I just bought my first 5.3 in May and I’ve already got an S&B cai, deleted resonator, and ported 6.2 Intake and manifold by Chuy’s performance. I was researching what would be the next step to get this beast moving quicker and this is a great launching point. Great video and delivery

06 Silverado 5.3 upgraded maf, throttle body, cold air intake, and long tube header. It doesn’t like the upgrade getting maf codes, throttle body codes, lean codes, what we’ll help with this?
D - Aftermarket headers are likely causing your code. The only real option is to get a tune that disables the codes.
How to know if the engine is a 5.3L Vortec? All certain year models have it? Cause im looking at a 2005 Silverado 1500 Ls and a 2007 silverado and wondering... Thanks
Park - Run the VIN. Easiest and quickest way.
My L59 has close to $250k. Such a great engine; function over fashion gets you home.

I do not know much about engines so I am starting my journey with youtube. I have a just one question. Can you add a turbo without changing your cam, and how much gain can I expect? Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

I use my 5.3 for towing. What can I do to add more low end torque?
I already have a stage 2 cam, upgraded valve springs, push rods, etc, long tube headers, flowmaster exhaust, cold air intake, and I want more power. Thanks
R - Seems like you've done a ton to it already and sounds like a sick build. There's not much more, but maybe looking into re gearing would be a good idea. Keep us updated.

@@8020Media ok thanks also it’s completely stock and I wanted to put a new cam, exhaust manifold with a straight pipe any thought for my first mods I want to make it a little quicker and sound louder

I have a 2018 Chevy Silverado 5.3 on a 5” lift with some 22x12 on 35s and all I’ve done is add an S&B cold air intake and did some exhaust work. what would be the next step suggested mod to get better performance , nothing too crazy though

supercharge...bolt on stuff is a waste of $ most times. Youre already starting with 2 less cyls
You could always do a small torque cam and heads but unless you can DIY probably not worth it

@@persiangodlegend8166you need supporting mods before you can slap a turbo on a 5.3, your trans and a bunch of other parts in your truck arnt ready for all the power a turbo produces brother

Leon - Unfortunately, there's not much y'all can do over there.
We are screwed. New bills and testing can tell if it has been retuned. ANything other than the stock oem one inc trans is an automatic fail. Was just about to stroke my 5.3 when this happened.
Leave it stock, not worth the hassle or get some gears.
Gears, supercharger or stroke it, go small on the cam if any.
Heavy truck, small engine..unless you spend lots of $ most bolt ons on any car are a waste
In Ca if it doesnt have the OEM tune inc the trans its an automatic fail now. Fun is illegal here.

i mean i live in riverside and i have a stg 2 vw GLI with a res and muffler delete exhaust and a tuned trans and ive had no issues with police. i just do my hooligan shit where theres no cops. not hard
