces from Trailer Park Boys. J-Roc and Sarah were the mom and dad that bought the tree, and Jim Lahey RIP, and Cory were voices of trees 😂😂😂
Revisiting this and loving it more
Anybody show up because of Dead Meat?? Lmao!!
Way better than I expected
Came from deadmeats live stream, James warning about the final kill and wondered what could be so bad about the ending, Jesus fucking Christ 😂
ikr
I'd been meaning to watch this for a while and so glad I finally did! Freaking fantastic. Thanks for sharing it on UA-cam!
It’s time again!!! Thanks
James mentioned this on the Dead Meat channel update, so I had to come check it out
Heartcolding little film.
that ending was messed up as fuck
